#Norwich #NorwichVikings #EastAnglia
We are a Derby-based channel hosted by Vikings Bragi and Egil. We teach about Anglo Saxon and Viking history. The original aim of this channel is to build a large database of traditional folktales and stories from the Viking sagas. This is a mission we are continuing to work on with publishing weekly folktales. We also publish weekly history content. Egil Thorsson studied Archaeology at York University in the 1980s and has been a Viking re-enactor for over 30 years and grew up in Kent.
Bragi Magnarsson was born in Derby in the late 20th century and has a passion for history, traditional crafts, and storytelling. He spent many years re-enacting with the American Civil War Society UK and has over 25 years experience re-enacting from the Iron age to WW2. The aim of this channel is to be both fun and entertaining with the aim to always improve the content from filming techniques to editing and to continue building a family-friendly community.

The History of the 'Strangers' in Norfolk, by Norfolk Record Office
During the sixteenth century many refugees arrived in Norfolk, from the Dutch and Flemish areas of the low countries- the areas we call Holland and Belgium. They settled in towns such as Norwich, where they improved the weaving industry and Great Yarmouth, where they worked on the fishing industry.
This film uses documents held by the Norfolk Record Office to demonstrate the effect of these 'strangers' moving into the county and their contribution to Norfolk which is still in evidence today.

The Paston Story - one family's rise to power
Between the late fourteenth century and the middle of the eighteenth century the Pastons were one of East Anglia's most prominent families - although their origins were far from aristocratic. They rose from medieval peasants to become nationally important members of the gentry, and key figures in the dynamic power-play and politics of the Tudor and Stuart courts. They were, in many ways, the first modern family.
The Pastons were not very different from dozens of other up-and-coming families of the later Middle Ages, struggling to establish their growing social position in one of the most turbulent periods in English history. However, what makes the Paston family truly unique is that they left a vast collection of letters and accounts of their lives in late medieval Norfolk - the now famous 'Paston Letters'. These documents tell stories of their everyday lives, as well as the wider events of the medieval world, and the enemies they made during their rise from obscurity to power. It is now 600 years since the first of the surviving Paston letters was written.

Big C - Our story begins right here in Norfolk & Waveney.
Norfolk and Waveney’s own cancer charity Big C is celebrating its 35th anniversary. This film, narrated by Martin Shaw, tells the story of Big C and highlights the great work that has been achieved over 35 years.
In 35 years, the vision of our founders is realised daily. Thanks to the wonderful community of supporters, individuals and volunteers who have worked and fundraised tirelessly, over £25million has been raised since 1980.
This money has been invested in diagnostic and medical equipment at Norfolk's hospitals enabling more people to be treated locally with faster, more accurate and less invasive treatments. Big C's support for world-class research taking place across the Norwich Research Park has funded some incredible developments in cancer research.
Big C Support & Information Centres across Norfolk & Waveney are used by thousands of patients, families and carers every year. With the kettle always on, valuable information about diagnosis, treatments, side effects and recovery is provided by trained staff; as well as practical help, emotional support, complementary therapies and much more.
Big C is as ambitious as it was 35 years ago and we will continue to do our very best to support people affected by cancer in Norfolk & Waveney.
Together we are working to improve the lives of those affected by cancer in Norfolk & Waveney.

From Reepham to Cawston, Norfolk, UK
SEE MY TRAVEL PAGE ON FACEBOOK :
This film shows the short journey between Reepham and Cawston in Norfolk.
Reepham is a small market town approximately 19km north west of Norwich. It has 2,455 residents and covers 1,909 hectares. (4,720 acres). It has been a market town since 1277. Many old buildings can be found in the town. It is noted for having three churches in one church yard, at a point where three parishes once converged. One church was lost to fire in the sixteenth century but the other two are still standing.
My channel on you tube : is one of the most prolific from Poland. I have produced around 1,800 original films, most in English. My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects.
Please feel free to ask questions in the public area or to comment on things you disagree with. Sometimes there are mistakes because I speak without preparation. If I see the mistakes myself, I make this clear in the text. Please also leave a star rating!
There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging -- - the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focusing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers.
Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!
Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!

The Paston Letters
It is now 600 years since the earliest of the documents known today as the Paston Letters was written, and over two and a half centuries since they were rediscovered in the ramshackle and ruined Oxnead Hall. Since that time they have become world famous – the earliest family correspondence in England, the oldest and largest collection of letters written in English, and a lost voice of the Middle Ages.
The letters take us around the villages and along the lanes of North and East Norfolk, and often through a plague-ridden and at times lawless city of Norwich. They take us behind the scenes of the bitter siege at Caister Castle and enable us to share in the attempted defence of Hellesdon Manor, beset by the Duke of Suffolk’s army. The turbulent years of the Wars of the Roses are chronicled from the perspective of a family trying desperately to navigate their way through troubled times, and to preserve their hard-won status and wealth.
