Delhi, India is a true CURRY HEAVEN, and we traveled here to go for this DEEP Street Food tour of Old Delhi! The Food Ranger (Trevor James) is in India eating Street Food! This walk through Old delhi truly was an AMAZING STREET FOOD ADVENTURE with delicious curry, amazing restaurants, and with so much tasty and UNIQUE Indian food recipes for our huge Indian dinner.
If you love eating street food around the world and street food in India, or even all over Asia, you will love the street food in Old Delhi. You can find street food everywhere, where everyone seems to cook delicious Indian recipes for curry and SPICY dishes all over the street.
In one day in old Delhi, India, we had 7 delicious street foods all made in the halal style.
We started out the day with an AMAZING ramadan experience at the largest Mosque in Delhi, Jama Masjid. We picked up a ton of different Indian street foods to bring to the mosque and break the fast with all the locals. We shared the delicious food, and then went back to the streets of Old Delhi to try more food.
The first food we had on our street food tour was the Delhi Fried Chicken, DFC, covered in Indian spices like masala and mustard. It was extremely JUICY and PLUMP!!!
Afterwards, we tried more BBQ chicken and then went for a nice Indian dinner cooked by one of the locals in Old Delhi. His family recipes were passed down to him and his food was legendary! We ate Indian Chicken Biryani and chicken korma curry along with Buffalo Korma along with Kameeri Roti! It was absolutely delicious!
After this, we went to the LEGENDARY Changezi chicken joint that invented the recipe for this juicy and flavour packed chicken curry dish!
To finish of the day, we went for some delicious BBQ Seekh Kebabs, extremely flavourful!!
The addresses for these street food restaurants in Old Delhi, India, are found on the main street below Jama Masjid, Old Delhi, India.

In one day, we had 7 delicious street foods all made in the PUNJAB style. I didn’t realize until after we finished eating, but we didn’t eat any meat or chicken at all! It was true vegetarian HEAVEN!
We started out the day with an AMAZING Indian breakfast in two different Indian street food restaurants. The first was the famous Amritsar Kulcha. I’m pretty sure you can get this dish in Delhi, but here in Amritsar is the origin of this stuffed baked bread from HEAVEN. It’s stuffed with a spiced potato mix and onions. It’s sprinkled with a masala spice and then put DEEP into the Tandoori oven and baked. It’s served to you on a plate with Chole chickpea curry and onion chutney.
The next AMAZING Breakfast we had on our street food tour was the Poori and Chole with Potato sabzi. A little similar with the chole, but the potato sabzi was nice and sweet and tangy and very UNIQUE!
Afterwards, we took our TUK TUK around town for some more amazing street foods. We enjoyed a street corner tofu curry served with a pancake and then we went to have a sweet and sour buttermilk lassi.
After this, we went to the LEGENDARY Kesar De Dhaba all vegetarian curry restaurant that uses PURE desi ghee. It was extremely flavourful and just a little spicy. We ordered the VEG thali and it was incredible! The paratha bread was so fluffy and covered in pure desi ghee, absolute HEAVEN! We also ate some dessert, a fruit kulfi ice cream!
After this we went for a couple more street foods in Amritsar. We were exploring the back lanes and found an amazing mango fruit stall! It was dried and covered in a slightly spicy and sour and tangy sauce. There were a lot of flavours in this Indian recipe. It was spicy, sour, tangy, sweet, peppery, acidic, pungent, and made your mouth pucker when you ate it! Very UNIQUE!
After this, we went for our final street food, an ICONIC street food in India, the samosa. It was stuffed with potato, cumin seeds, and spices.
The addresses for these street food restaurants in Amritsar, India, are listed below:
1) Breakfast Street Food Kulcha at Monu Kulcha Hut
Gali No, 10, Loharka Road, Ranjit Vihar, N.R.I. Colony, NRI Colony, Gumtala, Amritsar, Punjab 143001, India
2) Amazing Poori and Chole and desserts at Kanha Sweets
Shop 1, Opposite Bijli Pehalwan Mandir, Lawrence Road, White Avenue, Amritsar
3) Fairly OK veg curry DEEP in the back lanes of Amritsar (honestly can’t remember this address, go for the Kesar De Dhaba instead).
4) Delicious Street Lassi at Ahuja Lassi
Near Hindu College, Amritsar, India
5) BEST Vegetarian Curry in the WORLD @ Kesar De Dhaba, Amritsar
6) Amazing Mango sour and spicy dessert at Aam Papad:
Ram lubhaya and sons
7) Potato Samosa at Raam samosey wala

