The Museum of Innocence, Istanbul, Turkey – متحف البراءة في اسطنبول
This museum is based on the novel “The Museum of Innocence.” The novel was written by Turkish novelist and Nobel-laureate Orhan Pamuk. It was published in 2008. It is about events in Istanbul between 1975 and 1984. A love story between a wealthy businessman Kemal and a poor distant relative of his, Füsun. The novel is about Istanbul’s upper class in the European side of the city. It explores the “pretensions” of upper-class Turks.
Pamuk developed the idea for the museum and novel in parallel. Pamuk won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2006. The museum was set up in a 19th-century house in Cukurcuma (the antique district). Pamuk himself collected and set up these displays. They are 'real' objects of a fictional story. His Nobel prize money went towards building this museum.

تبقى رواية «متحف البراءة» مختلفة في ذاكرتها، والتي أصدرها اورهان باموق عام 2008م، أي بعد نيله جائزة نوبل عام 2006م. فبينما كان العالم يحتفي به وبجائزته، كان هو منشغلاً بوضع الحجر الأساسي لمتحف صغير يضم كل الأشياء التي سردها في روايته «متحف البراءة» وذكريات انبثقت من روايته، والتي استخدمها الشخوص، تخص الفترة الزمنية التي سردها وهي بين عام 1950 إلى 2000م
متحف الخردة الإنساني :
أما المتحف الذي أطلق عليه باموق «متحف البراءة»، على اسم الرواية، فكانت تسميته تلك متعمدة.. ليصبح في سياقه النقدي، وهو نقد كبير لأنه متحف تصنف الأشياء الموجودة ضمن ما بعد الحداثة، فلا كنوز ثمينة هنا بل أدوات اليومية مرتبطة بالسرد، حميمية بالنسبة لنا جميعاً تستحق العرض.
إذ أخذ يبحث عن الخردوات التي تشبه ما كان قد وصفه في أحداث روايته، وقد ساعده أهله وأصدقاؤه في تجميعها، ليضمها في هذا المنزل الصغير والمتواضع الذي حوله إلى متحف يقع في حي «بيوغلو» الوديع والبسيط والذي بني في القرن التاسع عشر، والواقع في شبه جزيرة إسطنبول في جانبه الأوروبي.
وفي شارع «جكورجوما» الذي يبعد عن ساحة تقسيم الشهيرة عشر دقائق سيراً على الأقدام، اشترى أورهان باموق المنزل ليحوله إلى متحف، ليصبح أول متحف يروي الرواية صوتاً ولمساً، يحمل خردوات وأشياء وأدوات تعود إلى تلك الحقبة، تم تصفيفها بشكل مؤثر ومدهش لكل زائر.
وكل تلك الأدوات المنثورة الفوضى والمزدحمة، بدت كأنها بلا فوضى، كانت تخص البطلة في الرواية «فوسون» وحبيبها كمال، وكل من كان يعمل في شركاته الخاسرة في الرواية.
يضم هذا المتحف الصغير جداً في مساحته والكبير جداً في دهشته وإنسانيته، أكثر من ألف قطعة مدهشة، تعني جداً الزائر، خاصة قارئ الرواية قبل زيارته، والجميل أن المتحف يثير تساؤلات مَن لم يقرأ الرواية، خاصة عن أولئك الأشخاص المتعلمين الذين سقطوا جميعهم في الحب، كما تروي الرواية.
فحكموا على أنفسهم بالوحدة، لتصبح الرواية مثيرة للاهتمام، وبالمقابل يظهر المتحف بصورة مؤثرة، لما يحمل من معروضات إنسانية تلامس الواقع المعاش وقبل سنوات قليلة من القرن العشرين، ليحفظ أورهان باموق ذاكرته وذاكرة من معه قبل أن تتلاشى.
المتحف ذو طابع فريد للأشياء التي حولنا وما نعيش به خلال يومياتنا، وما نلامسه عن قرب، كصناديق صغيرة نحتفظ بها والمِمْلَحَة «مِرَشّةُ المِلْح» وسجائر تصل في أعدادها إلى 4213 قطعة.. ليعبر مجازاً عن ما دخنته «فوسون» خطيبة البطل.. إذ حُفظت في صندوق زجاجي، بالإضافة إلى لوحات وخرائط وأحذية وصور لشوارع إسطنبول في تلك الفترة، وأزياء النساء وملاعق وسكاكين وصحون، وكل الأمور التي لا تخطر ببال أحد أن يحتفظ بها.
