Fast Tour: From Mission District Homeless Camps through Mission Dolores; San Francisco, California
0:00-0:26 tents across street from Safeway in Mission District
0:51 Metro PCS needs its own private security guard?
2:01 Pit Stop portable toilets for homeless, followed by a very populated street corner.
3:48 Mission and 16th Street
4:10 16th and Guerrera
4:29 16th and Dolores; nice church
4:50 down 16th from Church gay flags flying
6:42 I reach the main flag for the Gay District (Mission Dolores?) in San Fran here. Smaller flags adorned the streets to signify their rainbow flag territory.
Usually, you see flags periodically to mark certain holidays, events, commemorations or whatever. But I suspect these rainbow flags remain year-round.
Mission Dolores might be the primary gay district.
Moving down 16th Street and near Church Street appear to be a very pro gay agenda in the district. The people certainly look the part as well with many physically fit males walking around at this random time that I stroll through.
The homeless camps on the sidewalks look somewhat established, long-term. If they can remain on the sidewalks during the midday, that is a signal of poor enforcement. Another sign of poor enforcement is the local businesses hiring private security as such places like Safeway and Metro PCS.
I was surprised how loud and boisterous the people were on the Franklin Square soccer field. It looked like it might be a high-population of Mexicans from a distance, but I never took a closer look and not sure 100%.
So this video starts in the Mission District, goes through the Gay District and then ends in Twin Peaks.
The gays might think their flags ward off the homeless.

Dolores Park - San Francisco - January 25th
Encompassing nearly 16 acres, Mission Dolores Park is one of San Francisco’s most popular parks, the vibrant heart of its equally vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood. Here you’ll find lush green lawns shaded by tall palm trees, a soccer field, six tennis courts, one basketball court, a playground, a dog play area, and a clubhouse with recreational facilities and public Yes. Many festivals, performances, and other cultural events are held here, and on sunny afternoons people flock to the park to play, picnic, lounge, walk their dogs, and enjoy spectacular views of the city’s skyline and beyond.
Named for nearby Mission Dolores, the park is situated on land that was once a Jewish cemetery. The City bought the property in 1905 and established the park. In 1906 it served as a refugee camp for more than 1,600 residents made homeless by the earthquake and fire.
Mission Dolores Park is bounded by Church, Dolores, 18th, and 20th streets. The Muni Metro J-Church Line runs along its western edge.
