Dana Wharf is the premiere year-round whale watching company in Dana Point. Beginning in 1971 we are the pioneer of whale watching adventures in Orange County, California.
We interact with over 1000 whales during the Gray whale migration in the winter and view hundreds of 90 feet Blue whales in the summer. Sightings of Orca, Humpback, Sperm and Finback Whales are not uncommon.
In addition to whales, thousands of dolphins, sea lions, sea faring birds and even sharks are found year-round in our waters, so we always have plenty of wildlife to see.

California, Golden State of Mind (Seal Beach, CA)
This is a vlog about my mom, Shadae and my going to Seal Beach California to chill out. The best way to recharge ur batteries is to smell the ocean with family. California is the cream of the crop when is comes to this mentality. The world should take note.

“Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.”

HIKING IN DANA POINT HEADLANDS ORANGE COUNTY CA : FULLTIME RV LIVING
For mother's day Deidre wanted to go for a hike, she decided to the beautiful Dana Point Headlands restoration area in Orange County California. It's a beautiful hike that starts at the preservation building atop the hill and winds its way all the way down to the beach. You then have the option of hiking back to the top, or using the route we chose. There's a machine that can best be described as a horizontal elevator called a funicular that can take you back up to the top.
Once you reach the top, you continue the hike to the crest of the hill, which provides gorgeous 360 degree views of Dana Point California. Definitely worth the trip if you're in the area.

~ wave ~ Santa Monica Arts and Culture, Episode 1 human | nature
~ wave ~ Episode 1 human | natureexplores the creative process of Luchita Hurtado, Luis Alfaro and Kelly Berg.
Luchita Hurtado is a painter from Santa Monica and has produced work since the 1940s. This segment focuses on her recent retrospective exhibition at the Annenberg Community Beach House and her current work that concerns the environment.
Luis Alfaro is an internationally celebrated playwright, director, curator, producer, educator and community organizer. As a Resident Artist for the Annenberg Beach House, he began writing a new play called 'Mother of the Row' that explores the complex characters of skid row through the influence of Bertolt Brecht's 'Mother Courage'.
Kelly Berg's first exhibition, Unknown Horizon, at Craig Krull Gallery is influenced by extreme weather, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and geology inspired by her explorations of the Meramec Caverns in Missouri and the Kilauea Caldera in Hawai'i. She employs acrylic, metal mesh, plaster, inks, scratchboard and other mixed media in a process she equates with geological layering and excavations, representing the fleeting moments of intense energy, the slow growth of stalactites, and the scratching away of time.

Dream Becomes Reality With Butterfly Park in Garden Grove
The City of Garden Grove recently unveiled the Spirit of 76 Mini Park. The drought tolerant oasis on Lampson Avenue and Brookhurst Street is the result of a dream and some hard work on the part of the City's Public Works Department. The beautifully renovated strip of land is now a monarch butterfly demonstration garden and habitat. GGTV3's Britt Johnson has the story.

Awesome Homes With A View In Southern California
Southern California Homes and Land with Awesome Views

A View , is a View, is a View and Then Some
You've finally gotten to that place in life where you can live in that dream home and it must have a view. A view of what, I ask?? The city skyline, the mountains, the crashing surf, the distant ocean, the valley below, or the fairway, as you can see, a view can mean many things. And with most topics in real estate, the 3 most important things to think about are; location, location location. Views can also vary in awesomeness. The 360 degree panoramic view on the hill to the peak-a-boo view that only shows up when the wind blows to push the sycamore tree out of the way, all of these will be described as view homes or view lots. Every view will affect the price, usually in a positive manner, depending on the impact of the view. As you determine what type of awesomeness you are looking for, you should keep the following things things in mind.

Properties with Views Have Added Value
It is very difficult to quantify the dollar amount a view adds to a property. In rare cases, the view can slowly turn into a detriment over time. Most people have heard stories like the home with a beautiful valley view that slowly turned into a view of the local landfill. If you were to walk into your typical new Southern California housing development, you would find a handful of lots that are designated as premium lots or view lots. Generally speaking, due to the topography of the land and/or the way the developer was able to cut the lot, these lots have extended views. These views aren't available on the more commonplace lots in the subdivision. They usually sit a little higher than most of the lots and the developer took advantage of this physical aspect by making sure a wrought iron fence was installed around the lot instead of a wall or wood fence. You will also notice that these lots have a healthy premium attached to the price. Views mean everything to residential real estate. Homes located on cliffs or on hillsides have built in views, which are generally the most desired of all view locations. When thinking about real estate with a view, think about the impact of the view and the staying power of that impact.

Potential Pitfalls of the Coveted View Lot
View homes come with their own set of issues that should always be thoroughly investigated before you commit to a purchase or custom build. It may seem obvious, but the foundation and dirt the home is built on should be evaluated by reliable professionals before anything else happens. Soft soils and cut lots should always be studied for proper compaction. Lots near water or mountain faces need to look for potential erosion. Being that we live in Southern California, earthquake faults and land movement are real issues that should be studied to avoid potential problems. Another possible problem that can occur is a disappearing view. One should always look into nearby development possibilities or landscaping that slowly steal the view away. The last thing you want to happen is to pay a kings ransom to get the perfect view home and 5 years later your looking at 15 story office building instead of the valley floor. Keep in mind that many view areas are closer to mother nature. She doesn't always cooperate with fire threats, floods, and storms. Fortunately for us, there are many qualified professionals out there who can help us when navigating the potential pitfalls with a view property. If a view is what you are after, homework and research will prove to be your best friend.
Big Bend Bridge California
Paradise in California, just a few miles from Auburn. I went there to check out the river for possible gold prospecting. Great gold traps in the schist along the river. Lots of bedrock. Beautiful day, sunny with crystal clear water. Great hiking trail to the falls.
Beach Walking for all Ages
Beachwalking is great exercise - in this video we learn about a group of senior citizens who use the scenic boardwalk in Manhattan Beach, California to stay in shape all year round and practice for ambitious multi-day hikes on nearby Catalina Island. You can go from town to town and actually see more than on just on a morning walk. The importance of having the long distance is an entirely different experience.
