Travel Turin on a low budget! Let us show you all of the awesome tips and cool sights that don't cost a lot of money. Enjoy Torino!
ABOUT US:
We are the Taylors and we LOVE to travel. Even though we have 3 kids and it is hard to travel with kids, we do it anyways because nothing can replace the amazing experiences we get to have together as a family!
Traveling with kids is something we have a lot of practice with. Our first child flew on 23 flights before she was 6 months old. On the 23rd flight, someone asked us if this was our infant's first flight. Every time we go on a trip, our kids' favorite part is usually the hotel pool, but we still do it anyways.
We have gotten to visit Italy, China, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Macau, Mexico, Switzerland, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Antigua, Taiwan, Singapore internationally and sixteen states in the United States including Alaska. We hope to visit MANY, MANY more places.
If you would like to know more about our family, you can check out our companion channel, Taylor Tadpoles. There we share some of the every day experiences of our lives. That is our way to remember the in between moments.
IN OUR VIDEOS:
In our travel videos, you will find helpful hints, travel tips, information about the places, memories of our family traveling and anything to get psyched about going on your next adventure. Obviously, Traventures is a combined version of Travel+Adventures. And ALL of our videos will have our travel adventures in them.
There are a lot of YouTube travel videos that show you how much fun they had. We not only want to do that, we want to show you how you can have just as much, if not more fun! We will give you all the tips and tricks, things we learned and stories of our own mistakes and travel troubles. Subscribe to get all of this crucial information, wherever your trips may take you.

TRIP REPORT | Blue Air | Berlin TXL to Turin, Italy | Economy | Boeing 737-500 [Full HD]
Trip Report of my Blue Air Boeing 737-500 flight from Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL) to Turin, Italy (TRN) in Economy Class. Take your chance and fly the last classic 737's in europe as long as they still fly - it is such a great experience! Blue Air is based in Bucharest, Romania but also has a smaller hub in Turin, Italy. They offer really cheap flights between Berlin TXL (main airport) and Turin - sometimes for under 20€ oneway with drinks and sandwiches onboard already included! The flight time is around 1 hour and 20 minutes. Follow me around and see the leg room, cabin and seats of Blue Air on this 737-500 aircraft (YR-AMD). The Seat for this Wing View is 17A. Today a important Lamb Tour show completes 40 years: the Turin show! This show was, actually, Genesis' final ever performance in Italy with Peter (wich may make some italian fans a bit sad overrall), but i still hope everybody can enjoy the show even though! Anyway, the thing is that the awesome audience pulls off the band to play very strongly, and Peter's stage introductions between some songs is amusing as always! Unhappilly, our lovely frontman isn't at his best tonight: his voice sounds a tad instable from time to time, some of his higher note attempts doesn't sound too clean and there's instances where his voice gives out quite noticeably. It may be a tad distracting at times (especially for Phil lovers such as Dani Graef) but Peter fans will surely like this show i hope! The recording is complete and in great quality overrall, but one of the two sources used to make this complete is running too fast (it's used for half of TLLDOB and from The Lamia until the end of the show). By the way, sit through the show and enjoy it!
Turin museum initiative encourages inclusion
(6 Feb 2017) LEAD IN:
Lucky those who speak Arabic is a new campaign by Italy's Egyptian Museum aimed at drawing visitors from Egypt and other Arabic-speaking countries.
The initiative offers two tickets for the price of one to all members of the Arab community in Italy and particularly Turin, the city where the Egyptian Museum is located.
STORY-LINE:
A special visit for two special guests: Aziza Aboussabone, from Morocco, walks to the Egyptian Museum of Turin for a tour with her mother Rachida Chouiter.
At the ticket counter the two women only pay for one ticket as part of a recent initiative by the Egyptian Museum targeting those whose mother-tongue is Arabic.
Launched on 19 December 2016, the museum's campaign Lucky those who speak Arabic gives out one free ticket to every Arab couple for a tour among its treasures. The offer will be valid until 31 March 2017.
The idea is to foster social inclusion by making the museum's collections further accessible to those residents or citizens of Italy coming from Arab countries.
Museum officials say it's a way to thank Egyptians - and by extension their neighbours - for their immense contribution to culture and humanity, of which the museum's collection is one of the most celebrated examples in the world; the aim is to draw closer those who can find their own roots, identity and pride in this collection.
To further foster inclusion of non-Italian speakers, the museum features written explanations and audio guides in Arabic.
A resident of Italy like her mother, Aboussabone welcomed the initiative and says that it's a way for Italians and Arabs to share the same experience.
This is a very important project for both Arabic-speakers and Italians. There's no difference between Arabic-speakers and Italians; we're all the same, we live here, we grew up here. It's important that we also share this experience, Aboussabone says.
The museum was founded in 1824 and is the only museum solely dedicated to Ancient Egypt outside Cairo.
It is among Italy's ten most visited museums and was newly renovated in April 2015.
With the renewal came a new director, Christian Greco, an Egyptologist and professor at the University of Leiden in Holland.
Greco says that the idea of attracting Arabic-speaking visitors is the answer to Turin's growing immigrant population.
Without Egypt this museum would not exist. Without the generosity of this country we wouldn't have this magnificent collection. So it's more than natural for us to be in dialogue with communities coming from that country and coming from northern Africa, Greco explains.
There are 33,545 Arabic-speaking residents in Turin and its province, among whom there are 4,700 Egyptians, according to Etnocom, an Italian private agency monitoring the evolution of Italy's foreign population.
The path to integration between Italy's original population and its migrants is still a work in progress, but for Aboussabone the Egyptian Museum's campaign is a step in the right direction.
This is a new and positive initiative that will help people not feel like foreigners, the Moroccan visitor says.
The 2-for-1 ticket offer is being advertised through several channels: The museum has enrolled so-called ambassadors - Arabic-speakers who promote it with members of their community. Meanwhile ads have been posted on the web, at newspaper stalls and on Turin's public transport.
The message is one of inclusion and an invitation for everyone to consider the Egyptian Museum as their own home, Greco says.

