Conservation of wall paintings at the Palazzo de la Salle chapel
The Department of Conservation and Built Heritage, at the University of Malta, is raising funds to complete the conservation of the stunning Baroque wall paintings of the Chapel of Palazzo De la Salle, Valletta.
After the hard teamwork carried out in 2016-2018, the final phase of the project will return full legibility and aesthetic value to the paintings, after 300 years of obscurity.

Nature has always been the focus of literature, a source of renewal, spiritual, pure. The relation of authors with nature has changed because our landscapes and seascapes have changed, but nature remains a source of inspiration and concern, a concern transfixed by agony. How does the lack of natural environment and open spaces translate to literature? How do we write trees and fields when trees and fields are no longer? How do we write the colour of the changing sea? Our space and light are being stolen by buildings that reach for the sky. How does literature deal with this daylight robbery? How does it document our struggle for space?
The moderator of this event was Immanuel Mifsud. The panel members were Teodor Reljic and Roger West.

Can literature alleviate, explain and deploy the pain of living? To tell of an illness, and to hear it being told, has always served as an effective instrument of reshaping all the fragments which make it up, and which compose and structure our composite relationship with the world. A shattered world, and one that we now find ourselves strenuously trying to reassemble, word by word.
The moderator of this event was Glen Calleja. The panel members were Clare Azzopardi, Laia López Manrique, Massimo Barilla, Juana Adock and Jean-Rémi Gandon.

Maestro Pawlu Grech & PianisT Ramona Zammit Formosa.
Pawlu Grech's album collections are the stuff of dreams. Intimate Garden, Flora of the Imagination, compiled between 1969 and 1985, is lush and alien. These paintings weld the fascination with natural form to the surreal imagination in the creation of new species of plants which are drawn from the somnambulant explorations of the artist's phantasms.
More of Pawlu Grech's paintings can be seen during Departures, Pawlu Grech, a life in perspective when they will hang at the Malta Society of Arts' Palazzo de la Salle in Valletta.
