LISBON GUIDE and public transport all day ticket guide
Lisbon is built on seven hills, and what climbs them all is public transport. The best deal in town is an all day ticket, go anywhere, hop on and off. We show you how to purchase a ticket then take it for a few trips. Especially the 28E tram.
This is where you will find great advice on so many cruise destination ports, and here is one - Lidl sell custard tarts as good as those from Lisbon.

2. MORE ABOUT THIS VIDEO ????
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Have you been to Lisbon? It’s an incredible food city. And recently we launched our first Devour Tour there - our Tastes & Traditions of Lisbon Food Tour. And to celebrate it, I decided to make a video along with Ellis Dixon, our wonderful local operations manager and Lisbon expert. Get ready, because this Lisbon food tour is delicious!
So, where did we go?
1. Confeitaria Nacional: This place has been open since the early 1800s and it’s a fantastic place to start your day - a bica (espresso) and a pastry surrounded by gorgeous turn-of-the-century decor.
2. Ginjinha Sem Rival: I love this tiny little shop where you can get a bottle of Portugal’s famous cherry liqueur - and also take a shot of it at the bar. This place has been going since 1840!
3. O Trevo: You have to eat a bifana sandwich when you’re in Lisbon. It’s simple, but delicious - stewed pork, and then you douse it in piri piri sauce and yellow mustard. And this was the place Anthony Bourdain visited!
4. Casa Pereira: I love how this old shop smells like coffee, tea and chocolate. And the walls are lined with incredible bottles of port. So if you want to grab a bottle of port while in the city, this is your place!
5. Trobadores: This place is straight out of Game of Thrones. And despite seemingly a little tacky, it’s actually a place locals come to. You can drink mead (fermneted honey) and grill chorizo sausage right at your table!
6. Bonjardim: Piri piri chicken is famous, and if you’re going to get it in Lisbon (and you should), this is the place! The chicken was so deliciously juicy, and the skin fabulously spicy.
7. O Gaiteiro: I love a good old school restaurant. And in Lisbon these tascas the best spots to order grilled fish: sardines, salt-cold and octopus. O Gaiteiro is a place we visit on Devour’s Lisbon food tour and it’s fantastic - great food, full of local clients.
8. Sol e Pesca: This former fishing shop still looks like… a fishing shop. Apart from the enormous display of canned fish. And please, don’t be afraid of canned fish - it can be absolutely delicious, and this is the place to try it!
9. Manteigaria: Custard tarts are everywhere in Lisbon, but not all custard tarts are created equal. These ones from Manteigaria have a wonderfully crispy and flaky pastry, and custard is like delicious molten lava. A plus, you can watch them making them through the glass window.
3. WHO AM I? ????

LISBON - Day 1 [VLOG #22]
Click 'Show More' for more details/info on our trip...
This is the first day of our 3-day Lisbon adventure.
So when we arrived in Lisbon airport, we took a taxi to our hotel (the fare was not so bad compared to how much it is in Dublin)
Stayed at the IBIS hotel in Saldanha ( ). Left our bags, and decide to stroll around for a bit since we arrived quite early and can’t check in yet.
As usual stomach first before anything else, so we took the metro to Restauradores and we tried to eat in this restaurant called Sol Dourado. ( ) Overall, seafood was great! really enjoyed it.!
Then we walked further and searched for Elevador de Santa Justa ( ) where we saw a very long queue (line) just to take the lift and its not free either. So we contemplated, until someone from a small shop across the lift approached us and told us we can take the lift in their shop to go there. So hurrah..!! shop has no name but here’s the location on map: . its literally right across where the attraction is, if you follow my video. P.S. wear good shoes when in Lisbon, its a hilly city.
After that, went back to the hotel, rested for a bit and then I woke up with this massive headache that I was trying to bear until the day ends which didn’t go so well. Anyway, we went to Castelo de S. Jorge ( ) and the view here was spectacular. It was a perfect timing for us because the sun was setting and the place looked magical.
Headache was not going away, got worse, tried to look for food cause I was think maybe I’m just hungry and it might help alleviate it. Found a small tart shop don’t know the location. Walked towards Comércio Square ( and then on to Time Out Market ( ) which was great because there was plenty of food. However, the amount of people in that place and the crowded environment didn’t help my headache at all, I suddenly started to get cold sweats until I ran for the bathroom and threw up constantly. Not sure what caused it all but by the time we got back to the hotel i felt a lot better. Had to end the vlog abruptly. Rested early which helped because the next day was a very magical day for castles.
The next vlog is more adventures of our Lisbon adventures, so stay tune for that.
Credits to everyone who made this trip happen and were cool enough to be on my vlogs.
If you liked the video give it a big 'thumbs up' and Subscribe to watch more.
Thanks for watching..!!

