This restored full color version film from the MLBaron Historic Archives / The West Island Weather Station. Life in New Bedford in 1952 shows a vibrant growing city after World War 2. People at work, a bustling downtown and busy fishing fleet are depicted with a city that was growing. Local plants in the city are depicted including Titleist, Revere Copper and Brass, Aerovox, Continental Screw,the Seafood Auction, Cornell-Dubilier,The Standard-Times, paperboys, Blue Bird Taxi, New Bedford Municipal Airport and the people of mutli-cultural ethnicity at play.
Hadwen House, Nantucket, Massachusetts
Whale and silver merchant William Hadwen and his wife Eunice constructed the house at 96 Main Street ca.1845. One of the island’s best examples of the Greek Revival style, the Hadwen House was donated to the Nantucket Historical Association by Jean Salter Williams in 1965. The Hadwen House, for nearly six decades, has been used to help interpret the storied whaling period of Nantucket.

Martha's Vineyard Ferry & Island Tour Highlights (4K)
See what it was like to take a Martha's Vineyard Ferry landing in Oak Bluffs via the Steamship Authority from Woods Hole, Massachusetts. There are food and drinks available to purchase on board, and there is free Wi-Fi for the duration of the 45 minute ferry ride.
We also took a sightseeing tour of Martha's Vineyard the departed from Oak Bluffs. We went past Villa Rosa, then saw people jumping off the famous Jaws Bridge near the Joseph Sylvia State Beach. In Edgartown we passed the unusual Dukes County Jail, the Old Whaling Church and the Morning Glory Farm. We then went through downtown Chilmark before reaching Aquinnah. There we saw the beautiful Gay Head Cliffs & Lighthouse where we were able to spend 20 minutes on our own exploring the area. After going past Vineyard Haven, we returned to Oak Bluffs.
Back in town, we tried out Lobster Ice Cream, visited some of the famous Gingerbread Houses/Cottages, before checking out Ocean Park & Inkwell Beach. We then enjoyed a beautiful sunset before catching our return ferry back to Woods Hole.
This was from our visit of the scenic island and the Cape Code area in Summer 2019. This was a thoroughly enjoyable day- and we got to see why Martha's Vineyard was so appealing to so many vacationers, including former presidents Bill Clinton & Barack Obama!

The man who says that actor Kevin Spacey sexually groped him during an encounter at a Nantucket, Mass., bar two years ago apparently captured some of the assault on video, according to police documents released this week.
On Christmas Eve, the Cape & Islands District Attorney said that a criminal complaint of indecent assault and battery was filed the previous week against Spacey, 59, in connection with the alleged incident on July 7, 2016.
In state police documents, a trooper wrote that the alleged victim, the son of a former Boston TV news anchor, said that he was groped by Spacey after the House of Cards actor bought him drinks at the restaurant where he was working at the time. The alleged victim’s mother has said he was 18 at the time.

Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Secretary of State John Kerry, exhibited symptoms consistent with some sort of seizure, and was hospitalized over the weekend in Massachussetts. Spokesman Glen Johnson said Heinz Kerry, 74, became ill Sunday and was taken by ambulance to Nantucket Cottage Hospital, accompanied by her husband. Once her condition was stabilized, she was transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Police have video of Kevin Spacey groping busboy, complaint says
The 18-year-old who said that actor Kevin Spacey groped him at a Nantucket bar in 2016 took Snapchat video of the alleged assault, and investigators have that video, according to a criminal complaint filed in Nantucket District Court.
The complaint from Massachusetts State Police details an incident between Spacey and a busboy at the Club Car, a restaurant and bar on Nantucket, late on July 7 into July 8.
The busboy, who was 18 at the time, told Spacey he was 23 and studying business at Wake Forest University, according to the complaint. That night, Spacey bought him a number of alcoholic drinks, bragged to him about the size of his penis, and tried to get the busboy to go back to his house afterward, the accuser told police in the complaint. CNN's Miguel Marquez reports on new details of the case.
