Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park - Mandan, ND
This is a video of Fort Abraham Lincoln near Bismarck, ND. It's a very historic place to visit. It's the site of a western fort and a Mandan Indian village. There's a nice campground right along the Missouri. I camped here for 2 days while on a RV road trip.

Plains Indians earthlodges at North Dakota's Knife River Indian Villages NHS
At Knife River Indian Village in North Dakota, earthlodge people hunted bison and other games, but were in essence farmers living in villages along the Missouri River and its tributaries. This site was a major Native American trade center for hundreds of years prior to becoming an important market place for fur traders.

On-a-Slant: Miti-bah-wah-esh Trailer
On-A-Slant: Miti-bah-wah-esh is a visual immersion into a long ago era on the Western Plains, and provides a means to 'travel through time' and 'walk through' a Mandan village as it existed ca. 1776, five years before the village's abandonment in 1781. The reconstructed village is modeled based on scholarly research of the site, the Native population, and the era, and it is as historically accurate as the documentation allows. The dramatic sights and sounds include a narrative tour of the village, preserved artifacts from the site (a bone hoe, a stone hide scraper, a horn spoon, and a clay pot), a short story spoken by Edwin Benson, believed to be the last native Mandan language speaker.

Bald Eagle Release - Dakota Zoo
Adult Bald Eagle Rehabilitated at the Dakota Zoo Returned to the Wild
An adult Bald Eagle was released at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park overlooking the Mandan Village on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at approximately 2:00 p.m. This bird was received from U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service officials on November 19, 2013 and had a major injury to a foot, rendering the bird unable to survive in the wild.
After surgery performed by Dr. Kelly Thorsness, Lewis & Clark Animal Hospital, and an extensive rehabilitation period, the bird has regained the use of its foot and has undergone wing strengthening exercises to ready it for life back in the wild.
The Dakota Zoo serves as one of the only rehabilitation centers in North Dakota and assists an average of 60 eagles, owls and hawks per year. Fort Lincoln State Park serves as a great release site, given the high ground overlooking the Missouri River. The public and media are invited to attend the release. Enter through the main entrance near the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery and proceed straight north on the main road until you reach the hillside shelter.
(L to R) Mark Zimmerman, ND Parks and Recreation Director; Terry Lincoln, Dakota Zoo Director; and Dan Schelske, Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park Manager release the eagle.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Bismarck () is the capital of the U.S. state of North Dakota and the county seat of Burleigh County. It is the second-most populous city in North Dakota after Fargo. The city's population was estimated in 2017 at 72,865, while its metropolitan population was 132,142. In 2017, Forbes magazine ranked Bismarck as the seventh fastest-growing small city in the United States.Bismarck was founded by European Americans in 1872 on the east bank of the Missouri River. It has been North Dakota's capital city since 1889, when the state was created from the Dakota Territory and admitted to the Union.
Bismarck is across the river from Mandan, named after a historic Native American tribe of the area. The two cities make up the core of the Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The North Dakota State Capitol, the tallest building in the state, is in central Bismarck. The state government employs more than 4,000 in the city. As a hub of retail and health care, Bismarck is the economic center of south-central North Dakota and north-central South Dakota.