Very Busy Indian Restaurant Action: The Curry Masters Kitchen on a Saturday Night, Tiranga Leicester
✓ This is an absolute privilege and honour because in this video we once again get to go into the kitchen of one of our favourite Restaurant's in Leicester; if you recall our last video was of the Indo-Chinese Chef Krishna in action.
As you most probably know by now, we love recording and eating Indian Street Food but in this video we go behind the scenes to point our camera in the direction of the Curries section of the kitchen in which Chef Champak Bhai gives us a brief insight into how he cooks up his delicious dishes to a packed and busy restaurant.
As well as all the other ingredients, the chef is using no less than three bir (British Indian Restaurant) base gravies.
It is a real wonder how the chef is so calm and keeps his cool under such a fast paced environment.
Also in the background you can see the other colleagues working their magic such as the tandoori oven master making naan breads and the wok stir fry master cooking up his Indo-chinese dishes.
This is an example of real team work with everyone manning their relevant sections creating and serving up all the dishes with astonishing military precision.
Note that; in Indian restaurants dishes are cooked on a very high heat which delivers a slight smokiness to the cooked food and gives that distinctive restaurant flavour and character to a dish.
The guys here were very busy at most times of my visit and I didn't feel it appropriate or right to interrupt to ask what the recipe ingredients being used were or what exactly was being cooked.
Tiranga Restaurant & Bar is genuinely one of our favourite restaurants whenever my family and I visit Leicester because the food never fails to deliver on the taste factor and the portion size of the food served up is extraordinarily very generous.
A special thank you to the owners Husmukh & Pushpa Patel, Master Head Chefs Krishna & Champak Bhai who welcomed us and graciously allowed us a privileged glimpse into their kitchen to do the videoing.
Full Address is: 119 to 121 Melton Road, Leicester LE4 6QS
Their opening times are:
Thurs, Fri, Sat & Mon: 6:00pm to 10:30pm
Sunday: 1:00pm to 10:30pm
Tuesday & Wednesday: Closed
If you have any questions you can call them on: 0116 261 1002
or you can message them via their Facebook page: @tiranga.bar
Video recorded on a very busy Saturday night with a full restaurant on Saturday 6th October 2018, we personally think that Gordon Ramsay (from Hell's Kitchen TV Show) could learn a thing or two in this restaurant kitchen.
It's such a pleasant coincidence that this restaurant shares the same name as the 1993 movie film Tirangaa.

Delhi is a city like no other. Sprawling, loud, chaotic, hot, and absolutely packed. But man is it fun. Never a dull moment in this Indian capital, and that's what makes it so great.
We're joined by food writer Kalyan Karmakar who leads us through all the great food that Delhi has to offer, including a first me - brain curry. And absolutely delicious it was, too!
Delhi is a city that grabs you by all the senses and won’t let go until you're back home - and that is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

The Heat of the Curry Master's Kitchen on a Busy Friday Night at Shambhala Village Indian Restaurant
✓ We are excited to let you know that we have recently discovered a great restaurant in the heart of Birmingham.
As you probably know by now we love Desi places like this; in this video we point our camera in the direction of the Curries section of the kitchen in which the Head Chef gives us a insight into how he quickly cooks up his delicious dishes to a packed and very busy restaurant.
Notice how the chef is so calm and keeps his cool under such a fast paced environment.
Also in the background you can see the other colleagues working their magic such as the tandoori oven master making naan breads and the Indo-Chinese Chef's wok stir fry action.
Some of the curry dishes and items being cooked are were:
* Maharani Thali (Veg Platter, Poppadum, Paneer Makhni, Paneer Jalfrezi, Mix Veg, Veg Rice, Dal Makhni, Tandoori Naan Bread).
* Chilli Paneer
* Malai Kofta
* Tandoori Soya Chicken
Note that; in Indian restaurants dishes are cooked on a very high heat which delivers a slight smokiness to the cooked food and gives that distinctive restaurant flavour, taste and character to a dish which you simply cannot recreate at home.
The guys were very busy at most times of my visit and we didn't feel it appropriate or right to interrupt to ask what dishes were being cooked up; but we briefly got a chance to ask the chef (towards the end of the video) what some of the spices, sauces and gravy recipe ingredients being used were.
Shambhala Village Restaurant is now confirmed as one of our favourite restaurants whenever my family and I ever visit Birmingham (aka Bham) because we found that the food did not fail to deliver on the taste factor and the portion size of the food served up is very generous they serve up restaurant quality food at Indian Street Food prices.
A special thank you to all the Shambhala team who welcomed us and graciously allowed us a privileged glimpse into their kitchen to do the videoing.
Shambhala Village Pure Vegetarian Restaurant is located at: 85 to 87 Soho Road, Birmingham, B21 9SP
If you have any questions such as regarding their opening times you can call them on: 0121 551 3053
or you can message them via their Facebook page: @ShambhalaVillage

