Bigfoot's Oregon City Winery Bike Tour
Bigfoot heard about The Bike Concierge's new Oregon City Winery tour, and loving both Oregon wines and cycling, he thought he'd give it a go. The scenery at Villa Catalana Winery was just as amazing as the Pinot Noir!
Portland, Oregon
As fantastic as Portland is to spend time in, it's one of the easiest cities to spend time outside. The mountains, waterfalls, wine country and other assorted outdoor goodies Oregon is so famous for are all a short drive away.
So whether you're looking to spend time in or outside a great city, Portland's it.

Oregon Wine Country: The Continuing Transformation into an International Wine & Culinary Destination
Tuscany, Italy. Stellenbosch, South Africa. Sonoma, California. Hunter Valley, Australia. OREGON
In the beginning, Oregon's wine pioneers focused on learning how to grow winegrapes and make wine. Then they devoted themselves to improving their farming and winemaking practices, incorporating a lot of sustainable techniques, to make world-class wines that earned a loyal following and international recognition. Today, Oregon boasts nearly 500 wineries around the state contributing more than $1.5 billion to our state's economy. What's next for this delicious industry? Our panelists will discuss the next step for the industry: becoming an international wine and culinary destination.

Oregon Coast Highway - Lincoln to Brookings
The Oregon Coast Highway, 363 miles where you can relax, enjoy, & escape amidst natural beauty & wildlife. Thoughts fade away along this Wind swept shoreline, home to soaring sand dunes, pristine beaches, and bustling harbors.
I would rate this part of Route 101, as one of most scenic drives in the US, even above Californias Highway one or Pacific Coast Highway. Unlike other coastlines in the US, the Oregon coastline completely open to the public.
Whether you want to just enjoy the drive, or stop and watch for wales and seals, make footprints in the sand, or catch crabs & Clams, the Oregon Coast has something for you. The Coast is generally divided into the North Coast which runs from The Columbia River to about Lincoln City. The Central which runs from Lincoln City to Reedsport, and the South Coast which runs from Reedsport to the CA border.
It generally takes about 10-12 hours to drive the full course of this highway from the Washington Border to California Border. so We are going to cover the Central & South Coast as but I encourage you to also do the north region, with Astoria & Canon Beach. As you go further to the south you'll find less crowds, and a more rugged coastline, secluded beaches. for more info see or .

Grant's Getaways: Downtown Baker City
Baker City is the largest intact 19th-century street-scape in the American West. There are more than 100 buildings on the National Registry of Historic Places, so this tour is like visiting a museum of Victorian architecture. Explore downtown on a horse-drawn carriage ride.

Off Bay Street Bistro Florence Oregon
A relatively new restaurant in Florence Oregon is creating a lot buzz. It could be the charm of the place or the wood oven where the pizza and calzone are baked. It might be the local beer and wine or the owner who is not stranger to Florence, good service or the industry.
Oregon April 2018
My lovely friend Angie and I got to cruise around beautiful Oregon, USA last April 2018. We stayed at a sweet Air BnB in Wilsonville (thanks Susan). Our adventures include driving along the Columbia River Gorge and stopping at Hood River for the day, wandering through a magical fairyland called Silver Falls State Park, driving through the cozy woods that lead us to breathtaking Cannon Beach, and last but not least visiting our sweetheart Carlena in Portland.
I fell in love with Oregon during this trip. Truly stunning scenery and all around good vibes.
Thanks for taking the time to watch my home movies, cheers!

Touring Portland Oregon || Multnomah Falls || Bonneville Dam || Downtown Portland || Water Front
We are a family of 5 from Texas. We are ditched suburbia life and we are heading to live on a sailboat. Follow along as we learn what we are doing. This will be a great adventure.
Last week we drove over 3 days in our suburban with 2 adults, 3 kids, 2 cats and all our keepsake items to drop off at families homes in Oregon to hold for us.
This week we toured many areas of Portland. Multnomah Falls is one of the best known landmarks here in Oregon. Aside from popular belief it is not the 2nd tallest water fall in the US. It actually rank 154th, and 434th in the world. In 2017 there was a fire that threatened this area. We are grateful we got to see it one more time. We hiked up to the 2nd of 11 switch backs before the boys were pretty nervous about the edge. The water fall was beautiful.
We drove 13 miles east of the falls to visit the first of many dams on the Columbia river, Bonneville Dam. This is part of the Lewis and Clark expedition in 1805. They even created a salmon ladder to allow them to continue their journey upriver to spawn.
This week we also took the local MAX, train to downtown Portland. We toured the water front and pioneer courthouse square area.
Thank you for following along. We will post updates every Friday. Please subscribe to keep up to date.

Interstate 5 Southbound thru Oregon: Turner, Albany, Eugene
This video begins near Turner, Oregon (just south of Salem, near the Enchanted Forest) and heads south on Interstate 5 through Albany and Eugene, until it gets too dark to see anything. You may notice the truck stop at Rice Hill near the end, but it's too dark to see much. But, along the way, it's beautiful!