Metallica honored Cliff Burton in beautiful way (Orion), Italy Turin February 10th, 2018
METALLICA honored what would have Cliff Burton's 56th birthday by performing the song Orion during the band's February 10 concert in at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, Italy.
The track, which appears on METALLICA's classic 1986 album Master Of Puppers, was co-written by the band's late bassist, whose life was tragically cut short in a tour bus crash on September 27, 1986 12 miles north of Ljungby, Sweden. He was just 24.

There is evidence that the Shroud, venerated in France as early as 1350, is the Shroud we see today preserved in Turin, Italy.
This DVD takes the historical high ground as it presents the places, the written evidence, the changes of ownership, the various expositions and the first 1898 photograph that changed everything -- and brought the Holy Shroud into the realm of modern science and to worldwide attention for the very first time.
This DVD is the most authentic and definitive DVD yet produced on the Holy Shroud. It reports on the first examinations of the fabric and the imprint left on it by the body of a dead man who had been tortured and crucified. It describes the discovery of red blood cells and pollen traces, carbon-14 dating, and computerized image processing. The DVD features a one-hour documentary film, The Man of Pain, which was the Official Documentary of the 1998 Holy Shroud Exposition Committee and was granted the right to use the Vatican's Jubilee 2000 logo. It is the only documentary yet made to present High Definition (HDTV) footage of the private exposition which took place on June 25, 1997 -- and the only documentary to be filmed since the fire that badly damaged Guarini's Chapel.
This film was made with the assistance of experts from the Archdiocese of Turin, and includes footage shot in Jerusalem, the church of St. Catherine of Sinai, Edessa, Istanbul, Lirey, St. Hyppolyte, and Chambery. Scientific consultants to the project included Pierluigi Baima Bollone, Nello Balossino, Giuseppe Ghiberti, Silvano Scannerini, and Giuseppe Terzuolo. The Shroud DVD features 160 minutes of total content, in five language versions -- Italian, English, French, German and Spanish. In addition to the film The Man of Pain, extra features include The 1998 Restoration History, The 2002 Restoration History, Iconographic Routes, Backstage at the Filming, Extra Interviews, An Interactive Map of Shroud History, and the short films, The Guarini Chapel and The Face of Christ.

