Colorado Experience: National Western Stock Show
On a warm day in an otherwise blustery and cold January 1906, the first “Western Live Stock Show” opened in Denver under a circus tent. The event welcomed thousands of stockmen from all across the American West to show-off their animals, trade stock and encourage a meatpacking center that rivaled those in Kansas City and Chicago. Discover how the Stock Show has grown into a state treasure and symbol of Colorado’s deep agricultural roots.

Places to see in ( Denver - USA )
Denver, the capital of Colorado, is an American metropolis dating to the Old West era. Larimer Square, the city’s oldest block, features landmark 19th-century buildings. Museums include the Denver Art Museum, an ultramodern complex known for its collection of indigenous works, and the mansion of famed Titanic survivor Molly Brown. Denver is also a jumping-off point for ski resorts in the nearby Rocky Mountains.
Denver is a vibrant city with plenty of attractions for visitors, plus a diverse collection of neighborhoods that can be attractions in themselves. Many of Denver's older areas are the perfect density for exploration; you'll find an interesting mix of apartments and homes with flowery front gardens, wide flagstone sidewalks, bright green lawns and big, shady trees. Capitol Hill, Highlands, Baker, Berkeley, Uptown, Sloan's Lake, Cheesman, Washington, City and Congress Parks are just some of the neighborhoods bustling with people and places to see.
Denver has many beautiful parks that are full of colorful gardens, meandering paths, crystal clear lakes, abundant wildlife and recreation opportunities. The city has a rich pioneer history, and there are plenty of museums where you can learn all about it. It's also a very environmentally conscious city, with one of the nation’s first municipal “Green Fleets”, public transit vehicles using hybrid and alternative fuel and a city tree-planting initiative. Hop on a green bus, grab a bike or just walk around to discover Denver.
Thanks to a re-urbanization of the city's central core, Denver now has name-worthy neighborhoods with flavors that are all their own – River North (RiNo) for hipster bars and eye-catching street art, Lower Highlands (LoHi) and South Broadway for great eateries and live music, Cherry Creek for glam, Lower Downtown (LoDo) for upscale restaurants and cocktail lounges as well as the Golden Triangle and Santa Fe for arts, theater and museums. In all, there's a neighborhood and a vibe for just about anybody.

Colorado is a western state in the Rocky Mountains region of the United States of America. The highest peaks of the the North American Rockies are here, (Mt. Elbert, 14,440 ft/4,4041 m), as well as a number of other natural marvels. The state also boasts the highest overall elevation in the continental United States and is home to many diverse ecosystems for its size.
Regions
There is no universally agreed-upon breakdown of regions in Colorado. You'll often hear natives speak of a very simple structure comprised of the Eastern Slope (meaning everything east of the crest of the Rockies), or the Western Slope (everything west of the range crest), and anomalous Denver or the valley.
The breakdown below is a bit more complex, partly for reasons of style and partly because the simple east/west/Denver formulation lumps areas together that are really very disparate. It's also roughly what's used by the Colorado Department of Tourism. If you are confused by some of the boundaries, simply consult a map of Colorado counties, as many of the regions follow county lines.
Geography
Colorado is split down the middle north to south by the Rocky Mountains. To the east is a region of high prairie, dry and wide open. To the west are rugged mountains arranged in various groups or ranges. (Interestingly, the largest single range in the state, the San Juan Mountains of the southwestern quarter, aren't technically part of the Rockies.) Meandering through the mountains is an imaginary line called the Continental Divide.
This marks the flow of precipitation. Rain falling on the west of the Divide makes its way to the Pacific Ocean. Rain on the east makes its way to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. What may be surprising to visitors, however, is that, despite stereotypes, comparatively little of the state is actually mountainous. Perhaps a third of it is covered by hills or mountains, and even less is actually home to the soaring, jagged peaks for which the state is known.
Colorado has 54 mountain peaks above 14,000 ft (4,267 m) of elevation. The highest peak, Mount Elbert, rises to 14,440 ft (4,401 m) above sea level making it the highest peak in the North American Rockies. Tourism is a major industry, with skiing/snowboarding, hiking/camping, hunting, mountaineering and fishing as large sources of income for the state economy.
Colorado's population was 4,301,261 in the 2000 census, and the state's population is growing, particularly in the large towns along the Front Range where the prairie and mountains meet. These towns include the capital, Denver, and Colorado Springs, Boulder, Longmont, Loveland and Fort Collins. Many of the residents of Colorado migrated from other states so being a Colorado Native is a point of pride with many people.

