A Tropical Storm developing out in the Gulf churns up the sea so I went out to Englewood Beach at Chadwick Park to check it out. There was a Rip Current Warning and Special Marine Warning and that's always a good time to see the wave action. Sorry in advance about wind noise because it was blowing pretty hard and I forgot to turn on the wind noise reduction...duh. I'm new at this camera and still getting familiar with its functions.

One of the most beautiful Beaches in the area. This park is a semi-secret favorite of the locals. Also known as Middle Beach because it is centrally located in the Manasota Key barrier Island. Pristine waters and a sparsely populated beach make this a favorite location for a great day of sun and surf.

Had a line of thunderstorms move through last night. An F2 tornado on Siesta Key, FL, a little north of Manasota Key about 8 hours prior to this video. Wind damage all up and down the southwest coast of Florida. This is the highest seas I've ever seen at this beach. The Gulf of Mexico is generally more calm. I also believe the wind (25 MPH out of the NW) was blowing in the red tide which has been hanging 100 miles or so off shore for a while now. Definitely felt the scratchy throat and watery eyes, a little coughing. We spent about 5 minutes on the beach and headed back to the car.

When asked where “Florida’s least crowded best beaches” might be… enchanting Manasota Key Beaches comes to mind! Just off the coast of Englewood between Sarasota and Fort Myers on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Manasota Key is 7 miles in length with four expansive beaches.
The popular Englewood Beach lies just over the south bridge and features a boardwalk, picnic tables under shelters, restrooms and changing facilities. Restaurants and tourist shops are located nearby. A couple of miles south lies the more secluded Stump Pass Beach, part of Florida’s state park system. The park claims the entire southern end of the key. Visitors can explore the mile-long beach and hike the trails where tortoises and egrets call home.
North of Englewood Beach, Blind Pass Beach is a great place to search for shark teeth. The beach also includes a nature trail that meanders through mangroves and sand dunes.