1964 Pacific, Cannon Beach Oregon
Take your Front Row Seats to the ever unfolding beauty found in this very special Cannon Beach neighborhood overlooking Haystack Rock and the Needles. Imagine experiencing spectacular sunset evenings on either Ocean Front deck or being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the ocean. The living room and master bedroom provide panoramic ocean views the length of the Cannon Beach coastline and beyond with the ambience of 3 gas fireplaces.
Amtrak Coast Starlight, in a Sleeper Car Bedroom
The overnight 14 Coast Starlight (Amtrak) from Los Angeles to Seattle.
--3 states
--1,377 miles
--36 hours
--29 stops (a few afford a chance for some fresh air, for a few minutes)
--incalculable jaw drops at the beauty seen from along the ocean coastline to the snowy mountain ranges and backdoor views of towns and cities.
I can't recommend this enough! What an experience! What a way to see the country! The whole ride was smooth, quiet, and tranquil. Whether you enjoy a book in the glass-domed car while sipping on some coffee, or nurse a beer through the passing majesty outside your window, you are rocked gently into a relaxation that is unlike any other. The staff was ever ready to accommodate needs and/or wants. Guest speakers rode along, regaling passengers with tales of the flora, fauna, and history of the areas. Fellow passengers were in equal states of awe and wonder, evidenced by the acknowledging head tilts complete with twinkling eyes and hearty grins. Childhood fancy was stirred together with an aged appreciation and I found that though we were moving northward, time had stood still.
Note: Yes...I have since learned to refrain from filming in portrait mode, when using a phone. ????
Note: Thank you, all, who have clarified that it's a Lounge Car featured in this video, not an actual Parlour Car. I did not intend to mislead anyone; during our ride, the staff and fellow passengers were calling it the Parlour Car, and I was at fault for following the flock in my understanding. Our train's Parlour Car must have been undergoing maintenance, at the time. I did find, however, the Lounge Car to be quite enjoyable. Nevertheless, I imagine riding with an official Parlour Car would enhance the experience, greatly. Thank you all, for clarifying this, for me and for others.
Note: for mobile device viewers, annotations don't appear on-screen. At the 2:28 mark, it should be noted that There is a traditional door on this bathroom; it's just not visible, here.

KNOWLEDGE OF US - The Best Winter Vacation Destinations in Oregon USA
The Best Winter Vacation Destinations in Oregon (USA)
From lush forests to snowy mountains to temperate Portland, Oregon has much to offer, even in the wet and chilly months of winter. If you love to ski, you’ve come to the right place, but skiing isn’t the only way to enjoy the Beaver State. Cozy up at a mountain lodge, enjoy seafood on the coast or explore Oregon’s top cities. Expect to travel with some coats, rain gear or at least a sturdy determinedness to get a little soggy and you’re all set to go.

The Best Winter Vacation Destinations in Oregon (USA)
1. Bend.
A frigid winter dawn near Pine Mountain east of Bend, Oregon, in the area known as 'The Badlands.'
Bend is one of Oregon’s most solid destinations in both summer and winter. The area in and around Bend is a veritable winter wonderland. Located in a high desert and surrounded by mountains, you’ll find plenty of snow—up to 30 feet per year in the mountains, but less than 30 inches in town. If a ski vacation is what you seek, then Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort is nearby. There’s also ample opportunity to go snowshoeing, rent snowmobiles or even take a dog sled ride!
2. Sunriver Resort.
The lure of Hollywood, international celebrities, and the mild breezes from the Pacific Ocean makes Los Angeles an obvious addition to the list of top U.S. tourist destinations. Visit L.A.'s famous beaches, such as Malibu or Santa Monica, go shopping on Rodeo Drive, try touring Beverly Hills, and walk along the boardwalk in LA's most famous beachfront neighborhood known as Venice Beach.
3. Mt. Hood and Timberline Lodge
If you’re in the mood for a winter vacation, snow and all, Mt. Hood is one of Oregon’s top spots to find it. Book a room at the cozy Timberline Lodge because there’s no finer way to enjoy a snowy vacation than to pair it with a lodge where you can curl up by a fireplace in your room in the evenings. Mt. Hood is home to not one, but five different ski resorts, including Mt. Hood Meadows, Timberline, Skibowl and Cooper Spur Mountain Resort. Beyond the resorts, there are even more snowy trail systems to snowshoe or cross-country ski, as well as tubing hills to sled or tube down a slope. You want snow, you can’t go wrong at Mt. Hood.
4. Portland.
Portland’s weather stays fairly temperate all year round. So, yes, it does get a little rainy in the winter, but so long as you’ve got the right gear, there’s no reason why Portland isn’t a great winter vacation destination. While exploring the city’s amazing parks (Forest Park and Washington Park, we're looking at you) may or may not be as enjoyable depending on the weather, the city’s amazing dining scene is just as amazing whether it’s raining or not.
5. The Oregon Coast
Winter is not the best time of year to visit the Oregon Coast. Whether you’re looking at Astoria or Cannon Beach or Gold Beach, count on likely a rain and wind filled vacation. Skip heading to the coast for walks on the beach unless you really enjoy sideways rain (and that’s not to say there aren’t lovely days on the coast in January and February, but statistically you’re more likely to get wind whipped).
6. Hood River in the Columbia Gorge
In the summer, Hood River is known as the windsurfing capital of the world. With its incredible winds whipping through the Columbia Gorge, windsurfing and kite surfing are big here. And while those activities mostly lose their appeal when the temperatures drop, Hood River still has plenty of chilly appeal. Like Timberline Lodge, Hood River makes a strong base for ski vacations as Mt. Hood Meadows and Cooper Spur are just an hour away. And, yes, you can still go windsurfing if you want to in the winter... nothing stops Northwesterners from enjoying the outdoors. Just be ready to suit up to stay warm!
7. The Willamette Valley
While you might think of visiting Oregon’s wine country as a summer activity, it’s not like wine stops just because the clouds come out. In fact, warming up with a glass of wine might be just what the doctor ordered when the winter blues have you down.
Boutique hotels and bed and breakfasts dot the Willamette Valley and turn your winter vacation into a cozy get away. Look to the Black Walnut Inn if you want to combine beautiful views, top-notch culinary offerings and a vineyard on the property. Rooms come with a complimentary bottle of wine to get you started.
