It's good, it's energy efficient, you know you're going to save on electricity, you're going to live comfortable, I think that's a good idea. I think there should be more of those, but I mean, it's just a crawl, you know it's a snail's pace.
8. Medium shot of a sign beside house
9. Medium shot of Global Green sign on desk
10. Wide shot of John Moore talking with a colleague
11. SOUNDBITE (English) John Moore, Program Associate for Global Green USA:
You know one of the major underlying principles of this project is to sort of draw a line in the sand against global warming and to say exactly where we will not give up. So the Lower Ninth Ward and Holy Cross in particular has kind of become a place where we've decided to say that you know no, we will not allow these community members to become victims of environmental hazards and essentially to become environmental refugees.

15. Wide shot of Michael Lopez presenting 'green' roof
16. SOUNDBITE (English) Michael Lopez, Green Building Program Associate for Global Green USA :
We are actually to date after two weeks of the commissioning of our PV (photovoltaic) system, we have delivered approximately 420 kilowatts of energy and only consumed 85 kilowatts. Then also for example with our water conservation, we are capturing 100 percent of our rainwater runoff in a 1000-gallon cistern and hopefully we'll be able to use that as a non-potable indoor reuse for flushing toilets and things like that.
17. Mid shot pan of abandoned house next to restored house
18. Wide shot of damaged house
19. Close up shot of fence
20. Pan right as Dashiell enters office
21. SOUNDBITE (English) Pam Dashiell, Chair of the board of the Holy Cross Neighbourhood Association and Co-director of the Lower Ninth Ward Centre for Sustainable Engagement and Development:
It helps the community, it helps the world, it helps the environment, and it puts money in people's pockets. Energy efficiency is a primary driver of green building and that energy efficiency especially in this climate and in this age of super high bills and crazy charges is something that is a positive tangible benefit for the people who live here.

Bringing creativity and capital to distressed communities in the U.S. | Agnes Dasewicz
The United States is the richest country in the world – yet across the country, there are deep pockets of persistent poverty. What can be done to turn these communities around? Are there lessons to be learned from how the international community helped lift people out of poverty in post-Soviet Eastern Europe or through aid and investment in Africa?
Agnes Dasewicz has over 20 years of experience in private equity and impact investment in emerging markets and most recently, she served as the Director of the Office of Private Capital and Microenterprise at the U.S. Agency of International Development where she led the Agency to design and implement several key initiatives at the nexus of commercial investment and development finance. As an RF Fellow, she is working on a project titled Opportunity America which focuses on increasing knowledge and identifying opportunities to create and finance sustainable infrastructure and economic growth in the US.

USA: CONCERT IS PLANNED TO PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL HARMONY
English/Nat
Former world champion boxer Muhammad Ali and the man who now calls himself The Artist, formerly known as Prince are doing their bit for equality.
The two celebrities announced plans for a grand benefit concert being organised to promote international harmony and tolerance.
The concert -- World Healing Honours -- is planned for Los Angeles in October.
The man who used to dance like a butterfly and sting like a bee and the artist formerly known as Prince held a joint press conference in Washington on Tuesday.
They were announcing a joint venture -- an October benefit concert in Los Angeles that will include live performances from a number of well known musicians.
All proceeds will go to the Muhammad Ali World Healing Project, created by Ali as part of an international campaign against bigotry and prejudice.
Muhammad Ali hopes to draw attention to the project by acting as one of its promoters.
He hopes that it will receive the same attention as his sporting achievements in years gone by.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
We hope that in October the world will focus on Muhammad with the same intensity that three billion people watched Muhammad light the Olympic Flame in Atlanta last summer. And we hope that whenever people think of Muhammad they think of healing.
SUPER CAPTION: Lonnie Ali, Muhammad Ali's wife
The Artist, formerly known as Prince said he will provide a special performance at the October event.
He also told the press that he hoped to highlight the initiative as one of the most important events ever to have taken place.
SOUNDBITE:
It's important that this event not be taken lightly and I'm going to do everything in my power to get everybody that I know involved to make this the biggest, most important thing that the World has seen.
SUPER CAPTION: The Artist, formerly known as Prince
