We visited the Istanbul 1453 Panorama Museum, which houses the panorama painting of the conquest of Constantinople.
Simply amazing.
To get there, take the tram towards Bagcilar, and get down at the Topkapi station, just outside the city walls.

The Panorama 1453 Historical Museum is a historical museum in Istanbul that was opened on 31 January 2009.[1] The museum is located across from the spot on the Topkapı-Edirnekapı ramparts. The museum is a panorama painting about the conquest of Constantinople. Here the visitor will witness a scene of the Fall of Constantinople, in particularly the moment the Ottoman troops broke the Byzantine defences of the city. After the fall, the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet II, gained the title of Fatih (conqueror). The painting surrounding measures 38 meters in diameter and covers an area of 2,350 square meters.

In 1453 fall of Constantinople the capital of Roman (Byzantine) Empire is besieged by the overwhelming Ottoman forces.
was captured of the capital of Byzantine Empire by an invading army of the Ottoman Empire on 29, May 1453.
The Ottoman was commanded by the then 21 years old Ottoman sultan mehmed the conqueror, who defeated an army comanded by Byzantine Emperor Constantine xI Palailogos.
The siege lasted from Friday april 1453 untill Tuesday 29, may 1453 when the city fell and was finally conquered by the Ottoman in CONSTANTINOPLE AND NOW THEY CALLED IT ISTANBUL.

The Panorama 1453 Museum in Istanbul is dedicated to Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the II's conquest of Istanbul that brought to an end the Byzantine Empire and established the city as the capital of the Ottoman Empire. The conquest had such a far-reaching impact on the world, that many consider it the end of the Middle Ages. 565 years on, Zeynep Gokce takes us through some of the incredible paintings at the museum and we speak to Alessandro Scafi to learn more about this event's impact on the international art world. Scafi is a Lecturer in Medieval and Renaissance Cultural history with the Warburg Institute at the University of London.

Istanbul: Panorama 1453 Museum (Conquest of Istanbul)
This may be one of the most overlooked, yet amazing places to visit in Istanbul if you are interested in the history of Istanbul from the conquest from the Byzantine empire to the Ottomans.
Panorama 1453 is a 100% panoramic museum and it allows visitors to read about & view the scenic history of Istanbul/Constantinople both vertically and horizontally. The level of detail in the painting (that leads from the ceiling all the way down to 3D tangible articles on the ground) is something I've never seen anywhere, even the level of detail inside the Sistine Chapel does not take you inside the action as Panorama 1453 does.
Truly amazing and worth a visit!