أصر أورهان باموق، حين افتتح «متحف البراءة» عام 2012م، على أنه يستطيع أن يكون مستقلاً عن الرواية، رغم الاسم ذاته ورغم ما تم وضعه في المتحف ليعكس ما تم سرده. «متحف البراءة» ويعني البراءة لتلك الكائنات البريئة، ليصيغ المتحف نفسه من كائنين بريئين وقصة حبهما في المفارقات الطبقية وتاريخ مجتمع إسطنبول.
وأن تعيش عائلة مدة خمسين سنة في رواية تتحول إلى بضائع في متحف متواضع في إسطنبول، ويصبح عظيماً، لأنها كائنات تم إنشاؤها من روح المكان، فتتجمد في المتحف وفي الوقت المناسب، يا لخيال الروائي الذي استطاع أن يحشو 83 فصلاً من الرواية في متحف، كأعمال معروضة يعود عمرها إلى ما بين عامي 1950 و2000م، لتنتقل الأشياء بإحساسها إلى الزائر ببراءة.
في منطقة «بيوغلو» بالقرن الذهبي في شبه جزيرة إسطنبول وفي القسم الأوروبي.. وسيراً على الأقدام، ثمة رحلة جميلة وأنت تشاهد الأزقة الضيقة والعريقة التي تحمل عبق الماضي. تظهر لك محلات صغيرة جداً وعديدة تضج بالتحف والخردوات المغرية والمحيرة في اقتنائها أو تركها.
يحتوي المتحف على خردوات لا حصر لها، فناجين وملاعق وأباريق وأقلام وصور وأحذية وأكواب. تدخل كلها في روح السرد، وما كان يريد باموق التلميح له في روايته من ناحية العلاقات ومفاهيم البرجوازية التي تخلت عن هويتها، منح المتحف لمحة عن حياة الطبقة الارستقراطية في المجتمع.
كما يعكس المتحف الرواية لا الرواية تعكسه، وذلك بمعروضاته المستوحاة منها، ورغم قلة تكلفة المتحف، مقارنة بالمتاحف الكبرى، إلا أنه يحمل قصصاً إنسانية كثيرة، بعيداً عن الكنوز المادية. وسمي المتحف بـ«متحف البراءة» ضمن سياق نقدي لأنه ينضوي في إطار: ما بعد الحداثة، لذا ليس من المفترض أن يكون كلاسيكياً.
زوار المتحف :
من يزر المتحف يستمتع بالدليل الصوتي الشارح باللغتين التركية والإنجليزية، وكما يقول مؤرخ الفن الشهير سيمون شاما، إنه أكثر المتاحف إثارة للإعجاب، ليس لأنه يعنى بالفن المعاصر فقط، بل في الطريقة الإنسانية والبريئة في عرض ما لا نتوقعه من أدوات وأشياء نكاد ننساها.
الجميل أيضاً أن الزائر التركي يستطيع التبرع بأغراض قديمة كان قد احتفظ بها، لكونها ذاكرة حميمة تعود إلى فترات سالفة، لتأخذ بدورها طريقها إلى العرض، ويسلط الضوء عليها قبل الغفلة عنها ونسيانها. وأخيراً، سيدرك الزائر في المتحف ما لم يدركه أثناء قراءته رواية «متحف البراءة».
Walking through the Fancy Life in Nişantaşı and Teşvikiye Quarter of Istanbul
Nişantaşı is a quarter of the Şişli district and is located on the European side of Istanbul. Around Nişantaşı are some small neighborhoods like Teşvikiye, Maçka, Osmanbey and Pangaltı. When it stoped raining after days in Istanbul, i came to have a walk in the quarter of Nişantaşı, Teşvikiye and Maçka.
Nişantaşı today is an elite shopping and district and residential area. The Nobel laureate Turkish novelist Orhan Pamuk, is a local resident of this quarter.

