Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR)
the most famous attraction is Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR). Southern tropical dry deciduous type of vegetation existing here offer refuge to a variety of wildlife. Nagzira wildlife sanctuary (Apart of NNTR) is situated 50 km from Gondia. Here the virgin forest shelters 34 species of wild animals including Tiger, Leopard, Sambar & Spotted Deer, Gour (Bison), Sloath-Bear, Wild-Dog (Dhole), Jungle Cat etc. Similarly 166 species of birds are also found here. Gondia district is also famous for migratory birds like Gray-lag Goose, Bar-headed Goose, Comb-Duck, Pintail, Teal, Gadwall, Red Crested Pochard etc.

Nagzira wildlife sanctuary is located between Bhandara and Gondia district of Maharashtra. Various animals found here are, Tiger, Leopard, Bison, Sambar, Nilgai, Chital, wild boar, sloth bear, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer and wild dog. Nagzira got its name from a temple of âÂÂNagâ which is located at centre of the forest and Zira in marathi means a perennial source of water that comes out from a hill in Pongezara. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful landscape and scenic beauty here. It is really a boon for us to enjoy such beauty, hence we must realise the real worth of this and must protect it as a part of our national heritage

Leopards are very shy and solitary animals by nature. Also they are nocturnal. Known for their agility and ability to climb, they generally drag their kills up trees. Here is a small video I took in Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary (Mangezari Gate) Gondia, Maharashtra(India). A beautiful and must visit for nature and animal lovers.