Lisboa Card, is it worth it?
Learn about the Lisbon Card and its advantages as an attraction, transportation, and discounts pass.
We answer to the following questions: What is Lisboa Card? What does the Lisboa Card include? How much does Lisboa Card cost? How to buy Lisboa Card? is Lisboa Card worth it?

00:00 - 00:17
Hey guys. I'm Maria from Travel Guide Lisbon and today I'm going to talk about the Lisboa Card. What is the Lisbon Card? What is included in the Lisbon Card? Where can you buy it? For how much and if it's worth it for you?
00:18 - 00:51
So, what is the Lisbon Card? The Lisbon Card is the official visit and travel card for Lisbon. It's not only museums and attraction pass, but also a travel card, transportation card within Lisbon, which give you unlimited free public transportation within Lisbon.
Not only that, it also gives you free train rides to Sintra and Cascais. Also, 25% discount on the Aerobus, which is a bus service between the airport and the city and then 25% off on the citysightseeing hop-on hop-off passes.
00:51 - 01:05
As for the museums and attractions pass, it is a discount card, which gives you free and discounted entrances on the main attractions in Lisbon and nearby towns such as in Central.
01:05 - 01:29
So, some examples of the free attractions included in the Lisbon Card are the iconic Belem Tower in Lisbon or the most famous Jeronimos Monastery. The famous Tram 28. The Elevador de Santa Justa, which was designed by Eiffel or numerous museums such as the National Museum of Azulejos.
01:30 - 02:04
For discounted prices, discounted and trip prices. For example, the Oceanarium of Lisbon. The Gulbenkian Museum. The Fado Museum and the most known world heritage sites in Sintra such as the famous Pena Palace, the Quinta da Regaleira and the Park of Monserrate, they are all included in the Lisbon Card. I have written a longer list for you on our website, Travel Guide Lisbon at the Lisbon Card. You can read there more about that.
02:05 - 02:48
So, where can you buy your Lisbon Card? You can either buy it online on our website or on the spot in Lisbon in a ticket office. I have written you a list as well on the website in which ticket offices you can buy it. Where are the ticket offices, but for example there is one straight away at the airport that at the arrival hall or on one of the main squares of Lisbon, the Praca do Comercio in the Lisbon Welcome Center. If you choose to buy your ticket online, you will receive an email with a voucher and you will have to take this voucher with you along with your passport or ID to a ticket office where you will redeem your Lisbon Card and you will also receive a small tour guide and a city map together with it.
02:49 - 03:11
So, your options are, you can buy a 24 hours, a 48 hours or a 72 hours Lisbon Card. The 24 hours Lisbon Card cost 19 Euros for an adult. The two-day pass cost 32 Euros and the three-days pass cost 40 Euros for an adult. It's free for children under the age of four.
03:12 - 03:35
Is the Lisbon Card worth it? Absolutely yes. If you manage to visit two or three attractions at least a day, then your Lisbon Card has already paid for itself. Even in the summer when in high season when you can count with longer waiting times in queues, even then, it's doable. I would absolutely recommend the Lisbon Card.
03:36 - 03:57
For example, if you spend two days in Lisbon, you can buy the 48 hours pass, but if you want to take it easy, you can only buy the 24 hours pass, and the next day, take it easy and just walk around the streets of Lisbon, you know? You don't have to be running around museums and monuments all the time you are there. You can just choose to buy a one-day pass, and one day, take it easy.
03:58 - 04:14
But you can also buy the two-days pass, and the first day, visit all the attractions in Lisbon, and the second day, you can spend the day, for example, in Sintra. Spend your day there. The Lisbon Card is perfect for that as well because, don't forget, it includes a free train ride to Sintra and back.
04:15 - 04:23
I hope you enjoyed this video. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel. Have a nice day. Bye bye.