One of the BEST Restaurants I ate at in New Delhi, India - Bhape Da Hotel
North Indian food is characterized by rich curries and breads. While in New Delhi, I ate at Bhape Da Hotel, a restaurant that was one of my favorites. More about New Delhi in my guide:
Karims Restaurant may be one of the most famous dining establishments in all of Delhi, and it was delicious, but I didn't think it was as good as Bhape Da Hotel. I originally found this restaurant by searching this website and since I was heading to Connaught Place, I decided I needed to stop in this legendary eater to sample some North Indian food in New Delhi, India. Bhape Da Hotel is just about everything I look for in a restaurant, there's a crowd of men standing outside, it's small and homey, it's hot and stuffy, and there's little conversation from diners, all the talk and shouting only comes from order food and from the staff - diners are silent enjoying the moment.
Again, I had little idea of what North Indian food to order when I arrived, so I asked the owner, what dishes he recommend and without hesitation he mentioned the saag mutton (or mutton sag, saag gosht). You may be familiar with the famous Indian food of palak paneer which is paneer cheese in a spinach puree curry blend. Saag is another name for palak, or spinach, and this dish was similar except instead of paneer cheese it was replaced with a huge chunk of mutton - that's what I'm talking about! I also ordered the chicken curry, and a stack of freshly cooked tandoori rotis which are very similar to thinner and slightly crispy naan breads. The food is all prepared already, so when you order they just dish the luscious curries out the pots and deliver them to your table with haste. The aroma was almost too much to handle, the food was calling my name.
Both the dishes arrived to my table and I was ready to dig in. At Bhape Da Hotel, I started things off by breaking bread and dipping it into the thick saag mutton gravy; It was heavenly. Then I took to the bone, and the mutton literally just slid off the bone with ease, the meat dripping with the saag sauce and plenty of oil. Then I sampled the chicken curry, which was equally rich and superbly flavored with an array of spices. Both of the North Indian food curries I enjoyed at Bhape Da Hotel restaurant in New Delhi, India, were outstanding and I would gladly take another pilgrimage there just to eat them. They were both extremely rich and oily, but they sure are worth it every now and then.

We started our Indian street food tour in Kolkata by warming up with a nice Indian breakfast, right on the street corner. You can order samosas, potato curry chickpea sabzi, jalebi, and hot tea as well. All of these go so well in the morning and wake you up and get you ready to start your day.
After that amazing Indian street breakfast, we went to try perhaps the most beautiful and photogenic Indian street food lunch stall I've ever seen. It really was like walking up to CURRY HEAVEN! There were so many delicious curries to choose from, and there was a huge pot of CHICKEN biryani right on the street. The Chicken looked so tender and you could see the steam and all the juices were infused into the basmati rice. You could also smell the cardamom in the biryani!
After that life changing Indian curry meal, we made our way to try a bunch more delicious street foods. There were so many to choose from!

More about Rajinder Da Dhaba and its Chicken Curry:
Beginning as a small roadside dhaba 50 years ago, Rajinder Da Dhaba is now a legendary street food joint in Delhi. Its rags to riches story is well known and despite its popularity, its food quality hasn’t gone down.
Rajinder Da Dhaba is divided into 3 parts – Rajinder Xpress, a casual dining restaurant which has a little bit of seating but majorly people stand outside in the parking lot to enjoy the food. They specialize in tandoori dishes. Next to it is the main Rajinder Da Dhaba, which serves curry items like Chicken Curry and Butter Chicken with naans. The last outlet is called RDX, which is the only Rajinder space that serves alcohol.
Besides its famous Chicken Curry, it is also known for its Butter Chicken, Tangdi Kabab, Afghani Chicken, Mutton Tikka, Tawa Chicken Tikka, Kathi Rolls, and even its vegetarian dishes like Dal Makhani.

It was really a true vegetarian HEAVEN! We started our Indian street food tour with an amazing INDIAN BREAKFAST made of spiced potatoes and cauliflower known as Aloo Gobi. It was served with a puri and was quite spicy and very cheap. It was definitely a delicious street food to have in Varanasi India.