Hotel details:
The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, Autograph Collection, situated in the core of downtown Denver, is a symbol rich in custom and history. Build for Peace Day 2019 at the GrowHaus
On Saturday, August 3rd a group of 21 volunteers participated at the annual Denver Justice and Peace Committee Build-for-peace and volunteer at the Annual Block Party at GrowHaus. To further our commitment to solidarity with working class, immigrant, Latinx, and grassroots movements. And, to support initiatives that challenge systems of oppression and provide opportunities for food justice for those living in unhealthy conditions.
The GrowHaus is a nonprofit indoor farm in Denver's Elyria-Swansea neighborhood, where the total population is 6,401 of whom 34% are under 18 years of age. The racial background of the community predominantly latino composed by 83% of its residents, White 10% and 5% African-american.
Elyria-Swansea, a historic working-class community established in the 1880s. The area has long been surrounded by manufacturing and transportation infrastructure, and it has the dubious distinction of being the most polluted zip code in the state of Colorado. A longtime destination for recent immigrants, Elyria-Swansea has one of the lowest household incomes in the city, and low rates of education and employment levels. In addition, Elyria-Swansea residents have historically lacked access to healthy, affordable food and suffer from high rates of diet-related illness.
Today, Elyria-Swansea faces a set of challenges related to Denver’s rapid growth. In the next ten years, I-70 will be rebuilt through the neighborhood, two new light rail lines will be completed, and the National Western Stock Show complex will be redeveloped into a year-round attraction.

Colorado Experience: Speer & the City
The turn of the 20th century sparked a massive migration to American cities, leading to an increase in pollution, crime and disease. Inspired by the beautiful modern urban aesthetic displayed in Chicago's World Fair in 1893, a City Beautiful Movement began to spread throughout the country. Denver's Mayor, Robert Speer, sought to beautify the city's buildings, parks and community areas while simultaneously constructing a controversial legacy.

More information about the video content bellow:
1. First visited by Spanish explorers in the 1500s, the territory was claimed for Spain by Juan de Ulibarri in 1706. The U.S. obtained eastern Colorado as part of the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, the central portion in 1845 with the admission of Texas as a state, and the western part in 1848 as a result of the Mexican War.
2. At 53 square miles, Denver International Airport is twice the size of Manhattan. So, if you haven't heard about the Denver airport, it's a little different from other airports. An insane amount of money went into building it...and not everyone is sure how it was spent. The airport was dedicated on March 19, 1994, and a capstone was placed inside the airport to memorialize it. This dedication stone displays the Masonic symbol of a compass with a capital G inside. Underneath the symbol, the New World Airport Commission is credited with helping fund and build the airport. Some people think there's a mysterious network of underground bunkers beneath the airport. There are some super-creepy murals that may show the New World Order's takeover. The devilish mustang statue outside the airport killed its sculptor while he was working on it.
3. Mesa Verde features an elaborate four-story city carved in the cliffs by the Ancestral Pueblo people between 600 and 1300 A.D. The mystery surrounding this ancient cultural landmark is the sudden disappearance of the thousands of inhabitants who created the more than 4,000 identified structures.
4. Colorado has almost as many dead towns (about 500) as live ones (650). Mining booms and busts left the mountains littered with more than 300 ghost towns that fascinate locals and tourists. The eastern plains and western canyon lands are also haunted by more than 200 ghost towns.
5. The capital of Colorado is Denver. It was first established during the gold rush, as several settlements were built, such as Montana City, Auraria and St Charles City. Denver was established in 1858 and gradually encompassed its surroundings. Denver City was a frontier town, with an economy based on servicing local miners with gambling, saloons, livestock and goods trading.
6. Another famous city is Colorado Springs. This is where NORAD is headquartered. Headquarters for NORAD and the NORAD/United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) center are located at Peterson Air Force Base in El Paso County, near Colorado Springs, Colorado. The nearby Cheyenne Mountain Complex has the Alternate Command Center.
7. Many restaurants claim to have invented the cheeseburger, but it was Colorado resident Louis Ballast of the Humpty Dumpty Drive-In in Denver who named it.

USA: DENVER: ENTERTAINERS PREPARE TO PERFORM FOR SUMMIT 8 LEADERS
English/Nat
Entertainers in Denver, Colorado are preparing to put on an extravagant show for summit leaders and their wives on Saturday night.
The show -- entitled Saturday Night at the Summit includes over 700 people.
Members of the Northglenn High School in Denver are among the over 700 people participating in the show at the National Western Complex.
Since they heard they would perform for the world leaders the teenagers have been practising.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
It's not really scary, it's kind of intimidating, thinking that you will be around some of the most powerful in the world and you are invited to play for them personally. That is an
honour.
SUPER CAPTION: Student of Northglenn High
The mother of one of the band says the chance to play for the leaders is causing a great deal of excitement among the 14 to 15 year-olds in the band.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
A lot of our kids are brand new and haven't had much experience, it will be their first performance so it will be something to remember.
SUPER CAPTION: Mary Peary, mother of band member
The producer of the show and volunteers are preparing an anthology of American music for the following evening in rehearsals for the orchestra and the cloggers.
The show will trace the history of music in the United States from the times America was settled to modern times in less than one hour.
More than a historically correct reproduction organisers and participants want to focus on the highlights of musical evolution.
They will bring native American music to the stage and young people acting as cloggers will represent the earliest forms of American music and dance.
Heroes of Rock and Roll music will follow, and famous country singers Lyle Lovett and Crystal Gayle will perform, joined by singers Amy Grant and Michael Bolton representing the age of pop music.
And by the time the show comes to an end it will involve many of the Denver area High School teenagers that participate in music programmes, like the ones of Northglenn High.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
It is not a bad gig singing in front of the leaders of the world either, it can't hurt their career.
SUPER CAPTION: Harry Z. Thomason, Executive Producer of the show
All participants, high school students and acclaimed stars are asked to perform without any compensation.
