On June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court made it possible for Mellissa and Tracey to get married in their home state of Texas. In order to save money for their non-profit helping adults with developmental disabilities, they decided to forgo the big wedding and get married at the Dallas Courthouse instead.
Thanks to a team of talented and generous Dallas Wedding Professionals, they got an amazing wedding at no charge to them. This is the story of how it happened.

Midland was established in June 1881 as Midway Station, on the Texas and Pacific Railway. By 1890, it had become one of the most important cattle shipping centers in the state. Midland was changed significantly by the discovery of oil in the Permian Basin in 1923 when the Santa Rita No. 1 well began producing in Reagan County, followed shortly by the Yates Oil Field in Iraan. Soon, Midland was transformed into the administrative center of the West Texas oil fields. During the Second World War, Midland was the largest bombardier training base in the country. A second boom period began after the war, with the discovery and development of the Spraberry Trend, still ranked as the third-largest oil field in the United States by total reserves. Yet another boom period took place during the 1970s, with the high oil prices associated with the oil and energy crises of that decade. Today, the Permian Basin produces one fifth of the nation's total petroleum and natural gas
output.

Dallas, Texas, USA - 6 nights on a family visit to see the city and how they celebrate Halloween
After an overnight flight from the UK to Dallas Fort Worth we saw the 4 year old girls soccer (football) team in action, visited the stockyards in Fort Worth including a rodeo ride, a stagecoach, Billy Bob's restaurant, Cowtown cattle pen maze and Texas longhorn cattle being driven down the street by genuine cowhands. Later we had some balloon twisting for tips while waiting in line for a pancake breakfast, went to White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum with its massive pumpkin patch, glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly (a temporary display), Mexican girls celebrating their Quinceanea (15th birthday). Back home we carved Halloween pumpkins. We visited the vast North Park shopping mall, downtown Dallas and the compact Arts District with the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA), Nash sculpture centre (including sculptures by Henry Moore and Magdalena Abakanwicz), the Klyde Warren Park (constructed over a freeway), Dallas Cathedral (Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe), and the Crowe collection of Asian Art. We saw their school Halloween parade and picnic before lunching in the Highland Park Village, followed by a street party and trick or treating. Birds we got on video were the American robin, black vulture and a woodpecker.

Staff action report and footage of censorship and violence surrounding the anniversary of a political assassination
Dallas Co., Texas sheriff's deputies, under federal control during special events, violently charged a peaceful crowd who were waiting to be let into the Dealey Plaza when it was promised to be open to the public at 2:30pm on Nov. 22, the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination.
When the attack began, the official ceremony was already over and Dealey Plaza was practically empty.
One deputy at the scene admitted he was just following orders from the sheriff's department.
The sheriff's department, on the other hand, was following orders from the Department of Homeland Security, who controlled the entire event.

The deputies pushed the protestors back past the Old Red Museum of Dallas County and into the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza, which is at least one block away from Dealey Plaza:
Last week, the Coalition of Political Assassinations struck a deal with the City of Dallas to allow open, public access to Dealey Plaza at 2:30pm and be allowed to leaflet the area around the assassination site.
Basically speaking, the City of Dallas suspended the First Amendment but under threat of lawsuit recognized some, but not all, of our birth rights.
It was basically a free-speech lockout in the whole city, but we've gotten that back, said COPA director John Judge. We would like to be where we were for the last 49 years [marking the day with a moment of silence.]
Half of my members wanted to go to court, and half wanted to take the mayor's offer.
In response, we traveled to Dallas to cover the City of Dallas' blatant censorship:
Because both sides of a street in Dallas are typically bordered by private property, this city ordinance nullifies our First Amendment rights to distribute flyers during a peaceful assembly in public.
The deputies marched in from behind the non-violent crowd to the very front of the rally, turned around, and opened up their own barricades to begin the assault, which continued from Dealey Plaza to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza at least one full city block away.
Prior to the attack, the protestors stayed behind the barricades and did not attempt to move them.
The intent of the police, apparently under orders by Homeland Security, was to create a free speech zone, in other words a zone banning the right to speak freely and assemble peacefully in a public place during the JFK 50th anniversary event.
One demonstrator said that after the deputies arrived in single file, they looked at each other, counted down from three and then charged the crowd.
They begin to charge, to shove and grab indiscriminately, J.W. stated. I screamed at them and said 'there are children here, there are children here!'

What I witnessed here today, I believe, is what happens all throughout history when truth is pushed to the head.
The spokesperson for the Dallas Co., Texas sheriff completely distorted details on the department's violent attack against peaceful demonstrators by stating that deputies ordered the crowd to move and disperse when no such order was given prior to yesterday's assault.
Carmen Castro, spokeswoman for Sheriff Lupe Valdez, told the Dallas Morning News that the deputies violently charged the free speech demonstrators because they were crowding not only private citizens who were attempting to pay their respects but also equipment that was in place for the event.
Yet the deputies gave no such orders to the crowd prior to their assault. As the beginning of our own footage shows, they marched to the front of the crowd with the intent to attack and nothing else

Life on the American frontier was difficult. There were no written rules for survival and no code of ethics by which to live. So the pioneers developed their own. It was called The Code of the West. Although unwritten, it is still with us today. In Houston, we celebrate our history in late February every year by turning back the clock to the era of THE OLD WEST. So this is a good time to remember THE CODE OF THE WEST.
