The majority of journalists around the world have chosen to develop their subject on controversial and sensational themes: violence, war, crime. But all these facts represent only 1% of our world and its inhabitants, forgetting the remaining 99% of which we never speak.
I chose to visit every country on the planet and film them to present them in High Definition format but in a raw way, without music, without comment. Simply, reality in all its truth. Thus, you will be able to make your own idea of the world in which you live.
Currently, I have already visited nearly 170 countries and my world tour continues thanks to you who follow me.

Japan's Narita airport has ancient tombs next door ! - Ryukakuji 101 Kofun - 龍角寺101号墳
Located almost within the Boso no Mura (房総のむら) historical area of Narita (and very close to the airport) we have this nicely reconstructed tomb from the 6th Century.
The obvious highlight here is the terracotta figurines i.e. haniwa (埴輪) around the tomb. In short, they were ritual figurines made to accompany the dead, read more here:
The other interesting factoid here is that there were five seperate burial facilities found within this tomb: one wooden coffin within the top of the tomb, two stone coffins at the base of the tomb, and in the inner ditch was another stone coffin and also an unconvered grave which contained the bones of 8 people ! (3 men, 3 women, one child and one infant) - seems like a couple generations of one family was here.
As you can probably tell by the 101 number on this tomb, it is in fact one of over a hundred other tombs in this area. Later on I'll make a video showing some of the others.

Q: What am I watching here ?
A: You are watching footage of a kofun/古墳 - kofun are tombs in Japan that were created during the Kofun Period (roughly between the 3rd and 7th Century AD) - this era was preceded by the Jomon and Yayoi periods, and followed by Asuka, Nara and so on. These tombs were built as burial chambers for people from Japanese imperial families and other people of higher status in society during those days. The most well-known and generally largest tombs are found around Kyoto and Osaka, but they are found all over Kansai, Kanto, Tohoku etc., and even in other parts of Japan such as Shikoku and Kyushu. Figures vary greatly, but some sources state there are over 160000 of these kofun in Japan. At times you will see haniwa on and around kofun - haniwa are terracotta figures which were made in various shapes, including being formed as people and animals.
Have a read of the the Wikipedia article for more information :
I also have a Facebook page where I post these videos. Feel free to contact me via that page if you want to connect regarding anything about kofun, particularly their promotion to tourists to Japan. Ideally I'd like to build a kofun appreciation community of sorts, but that is just a dream right now -

Sharleen travels to Japan P7 (Shibuya & Narita Airport)
Recently someone told me that no one wants to watch my vlogs so why do I bother making them? Well.. it’s my hobby and passion to create travel videos. Each time a video get posted online, I know that it can be useful to future travellers who wants to gain inspiration for their future travels. At the same time, video production allows me to be creative and it is a break free from the day to day mundane activities. There are no limits on creativity here on YouTube. I get to have my voice heard and my ideas seen, it makes me feel like there is another purpose for my existence. I’m not here for the likes, the follows or YouTube fame. Solely, I want to share and join this supporting community. So, it does not matter if now the views are at 10 or 30 and stuck there. I’m not intending to create a viral video, its here solely for my family and mine viewing pleasure, as well as any other persons who are in need for inspiration.
Japan was great and I kind of miss it already. Wanderlusting at its peak again. But I will soon be going to Taiwan and will continue to film and create. Up next on my channel should be a Thailand Vlog in 2015. Stay tuned!
Love yourself and others,
Sharleen

UPITN 2 4 80 NARITA AIRPORT DEMONSTRATION
(30 Mar 1980) More than 4,000 demonstrators rally and march peacefully to protest the planned expansion of Japan's new international airport at Narita, 40 miles east of Tokyo. Some 10,000 riot police take position around the airport, searching cars entering the airfield and barring access to all except passengers and workers. The rally passes without any of the violence of which Narita has seen in the past years. The demonstration was organised on the second anniversary of a protest and attack on the Narita airport which caused half a million dollars damage and delayed the airport's opening by nearly two months. The airport became a controversial issue from the time the government chose the site in the mid 1960s. It drew protests from farmers whose land was taken, homeowners who feared noise pollution and residents objecting to the transport of jet fuel to the airport through built-up areas. Anti-government leftists also joined in. A proposed fuel pipeline still has not been built and the airport has only one runway. As the rally nears conclusion, protestors at another site set fire to piles of tyres, sending thick clouds of black smoke billowing into the sky along the flight path. The fire eventually burns itself out and planes land as scheduled.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Narita International Airport (成田国際空港, Narita Kokusai Kūkō) (IATA: NRT, ICAO: RJAA), also known as Tokyo Narita Airport, formerly and originally known as New Tokyo International Airport (新東京国際空港, Shin Tōkyō Kokusai Kūkō), is an international airport serving the Greater Tokyo Area of Japan. It is located approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) east of central Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture, straddling the border between the city of Narita and the adjacent town of Shibayama.
Narita is the predominant international airport in Japan, handling around 50% of the country's international passenger traffic and 60% of its international air cargo traffic. As of 2016, Narita was the second-busiest passenger airport in Japan (after Haneda Airport in Tokyo), and was the tenth-busiest air freight hub in the world. Its 4,000-metre (13,123 ft) main runway shares the record for longest runway in Japan with the second runway at Kansai International Airport in Osaka.Narita serves as the main international hub of Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Nippon Cargo Airlines, and as a hub for low-cost carriers Jetstar Japan, Peach and Vanilla Air.
In 2017, Narita served 40,631,193 passengers, making it the 49th busiest airport in the world in terms of passenger traffic.
