Piha Pro New Zealand Unveiled for 2020
It’s official! World Surf League today confirms the Piha Pro QS10,000 is real and will take place in March 2020, 2021 and 2022. The Piha Pro will be part of the new WSL Challenger Series, and promises to see some of surfing’s biggest stars coming up against New Zealand’s most promising talent. Kiwi pro surfers Paige Hareb and Ricardo Christie discuss what it means for surfing in New Zealand following the announcement.

Piha Beach is good in a variety of conditions creating plenty of opportunity for advanced surfers to find high performance waves when the crowds are unaware. Even when the beach is closing out it is still possible to whip out and have a fun surf. For beginners and intermediate surfers there are always waves on the inside for learning from mid to high tide. If you are not sure of your ability or the conditions, seek advice from a Piha Surf School instructor.
