Near Gifu Castle, there is a quaint little 'Squirrel Village' filled with the adorable creatures. You can enter, feed them, pat them, take photos and much more, for just 200 yen! If you're passing through the region (there are Your Name tourist spots in this region), you should consider making a stop here for the view AND the village.

Hello!!!!
We went to the Gifu castle in Gifu, Japan. The castle is on top of Mt. Kinka (aka Kinkazan). It is about 50 mins to get to the top by walking. You can also take a cable car to the top. This is pretty close to the Gifu Station. If you have a chance to come to Gifu, I highly recommend this place to visit.

Don't really know what to do in during a pitstop in Gifu?
Hoping to catch where Oda Nobunaga always sleep?
Check out this place in Gifu! It's near Gifu station and probably a 20minutes bus ride from the station. Take the city loop line and do note for Gifu Park/Castle signs or landmark.
Gifu Castle is situated at the top of Mt Kinka, which I myself did not know which mountain was I on until further research after the trip.
Mt Kinka Ropeway round trip: 1080YEN
Gifu Castle + Museum entry fee : 200YEN
Squirrel Village entry fee: 200YEN
XianJin tripping: Priceless
P.S if you're super adventurous, you can actually climb it up yourself.
P.P.S the view of the Nagara River is superb from the top of the Gifu Castle!!!!!!!!!

金華山に生息するリスは、昭和11年岐阜公園を中心に「躍進日本大博覧会」が開催され たとき、当時珍しいタイワンリスが観衆の見せ物として多数持ち込まれました。 この時の リスが集団で金華山に逃げ込み、野生化したと言われています。

I climbed Kinkazan.
Kinkazan is located in Gifu-city.
I took a ropeway, and went to a mountain top.
There is a squirrel village in a mountain top.
I entered inside the cage of a squirrel.
I fed a squirrel inside it.
The summit of Kinkazan There is Gifu-jyo Castle.
It's possible to look at the very wonderful scenery from the top floor of the castle.

Kinka-Zan atau gunung Kinka termasuk gunung terdekat dengan stasiun gifu, dan tidak terlalu tinggi.
Diatas kinka-zan terdapat kastil gifu (gifu jyou) didalamnya terdapat meseum fosil batu, baju perang dll, yg pernah digunakan oleh nobunaga pemimpin Kerajaan di gifu.
Sayangnya kita belum bisa masuk karena terlalu sore.
Jadi hanya menikmati matahari terbenam saja.

金華山ロープウェー
岐阜公園と金華山の山頂駅を約3分で結ぶロープウェー。眼下には自然林に覆われた金華山と長良川の自然美、岐阜市の街並みが一望できます。
山頂駅付近には、リス村や売店、展望レストランも併設されています。
毎年夏季は夜間も運転され、夜景を楽しむ多くの人に利用されています。

Cable car linking Gifu Park and Kim Huashan mountain station in about three minutes. Natural beauty of Mt. Kinkazan is covered with natural forest and the Nagara, Gifu city skyline views.
Summit station offers squirrel village, shop and restaurant.
Many people every year during the summer months is driving at night, enjoy the night view is used.
