This temple is built in Morgaon of Pune district, which is about 50 kms away from Pune city of Maharashtra state. This temple is both the beginning and the end point of Lord Ganesh's Ashtavinayak.
If you do not come to the Morgana temple at the end of Ashtavinayak's journey, your traveler is considered incomplete. This temple is not only one of Lord Ganesh's Ashtavinayak, but also one of the oldest temples from India.
Morgana is one of the most prominent and main areas of Ganapati sect, where Lord Ganesha is worshiped as the main deity. It is said that when Lord Ganesha had killed demonic demon Indus, this temple was originally created.

Morya Gosavi (मोरया गोसावी) alias Moroba Gosavi is a prominent saint of the Hindu Ganapatya sect, which considers the elephant-faced god Ganesha as the Supreme Being. The tomb of Morya Gosavi at Chinchwad attracts many Ganesha devotees. मोरया गोसावी हे १४व्या शतकातील गाणपत्य समाजातील संत होते. ते मोठे गणेशभक्त होते. त्यांचा जन्म पुण्याजवळील मोरगाव येथे झाला. त्यांनी मोरगाव येथे मयुरेश्वराची स्थापना केली. गणपती बाप्पा मोरया मधील मोरया त्यांच्याच संदर्भात आहे. अष्टविनायक यात्रेची सुरुवात करण्याचे श्रेय पण त्यांनाच देण्यात येते. ते शाहू महाराज व पेशवे बाळाजी विश्वनाथ यांचे समकालीन होते. त्यांनी पुण्यातील चिंचवड येथे संजीवन समाधी घेतली.

Shri Mayureshwar Mandir (Marathi: श्री मयूरेश्वर मंदीर) or Shri Moreshwar Mandir (Marathi: श्री मोरेश्वर मंदीर) is a Hindu temple (mandir) dedicated to Ganesha, the elephant-headed god of wisdom. It is located in Morgaon (Marathi: मोरगाव) in Pune District, about 80 kilometres (50 mi) away from Pune city in the Indian state of Maharashtra.[1] The temple is the starting and ending point of a pilgrimage of eight revered Ganesha temples called Ashtavinayaka.
Morgaon is the foremost centre of worship of the Ganapatya sect, which considers Ganesha as the Supreme Being. A Hindu legend relates the temple to killing of the demon Sindhu by Ganesha. The exact date of building of the temple is unknown, though the Ganapatya saint Morya Gosavi is known to be associated with it. The temple flourished due to the patronage of the Peshwa rulers and descendants of Morya Gosavi.

Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary
Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary situated near Pune in Morgaon, Baramati. Mayureshwar Sanctuary is mostly made of a dry deciduous scrub forest of Acacia. Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary is not only popular for its birds and wildlife population, but also it's a natural environment. It is possible to see the Indian gazelle or chinkaras. Tourists are allowed to drive their vehicles inside the sanctuary as well as on foot.
With time more and more grasslands and scrublands are taken under cultivation to meet the human needs. Mayureshwar is one such grassland surrounded by civilization and which in spite of all its challenges has maintained a protected and flourishing environment for its wild dwellers. With vast open grounds and beautiful landscape, Mayureshwar is an excellent tourist spot for wildlife lovers. Hope you enjoy the film.
