Welcome to Rishikesh - My Yoga Journey at World Peace Yoga School
During a period of a month (May 2018) I was attending a yoga teacher training course (200YTT) at the Yoga Capital of the World, named: Rishikesh (India). Thanks to the magical environment: the smell of yoga in combination with Indian food, insense and breezes of the holy Mother Ganga river makes this place a very unique one, which will last an impression for a life time!
During this yoga course at the World Peace Yoga School, my journey towards becoming a yogi started with a bang. Getting up at 5AM six times a week and practicing the whole yoga philosophy (according to the 8 Limbs of Patanjali) during an average temperature of 42 degrees is certainly no joke at all! Lucky for me I was accompanied with 21 other yogi's in the making, so we all pulled each other through the hard and sweaty times! Students came from all over the world: Los Angeles, New York, Russia, India, Nepal, Denmark, France, Holland and many more countries which indicates yoga is accepted as a upcoming lifestyle known all across the globe.
During this video I'm taking you with me to where it all started, from waking up, to the famous Laxman Jhula Bridge (including hundreds of crossing people by foot or bike, cows, monkeys and stray dogs), the yoga asanas classes (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques to regulate your prana/energy) and closing with a Bollywood party. I’ve always felt ASMR relaxation and peace from YOGA, and as I’ve been doing yoga for over 8 years now, I felt it was something special to share with the world. Yoga for me is my center of peace and deep inner relaxation which created the inspiration for this video. As well, I wanted to have a cute twist to it by adding the Wii fit trainer to the video to relate my love of video games to that of yoga. Enjoy my friends ~

This is the second flow sequence from the Yoga Flo for Peace DVD with Jennifer Maagendans from Centre Luna Yoga.
Yoga Flo for Peace is an instructional yoga DVD for the advanced beginner to intermediate practitioner. It offers 3 time sequences to choose from, and two language options (English or French).
A Yoga DVD created to promote peace and ecological awareness. Packaging was made with 100% recycled cardboard, 100% recycled plastic and all vegetable inks. One dollar of each DVD sold is donated to Équiterre(a organization promoting environmentally and socially responsible choices).
Challenging and invigorating, Yoga Flo for Peace stimulates the senses and inspires one to seek peace in each moment. This practice awakens the dormant energy within, while calming the mind and bringing about a strong sense of awareness. A flowing practice led by studio owner and Jivamukti certified yoga teacher Jennifer Maagendans, with original music composed by Montreal's own Jason Kent.
Practising yoga since 1996, Jennifer has a background in gymnastics and a degree in Environmental Studies. As a yoga teacher, her classes challenge both body and mind. Her teaching emphasises inner peace and happiness, as well as a strong connection to the earth. Jennifer currently teaches at her studio Centre Luna Yoga in Old Montreal.
