Is your cruise ship stopping in Rome for the day? It's very easy to get to Rome from the port. Although you could hire a driver to escort you into Rome, it's just as easy to take the train and a lot more affordable! Watch this video for easy directions on how to get to Rome's central station, Roma Termini, from the Civitavecchia Port.

Once you disembark from your cruise ship, you can either walk to the Civitavecchia train station or take a free shuttle bus. The walk is very easy--basically you just walk out of the parking lot, turn right and walk with the sea along your right side for about 10 minutes. You'll then see the station up on your left hand side. Super simple!
There are trains every 30 minutes from Civitavecchia to Rome Termini. You can also get off at Rome San Pietro station which is near the Vatican. (The cost of a round-trip train ticket is 9 Euro/person. This also includes unlimited public transportation use for the entire day in Rome.)
Presto Tours also offers a fully catered Rome Day Tour for cruise passengers. A Presto Guide meets you in Civitavecchia at 8:30 AM, visits Rome's highlights with you and has you back to the ship by 5:30 PM.

Hello world! Long story short, this vlog is from my trip to Italy back in August 2015. I thought I had lost all my footage from this day; come to find out, all my video from this day was in the wrong folder on my laptop.
Anyways, this video is about my visit to the smallest country in the world, the #Vatican City. My family and I were able to see Pope Francis during the Sunday mass at St Peter's Square, St. Peter's Basilica and hung out by the #Pantheon at night to wrap up this fantastic trip to #Italy.
Hope you enjoy the views from the streets of Rome, St. Peters Square, and inside the St Peter's Basilica.

Rome Tour And The Vatican State Tour - An excursion from our cruise ship docked in nearby Civitavecchia. Our Mediterranean Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Serenade of The Seas included a stop in Civitavecchia, about an hour and a half bus ride to Rome. It is a tiring bus ride but a must see experience. And you aren't driving so just relax and take in the traffic and countryside.