Lisbon – Welcome to the capital of Portugal. Explore the hilly streets of this coastal city and take in the rich culture here. Check out the top spots to visit.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Lisbon:
From a Phoenician outpost to 16th-century trading giant, from the Great Earthquake of 1755 to its glorious reconstruction, #Lisbon has long been a city of shifting fortunes.
On a #visit to the waterfront, find the city’s grand gateway, Praça do Comércio. Pass beneath the triumphal arch, a tribute to the city’s reconstruction, and on to Rua Augusta to another of Lisbon’s great squares, the Rossio.
Climb aboard Tram 28, which passes some of the city’s most iconic sights, then climb the battlements of Castelo de São Jorge to see the red-tiled roofs of Lisbon spread out before you.

-Where to Stay: 0:55
We stayed at Travellers House Hostel:
-Foods to Try: 1:55
-What to Do: 5:09
Best Neighborhoods In Lisbon to stay in:
1. Baixa-Chiado
This is the heart, the center of Lisbon located near the Praça do Comércio, and surrounded by attractions, cafes and restaurants, public squares, and plenty of transportation options. One of the benefits of staying at a hotel in Baixa-Chiado is that you can walk to many places and you’ll be right in the center of Lisbon action.
2. Santo Antonio
The area of town opens up more with more space and it’s home to Avenida da Liberdade which is a huge tree lined boulevard known for shopping and designer brands.
3. Barrio Alto
Barrio Alto is a beautiful hilly district of Lisbon where you’ll find narrow lanes and plenty of local culture. There are many restaurants, cafes, and bars, tucked within Barrio Alto, and it’s also known for being one of the centers of Lisbon nightlife.
4. Alfama
Being the oldest neighborhood in Lisbon, Alfama has a beautiful charm to it and is home to a few of Lisbon’s most famed attractions like the Lisbon Cathedral.

The country of Brunei is one of them.
I went to Brunei back in 2014, three years before I made videos, but my negative experiences in the country have stuck in my mind ever since. That, combined with its absurd human rights laws such as stoning to death LGBT members, I was pushed to make this video.

20 things to do in Lisbon Travel Guide
Lisbon was the final stop of our European tour and we couldn't have chosen a better destination. 20 things to do in Lisbon, Portugal | Top Attractions Travel Guide:
Our first stop of the day was Sao Jorge Castle, which is an old Moorish fortification that sits on a hill overlooking Lisbon and the Tagus River. You can get some nice panoramic views of the city from here, and they also have peacocks roaming the grounds.
Miradouro das Portas do Sol is one of the many look out points in Lisbon that offers postcard-perfect views of the city. This particular terrace overlooks the Alfama district and it is always popular with tourists.
Carmo is a mediaeval convent that was ruined during the 1755 earthquake, and today it is used as an archaeological museum. It's a strange feeling walking down the ruined nave of the church and seeing blue skies above your head, but that's exactly what makes it worth a visit.
Another place to visit is Belem Tower. The tower was built on the banks of the Tagus River, and it was meant to act as both a defense system and a ceremonial gateway into Lisbon.
The Jeronimos Monastery is one of the most visited sights in Lisbon. It's one of the best examples of Late Gothic Manueline architecture, so have a close look at the intricate detailing when you visit.
A fun way to get around Lisbon's hilly streets is by riding the trams. There are different lines across the city, but #28 is the most popular one with visitors.
The Santa Justa lift is an elevator that connects the lower streets of Baixa with Carmo Square, and it is the only remaining vertical elevator in Lisbon. Though it is meant to serve a functional role, it is also quite popular with visitors who find the elevator a novel idea.
And that's a wrap for our week in the Portuguese capital! We hope you enjoyed this video and that it gave you some ideas of things to do in Lisbon.
