Jeep Wrangler Moab Pritchett Canyon ROCKER KNOCKER : MOBY
Come visit us at:
Jeep parts purchased through this Amazon link will help support this channel and at no cost to you:
Rocker Knocker is without question one of the most famous obstacles on the Pritchett Canyon Jeep Trail in Moab, Utah. Essentially a huge set of ledges with a sandy base to make things slick, this obstacle typically requires big horse power or a careful line that will push your Jeep to the edge of flopping on its side. Because of its difficulty, a winch point is located up on top and it isn't uncommon to see broken parts laying around. In this short clip, you'll get to see two different camera views of Cindy taking on this formidable challenge in Moby, our 2007 Jeep JK Wrangler powered by a 6.2L LS V8 and pushing 40 Toyo MT's. A BIG THANKS goes to our good friend Tony (JeepFan) for helping us to make this clip possible. We hope you enjoy.
In the Guide to Moab, UT, Back roads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails book, Charles A. Wells says that Pritchett Canyon is considered by many to be the toughest four miles in all of Moab. Traildamage says unless you drive a buggy or some other extreme 4x4 vehicle, Pritchett Canyon is just about the most difficult trail you can do in the Moab area and the Red Rock 4-Wheelers rates Pritchett Canyon a 9 out of 10 in difficulty and states that it's becoming more difficult every year, and is now to the point where the average, well equipped trail rig may have great difficulty in completing the trail.

Hellroaring Canyon Rim. Moab, UT. Group. #131
Hellroaring Canyon Rim starts out very smooth and easy and stays that way for 80% or so. Once near the edge the cratered slabs start to emerge and things get a little more interesting. Nothing too crazy but there are a few ledges that must be negotiated and I did lift a tire once or twice. Then you reach the edge which sits atop a fantastic horseshoe in the river with amazing cliff views. This site, unlike our usual one, has no safety ledges, it's straight down from the edge so be careful if you go. Have fun out there!

My Tires:
I love these tires. The only others I'd take are the BFG KO2 but they don't make them in this size and the KM2's are amazing. You can probably imagine the amount of driving I do weekly and how much abuse my tires get. These things last, everyone knows this, you've seen it in my videos.
My Tire Deflators:
These tire deflators have many $15 copies but the others just don't hold up or are inaccurate. I don't know what the deal is, they look identical to me too but read the reviews- they're bad. I've been using these Staun's for over a year and never had a problem, I air down a lot. Set them at the trail so your tires will be the same temp when you get to the trail next time.
My Compressor:
There are better ones but I'd just get a bigger VIAIR, not someone different. Airs up all my 33's from 14psi to 37psi in less than 10 minutes. The in-line gauge is inaccurate when the compressor is on because of the pressure passing through. You need to switch it off to get a real reading. You can combat this by figuring out what incorrect reading corresponds to the real one. When mine is right at 3 Bar (43psi) it's slightly over 37psi. I put it on another tire and then use my real gauge to set it exactly.
My Microphone:
My microphone is the worst good mic you can get. BUT don't be fooled, it's a very good mic. Picture me getting in my car for the 50th time after I just ran up and down a hill... for the 50th time. Do you see me disconnecting my mic and gingerly setting it in a case? No. It stays connected to the tripod, gets thrown into my plastic cargo area and bounces around with other heavy items until the next one. It gets terrible interference from WiFi so you must make sure that it's off on your camera or phone. If you are trying to use this with your phone you need to get a TRS to TRRS cable which RODE makes. This is required because your phone will think the mic is headphones.
My Tripod:
I went through 2 tripods in 1 month, a $20 and a $30. Buy it nice or buy it thrice. This thing gets opened and closed MANY times per week in rain, snow, dirt, and even in the middle of rivers. I love the 2-stage legs so i can make it real low in 2sec instead of shortening all the legs.
My Drone:
You can tell how easy it was to progress through my videos. Besides maybe five times, you've seen every bit of flying since I got it. I don't fly in the city and I don't go to the mountains and not make a video. It is VERY easy to use.
My Drone ND Filters:
The filters are a must. Again I have the worst ones and I am still very pleased. My first use was video #35 and I think it is very apparent. Illinois Gulch (#34 obviously) has a completely white sky, way too much blue. I'm still not even good about selecting the right one or changing them out but it's 10x better than nothing.

