The Englewood Beach area is so lovely that two counties – Charlotte and Sarasota along Florida’s Gulf Coast – insist on sharing in its beauty. Englewood’s uncrowded beach is pure and wide and has excellent facilities. The beaches are a fantastic place for shelling and finding sharks’ teeth. Golf is another past time you will have no problem finding courses all around. For those looking for nature – walking trails abound, along with bike clubs or grab the paddleboard or kayak and you will not be disappointed. Don’t forget your camera – to catch the birds and wildlife. Want to get a little more wild, you can try parasailing or rent a jetski. The area fishing also is outstanding. Great charter captains are available for hire as well. Take an eco-tour of Lemon Bay. You’ll almost certainly see dolphins, manatees, and all kinds of shorebirds and wildlife.
Don’t forget the AMAZING fishing, including Tarpon fishing in Boca Grande, which is known as “The Tarpon Fishing Capital of the World”.
You will love our laid back lifestyle but easy access to all the services you need and want.
A few of the free services I offer are: an area tour- not sure what area you will find your fit – I can help. We might even enjoy finding a few sharks teeth along the way! Welcome to Bella Terra Estero, Florida | Real Estate Listings
(Click the LINK for MORE Bella Terra Estero Homes For sale)
One of the tightest knit communities in all of Southwest Florida (and certainly one of the closest communities in Estero), Bella Terra is a gated community spanning more than 1000 acres – including 100 acres of lakes and 400 acres of conservation wildlife preserves – that really puts a premium on privacy, tradition, and neighborliness.
A relatively new development community in the region, Bella Terra is located just 3 miles east of I 75 and about 10 minutes or so from the Southwest Florida International Airport – though you’d never know it judging by how quiet, how calm, and how private this community feels. It’s almost as if driving through the gates of this private neighborhood transports you to not only another place entirely, but another time as well.
A slightly slower time, a slightly more relaxed time, a slightly more community focused and driven time. There’s quite a bit of small-town Southern charm in this development, something that many have struggled to uncover elsewhere.
But don’t let the small-town atmosphere of Bella Terra full you into thinking that it has somehow gotten lost in the past. Nothing could be further from the truth. Absolutely filled with Italian style architecture from the northern region of that country, many of the properties (real estate and rental properties alike) have a very grand and stately demeanor about them while taking advantage of very modern technology and amenities.
A state-of-the-art fitness center, a 7000 ft.² community clubhouse (available to all residents), a resort style pool and spa – with waterfall and waterslides – and a full-time fitness director providing classes in the state-of-the-art fitness center mentioned earlier all await you as a neighbor in Bella Terra.
But it’s impossible to ignore the natural beauty and splendor that this development really showcases and brings to the forefront. As mentioned above, more than 100 acres of perfectly pristine lakes and 400+ acres of wildlife conservation preserves give this man made community a sense of gravity and relationship with nature that a lot of newer developments ignore completely.
Many of the properties have been designed and engineered with the natural surroundings in mind, giving everything a very permanent feel that offers the kind of stability that most are searching for.
Because Estero (and the sandy white beaches of the Gulf of Mexico) are such a short drive away you’ll be able to jump between both worlds with ease. Spend the day shopping, eating, or taking advantage of all the entertainment and nightlife that the city has to offer while retiring at night to your own quiet little piece of paradise.
Bella Terra embodies everything people mean when they call somewhere “home”.

Canal Watch Group tours North Port's Water Treatment Plant
Our community's NEW Canal Watch Group toured the Water Treatment Plant yesterday! You're invited to join the group. Anyone who wishes to conduct observations on any stretch of canal is welcome to join. Members will become ambassadors for our canals and environmental stewards for conserving North Port’s natural resources.
One major goal of the Canal Watch Group is to educate the public on how to minimize pollutants in our water resources through communication within our communities and neighborhoods. Another goal is to observe the canals for any illicit discharge or general unhealthiness. Examples of concern include excessive fertilizing or fertilizing during prohibited wet months. Concerns also include oil sheen, illegal dumping, improper disposal of plant and animal waste, algae blooms, excessive turbidity, dead fish and other affected wildlife. To help protect our water quality, North Port City Commission unanimously approved a resolution on October 9, 2018, to encourage the voluntary non-use of fertilizer year-around.
For more information about the newly formed Canal Watch Group, please contact the Department of Public Works at (941) 240-8050 or email David Jayroe, Environmental Technician, at djayroe@cityofnorthport.com.

Alligator at Palm Island Park, Mount Dora, Florida
A resident of Mount Dora this fourteen maybe fifteen-foot alligator is known to live on Lake Dora and can be seen swimming or basking in the sun off the boardwalk at Palm Island Park, Mount Dora, Florida.
Alligators are such a majestic animal to sit and watch. The always capture our attention when we see them. As much as I have learned and know about the Florida Alligator I am still in awe at how much there is that I do not know yet. One fun fact that I have always found interesting is how to tell how big an alligator is. If you look at an alligator and look from the end of their snout up to their eyes, however, many inches there are, is how many feet long they are. Just my fun little fact for today!
If you would like to learn even more about this wonderful reptile there are numerous books that you can find to read about Florida Alligators. This book is one of my favorites for learning about Alligators.

Originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the brothers are headquartered in their adopted home state of Florida where they live next door to each other on the Myakka River, just down the waterway from their parents, Brooks and Diane Paxton.
Their unique life experiences began at an early age. Brooks was 5 and Sean 9 when their parents, took them, a third brother, Scott, a private tutor and the family's 3 cats on the road with their show band to tour this great country and other parts of the world.
The Shark Brothers both eventually hit the stage, too. Sean’s a drummer, Brooks a bass player and singer. For the better part of 20 years, they traveled and performed with their family, and later on shared the stage with artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Doobie Brothers. Those enduring close family ties, lessons learned and skills honed would prove invaluable throughout their adventurous personal and professional lives.
In the early 2000's they steered their career path in a direction that would draw on their extensive performance background and desire to create and produce content focused on topics and stories they were compelled to understand and share. Their company, Shark Brothers Multimedia, specializes in the capture and delivery of content for series, documentaries, destination and tourism promotion, innovative live streaming events, education and cause marketing.
When they're not capturing action in the field, live streaming from coral nurseries in the Atlantic Ocean and Civil War shipwrecks in the Gulf of Mexico, or creating deliverables in post-production, the brothers enjoy sharing the experiences and knowledge gained from their work through personal appearances and speaking engagements. They also remain involved with community outreach for causes they consider close to home including the sustainable use and enjoyment of natural resources, education, youth engagement with nature, and the support of our active duty military, veterans, police and emergency first responders.
Their list of clients and collaborators include the Discovery Channel, Florida Aquarium, National Geographic Society, the Punta Gorda / Englewood Visitor and Convention Bureau, Mote Marine Laboratory’s Center for Shark Research, the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation and many others.