After this, we walked DEEP into another lane and found a MALAI milk cream spiced with saffron. It was very delicious, frothy, creamy, and sweet.
Next up, we went for another milk based street food in India, the LASSI. It was quite sweet as well and was served with a ton of pistachio! After finishing our delicious Indian breakfast street food in Varanasi, we went for a HUGE Indian lunch at a famous Indian restaurant in Varanasi. The Indian recipes here were absolutely delicious. There were some baked dumplings that were super unique, you’ll have to watch the street food vlog to find out why, but they were definitely worth coming for. All the flavours here at this Indian restaurant were spicy, tangy, sweet, astringent, and overall very healthy and we would definitely come back to eat more of this delicious food.
After this, we went for our final street food in Varanasi, the paan. It was packed with spices and very cheap. A very strong flavour that I’m not sure I would eat again, but definitely worth trying once on the streets of India
The street food restaurants in Varanasi, India, are listed below
1) Delicious Indian Breakfast Street Food Poori and Sabzi - The Ram Bhandar
2) Malai - Same alleyway as this delicious Indian breakfast
3) Lassi at Blue Lassi Shop
4) Amazing Indian Lunch Feast at Baati Chokha Restaurant
5) Paan at Keshav Tambul Bhandar

Street Food in Pakistan - ULTIMATE 16-HOUR PAKISTANI FOOD Tour in Lahore, Pakistan!
Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market):
SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos every week:
T-shirts and caps:
Also, just published a full Pakistan travel guide:
I’m very excited to share this first full street food in Pakistan video with you! We started our trip in Lahore, a vibrant, colorful, and packed full of food city. Our first day in Lahore turned out to be a 16 hour street food marathon in Lahore, and it was an amazing day!
Get more details on my Pakistan Travel Guide:
Sadiq Halwa Puri ( - We began the day with a very common breakfast throughout Pakistan, halwa puri, but along with chana curry (chickpea curry). We ate off the car, enjoying every bit of the freshly fried puris and curry.
Total price - 640 PKR ($4.78)
Chacha Feeka Lassi ( - Next we drove over to Gawalmandi, one of the most legendary areas in Lahore for food. We headed straight to a breakfast staple, the lassi shop and had the most creamy heavy milkshake I’ve ever had, called a pera lassi.
Roasted chickpeas - 25 PKR ($0.19) - After exiting an alley, right in front of us was a man selling chickpeas and corn roasted in black Himalayan salt. It’s a very common street food snack in Pakistan.
Sweet potato - 80 PKR ($0.60) - Sweet potato is also a very common street food snack in Lahore, seasoned with masala and a type of citrus juice.
Baba Kulfi Wala - Next we headed over to Shah Alami Market, another huge and bustling market in Lahore.
Kulfi - 20 PKR ($0.15) each - One of the most famous places to eat ice cream in Lahore is Baba Kulfi Wala, and you’ll find a crowd of people standing around the corner of the road eating sticks of their famous kulfi.
Orange juice - 50 PKR ($0.37)
Chana chaat - 120 PKR ($0.89) per plate - One of my personal favorite Pakistani street food snacks of the day was chana chaat, a chickpea snack. He added in all sorts of spices, chutneys, and seasonings, to create a deliciously refreshing snack.
Butt Karahi Tikka Restaurant - Easily one of the most well known restaurants in Lahore is Butt Karahi, specializing in curry made in a rounded pan, called a karahi (we will be eating a lot of karahi’s in Pakistan!). We ordered both a mutton karahi and chicken karahi. Both were amazing, filled with spices and butter, but the tenderness of the mutton was the winner.
Total price - 5,600 PKR ($41.84)
Siddique Fish Corner - You’ll notice that Lahore seems to come alive at night, and street food is everywhere at night. We began the evening with Siddique Fish Corner, one of the best fried fish stalls in Lahore. It was awesome, and so busy.
Total price - 400 PKR ($2.99)
Khalifa Balochi Sajji - Another Pakistani dish I wanted to try was chicken sajji, a type of hand rotisserie chicken. The atmosphere and cooking method was incredible.
Total price - 390 PKR ($2.91)
Khan Baba Restaurant - Finally for our last dinner on this 16 hour day of food in Pakistan, we went to one of Ali’s favorite restaurants in Lahore, Khan Baba. The goat chops were impressive as was the korma curry.
Again, massive thank you to Ali, from Pakistan Travel Mart for hosting us in Pakistan, taking us around, and organizing everything.
