Timberline Campground - Pike National Forest
Timberline Campground is located in the Pike National Forest just over a mile east of Kenosha Pass. The 30 Campsites at Timberline Campground are located at an elevation of 9800 ft in 2 loops that make a figure 8. Several sites have adjoining buddy sites, where the fire ring is shared and parking and picnic tables are side by side. Most sites in the first loop are more suitable for group camping, especially sites 11-15.
The Colorado Trail passes nearby and crosses the summit of Kenosha Pass near the 2 campgrounds at the top of the pass.

Environmental Destruction in Duck Creek Colorado 2012.mov
Just a short film highlighting the destruction the Duck Creek basin of Colorado in Park County. The area has seen a sharp spike in visitors and there seams to be no end to collection of trash in the area. Having spent most of my youth in the area and enjoying the area now, it is on the verge of implosion and collapse environmentally. The are is in a hard to reach location for the Pike National Forrest & Park County Law enforcement agencies. With Budget & personal constraints this area often goes under patrolled or not at all with serious consequences to the area. Please help by letting the agencies in charge know that enough is enough & some groups proclaiming to be on the forrest service side are in fact not.
Kenosha East Campground - Pike National Forest
Kenosha East Campground is one of two campgrounds on either side of US 285 at the top of the 10,000 ft Kenosha Pass. Kenosha East Campground has 12 campsites.
Dispersed Camping (Free Camping) is available just past the entrance to Kenosha East.
The Colorado Trail Trailhead is at the entrance to the campground. Segment 5 of the almost 500-mile long Colorado Trail is east of Kenosha Pass and Segment 6 of the trail begins on the west side of the pass. With a large number of aspen trees at the pass, this portion of the Colorado Trail is popular with leaf peepers in search of changing leaves in the fall.
The Twin Cone OHV trail begins near the entrance to Kenosha East Campground.