Metallica - Halo on Fire (Turin, Italy 10. 2. 2018)
Genesis Museum present: Genesis Turin, Italy 3 February 1974 front version
Genesis Museum 8mm masters project present: Genesis - Turin, Italy 3 February 1974 (8:46) - Includes parts of Watcher, Britannia Story, Moonlit Knight, Cinema Show story bit, Cinema Show, Firth story, Firth of Fifth, Musical Box, Epping Forest, Supper Story, Supper's Ready, The Knife
There are several films all from this same concert. This particular film is shot from the front, above the stage and a bit to the right, and was found by Maurizio in 1980 (my memory again) and has had many many transfers. Maurizio put some nice screenshots on his website during the camera flashes from the audience, but otherwise this film was very dark and far away, it was hard to really enjoy it. The craziest copy I've seen was in the early 90s and was B&W and silent...all you could really see was a few minutes of Mike's legs in the distance. It was basically unwatchable. While there is no way to turn this into a professional looking film, I was sure I could squeeze a bit more out of it.
I zoomed in on the film *during* the transfer, so as to not lose much resolution, and kept the camera focused on the stage as much as possible. This created a widescreen transfer with reasonable detail. I also used a very bright transfer, and (like Maurizio) took advantage of the many flash cameras in the audience. Because of the decent audio available from this date, and the many bits of stories captured, I used the matching audio. Thanks must go to the Italians talking around the mic as our funny guides during the stories. The result is very watchable, IMO. We are treated to many between song moments and bits of The Knife.

Visit Italy - The DON'Ts of Visiting Italy
Read the Blog on What Tourists Should Not Do When They Visit Italy:
GRAB A WOLTERS WORLD SHIRT
What You Shouldn't Do When You Are in Italy
Visiting Italy is an amazing experience whether you are seeing the Roman ruins throughout the country in places like Rome or Naples, but for all the amazing things you should do in Italy (visit Venice, Florence, Rome, Ravenna, Amalfi Coast, eat until you explode) there are things you DON'T DO when you come to Italy & Here are our 12 things NOT TO DO in Italy when you are traveling Italy.
Filmed in Vicenza, Italy
Copyright Mark Wolters 2016
The Don'ts of Italy
1. Don't expect to get discount prices on fancy Italian luxury brands.
2. Don't eat near tourist sights. You will be ripped off and not get as good of Italian food as you would away from the tourist sights.
3. Don't Tip. They already charge you for service.
4. You Don't have to scream louder to get people to understand you.
5. Don't worry about overdressing, the Italians will always look better than you.
6. Don't just visit Rome and Venice, there is so much more to Italy.
7. Don't share your pizza and make sure you do eat it with your fork and knife.
8. Don't use the fast trains for short distances, they are not worth the significantly higher prices.
9. Don't expect to see spaghetti and meatballs on the menu TOGETHER. They will be there separately, but not together.
10. Don't expect a big breakfast in Italy. Just coffee and a cookie.
11. Don't overpack. You will be limited on space when traveling in Italy so pack accordingly.
12. Don't expect to be served food in a restaurant between 3pm and 7pm.

Italy Highway A21 - Serious Accident 28/03/2019
Dramatic images on a motorway in Italy. A Romanian driver begs to be saved A Romanian truck driver who was involved in an Italian motorway accident remained captive among the contorted beasts of the car, according to radiogold.it. A professional Romanian driver was crushed in the cabin, came out with his head and a hand through the windshield and was surprised at the moments after the Italian accident how he lamented and prayed: Get me out, get me out! The images are absolutely dramatic and they were filmed shortly after the Romanian-led truck came into the semi-trailer of the truck running in front of it. The accident occurred at 9.30 am on A21, in the direction of Turin, between Alessandria East and West stations. The pictures hear the driver crying and praying to get out of the cabin, while a man, one of the first to the scene of the accident, tries to calm him down. The 53-year-old Romanian driver was safely pulled out of the fire cabin, being transported in serious condition to the hospital. According to radiogold.it, the state of the Romanian is critical one more than 24 hours after the accident.