You can find many eateries, also gourmet restaurants serving from the traditional Turkish Food to the best of the international cuisine. In charming cafes locals are sitting and meeting for a Glass of Wine or a Cappuccino.
I also passed by the Technical University of Istanbul (ITÜ) and visited a cemetery from the Ottoman Times.

The Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk talks about his novel The Museum of Innocence (Turkish: Masumiyet Müzesi).
The Museum of Innocence is both a novel and a museum. From the very beginnings of the project Pamuk has conceived of novel and museum together. The novel, which is about love, describes life in Istanbul between 1950 and 2000 through memories and flashbacks centred around two families. The museum presents what the novel's characters used, wore, heard, saw, collected and dreamed of, all meticulously arranged in boxes and display cabinets.

First anniversary For Orhan Pamuks Museum Of Innocence
The Museum of Innocence, defined as where Time is transformed into Space, is celebrating its first year.
The museum was imagined word by word, item by item, picture by picture over a very long term by Orhan Pamuk, and has been open one year, four years after the release of his novel The Museum of Innocence in 2008.
During this year, 40,000 people have visited the museum, and now it is considered to be the most-mentioned Turkish museum in the world press. A total of 15,000 of these visitors were international, and 10,000 were students. On the other hand, 6,500 of the visitors had their ticket stamped on the last chapter of their books and visited the museum for free. The visitors have bought Füsun's earrings and Kemal's broken heart along with posters and postcards in the museum shop. The most frequently asked question to the museum staff was about the missing photographs of Füsun and Kemal.
The museum has also attracted arts professionals -- artists, curators and arts managers -- as an artistic installation and with the new understanding that it has innovated in the field of museology.
The museum has been also visited by leading names of contemporary art and literature such as Glenn Lowry, director of MOMA (New York); Dr. Achim Borchardt-Hume, director of exhibitions at TATE (London); Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, curator of the 13th Documenta; Catherine De Zegher, curator of the 5th Moscow Biennial; and Umberto Eco. As Eco was accompanied by Pamuk on a tour of the Museum of Innocence, he paid most attention to the East-West Clock and once more proved that he is a good reader when he asked why Füsun's earring was missing from Box No. 47.
Following the nomination of Museum of Innocence for the architecture category of the Designs of the Year Awards of the Design Museum London, the replica of Box No. 14 (Edition 1/5) Istanbul's Streets, Bridges, Hills, and Squares is being exhibited at the Design Museum with the support of the British Council. In addition, the 26th chapter of the Museum of Innocence 'An Anatomical Chart of Love Pains' has been the source of inspiration for an exhibition opened on April 13 in a contemporary art space named Model in Ireland.
The visitors who come to the museum to see this love story, to remember and cherish the memory of a lost city and also to console themselves with the things will be able to hear the story of the museum in the voice of Pamuk with audio guides that will be available as of June.
Reading Kemal Basmacı's words, Museums: 1. They are not for visiting, but for feeling and living, visitors have come to the museum, located in a historical building made in 1897, and found many forgotten details of the époque 1950-2000 in Istanbul. They found gas lamps in Box No. 10, City Lights and Happiness; pictures of actors and football players rolled in chewing gum in Box No. 12, Kissing on the Lips; the ships of Istanbul in Box No. 41 Swimming on My Back; the favorite family game bingo in Box No. 58; and the passion of Turkish Classical Music in Box No. 67 Cologne. Lovers sat hand in hand in the penthouse where Basmacı lived between 2000 and 2007 and which contains the last four chapters of the novel.
Visitors have viewed scenes depicting Istanbul's past from the collages of old Turkish movies pleasantly listening to the ferry horns, clock ticking, footsteps of people walking on the pavement, children playing or music of taverns and sounds of people dining at restaurants at the Museum of Innocence, which is also a hub for the sounds and scenes of the city.
Visitors who traveled from different corners of the world only to see the museum inscribed their feelings in the memory book of the museum. Those grateful for the existence of a museum that cherishes Füsun's memory and immortalizes the story described the museum as a temple created for the power of the word and confronting not only a love story but also the story of a city.
