Porth Beach
Porth Beach is a magnificent beach located in the perfect spot between Newquay and Watergate Bay. It is a very popular beach due to its extensive golden sand and can stretch up to a mile long when the tide is at its lowest point. The beach is protected by a headland on the left and Porth Island on the right which has a narrow foot bridge over to the Island. The view from Porth Island is most spectacular as you can see the many beaches and dramatic coastline which the North of Cornwall offers.

•Limited car parking on the beach offering the easiest access
•RNLI Lifeguard cover (May 19th - 30th September each year)
•Cafe and toilets available on the road opposite the beach.
Porth Beach has extremely easy access as you park on the beach, however you do have to cross a stream to get onto the beach. Also, parking is very limited, meaning there would be a walk from the nearest parking point.

Porth beach. Stunning! March 2012. Nr Newquay, Cornwall
I took this footage earlier today (1st March 2012) on the beautiful beach at Porth in Cornwall, with Newquay in the distance.
The waves build up in to white horses and the tide comes right up to me at the end. It's very calming.
At 0.55 sea terns fly past and the waves pick up.

September 2018 and Fistral Beach Newquay the afternoon started cloudy but you will see it did improve with blue sky.
No matter what time of year this is always a dramatic place to visit.
Fistral Beach has an extensive RNLI lifeguard presence from April until October, with busy weekends at the start of winter still patrolled.
Porth Beach
Porth Beach is a large sandy beach in Cornwall. While this beach is considered a Newquay Beach, it is not actually in Newquay as Porth is a village in its own right (however the village does merge with Newquay).
The word Porth translates to Cove so Porth Beach literally means 'Cove Beach'.

Newquay, the Surf Capital of Great Britain
Newquay is the surf capital of Great Britain. Generally a youthful vibrant city located in the county of Cornwall. It is situated on the North Atlantic coast of Cornwall approximately 20 miles west of Bodmin and 12 miles north of Truro. The town is bounded to the west by the River Gannel and its associated salt marsh, and to the east by the Porth Valley. Newquay has been expanding inland since it was founded.
Newquay has been a major tourist destination for more than a century, principally on account of its coastline and nine long and accessible sandy beaches, including Fistral. Around 22,000 people live in Newquay, but the population can increase to 100,000 or more in the summer because Newquay has a large stock of holiday accommodation.
The resort is widely regarded as the surf capital of the UK. Newquay is a centre for the surf industry in Britain, with many surf stores, board manufacturers and hire shops in the town. At the centre of Newquay's surfing status is Fistral Beach which has a reputation as one of the best beach breaks in Cornwall. Fistral is capable of producing powerful, hollow waves and holding a good sized swell.
Newquay has lively nightlife. There is a wide selection from chillout bars and traditional pubs, to beachside cafes nightclubs and organised bar crawls. Many venues offer live music featuring local and international acts. Newquay's nightclubs often play host to BBC Radio 1 and other well known DJs. In recent years Newquay has become popular with stag and hen parties and teenagers come to Newquay to celebrate following exam results.