FunTreks books are great. I like to bring as much information as possible when I go to the middle of nowhere. They have coordinates and maps for everything, very in-depth info on sturdy pages.
This is the stuff I've tested, this is what I like. I am very hard on all of my equipment frequently and it still works. I back all of these items and each company seems to back their product very well too. I guess it's easy to offer a warranty when your stuff doesn't break.

Mountain Bike Destinations: Moab
It’s officially Spring, and you know what that means? It’s time to plan your next MTB adventure!
In 2016 I was lucky to find myself riding trails all across the United States. Because of that, I get a ton of messages and comments asking for recommendations on to take the next MTB vacation.
Today, I’m starting a series aimed at sharing my favorite mountain bike destinations from my travels. I’ll tell you all about what made my experience there so great as well as information on the must ride trails, campsites you can stay at, where to get the best food and beer, fun activities off the bike, and even some sneaky pro tips I found along the way.
Moab
Moab, although is no secret as a mtb destination, holds a special place on my list because it was the first trip that I took with both Brian from BXKC and Seth of Seth’s Bike Hacks. This was the trip where we all realized how well we jelled and really opened our eyes to the amazing possibilties for not just our future YouTube collaborations, but also to our new found friendship. This, combined with some of the most technical and unique single track I have ever ridden made for one hell of an epic mountain bike trip.
The must have ride here is without a doubt The Whole Enchilada. Touting the lofty title of one of the world’s greatest rides, The Whole Enchilada absolutely delivered - and we didn’t even get to ride the entire thing! With an astounding 8,000 feet of descent and everything from high alpine to sandstone canyon, fast and smooth to technical and gnarly, The Whole Enchilada is an amazingly diverse ride that showcases everything Moab has to offer.
Speaking of things to offer - Being an established ride destination does have its perks. Moab has amazing facilities that helped me get by on a low budget the first time I visited with my brother. In addition to plenty of free camping on BLM land outside of town, Moab has an awesome Public library that I was able to use for internet and work. Moab also has a pretty great dirt jump set and skate park right in town so that you can properly get injured before even heading to the trail.
For those of you with a family, Moab may be especially appealing due to the plethora of activities to keep the groms busy while your out shredding. I recommend checking out the awesome National Parks available at Arches and Canyonlands. For an especially dope view head up to the Delicate Arch at sunset and grab a seat: the show is amazing. Another hike I thoroughly enjoyed was the one to the Morning Glory Land bridge. This hike is outside the National parks so there is no fee, and includes some pretty stellar scenery all on a hike that isn’t too long even for your weary bike legs. Another favorite of the Moab scene the offered jeeping and ATV. I was fortunate enough to experience this thrill with our friend Randall who took us out for some hair raising excursions in his jeep, but you can hire guides just the same.
I don’t know about you, but after riding, I’m always in a hurry to clean off and grab some food. There is a pretty cool little spot back at the Mill Creek Trail where you can rinse off, have a beer and hangout, and do a little cliff diving. It can be a little crowded here, but I still thought it was a good time. For food, my two favorite spots were without a doubt the delicious burgers at Milt’s and the Moab diner.
Another trail that I recommend in Moab is Captain Ahab. This is a newer trail and is a great 2 hour loop with varied riding and great views. If you are looking to really send it, you may want to head out to the Bartlett Wash ferried area. Here, you will find endless free ride options that can get pretty hairy, so make sure to do some research first and take a friend or someone that knows the area.
Live Free, Ride Hard, and…. start planning!!!

Tusher Tunnel. Moab, UT. Solo. #91
Wow! Tusher Tunnel is one of the coolest natural features I've ever been to. The hike is like 2min until you hit the entrance but it's really cool as well, looks like a couple more tunnels are forming next door. I started into the triangular tunnel and after 20sec was thinking I thought this was a tunnel? Eventually the light at the end peered through around the corner and I was blown away. It's surprisingly long and is smallest in the center growing as you move outwards in either direction. The offroad is a different kind of fun with mostly high speed smooth sections and almost no obstacles but fantastic views the whole time. I blew the sound in the first few shots so that's why there is a song in this one, this will not become a regular thing. Also I know I know.. Almost a third of this is walking around on this alleged offroad channel but there's not much going on with the trail. Not all trails are hard but all trails must be filmed! Plus how insane would it be to have a video called Tusher Tunnel and not show the tunnel!? With close proximity to 191 (and the airport hence no drone) this is quickie you should consider. Have fun out there!
