The Streets Of Palermo, SICILY - What Are They Like?
Before coming to Sicily we only knew a few things about the island: Sicilians are SICILIANS - not Italians, this is where ice cream (gelato) was invented, and its the birthplace of the notorious mafia.
Once we arrived in Palermo we were stuck by how beautiful the city was. The architecture is dramatic and detailed, with an eclectic mix of architectural periods.
Due to the island being occupied by various cultures over the centuries, there is a unique atmosphere that differentiates Sicily from mainland Italy.
The closest thing we saw to having any relevance to the mafia were ‘addiopizzo’ stickers in shop front windows. These stickers represent a movement established in Sicily fighting against the mafia and discouraging extortion of shopkeepers.
There is so much to see in this relatively small capital, far too much to include in just one video. We have included our favourite sights in this vlog and have tried to capture the atmosphere of the city.

We said goodbye to our jobs, sold all our belongings, and left Australia on a one-way ticket to Shanghai with just each other and our backpacks! We plan to travel the world for a year, see as much as possible, meet as many people as we can, and most importantly MAKE OUR MONEY LAST!
When we left Australia we decided to make travel vlogs to share our journey with our friends and family back home. We also love watching other travel vloggers on YouTube, in particular Kara and Nate, The Endless Adventure, The Way Away, and Flying The Nest.

Double Play - Docufiction - Moles on Antimafia ITA SUB ENG
A beautiful document that makes us live in direct the two worlds that are opposed to, all too long, the struggle between the mafia and the state, the one worthy to be called that. Unfortunately, it does not fight alone against the occult power of the Mafia, but also against certain unfaithful servants (and there are many!) Who do not hesitate to ask for the same service, appropriating its behaviors, languages, methods. Dedicated to those who still believes in the State and to the investigators and prosecutors who patiently working to make sure that one day we can be finally free from this dark hood that stifles and buries us economically our country, as well as prevent us from living free at last a civilized country. They deserve our respect and gratitude.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The economy of Italy is the 3rd-largest national economy in the eurozone, the 8th-largest by nominal GDP in the world, and the 12th-largest by GDP (PPP). The country, that has a major advanced economy, is a founding member of the European Union, the Eurozone, the OECD, the G7 and the G20. Italy is the eighth largest exporter in the world with $514 billion exported in 2016. Its closest trade ties are with the other countries of the European Union, with whom it conducts about 59% of its total trade. The largest trading partners, in order of market share, are Germany (12.6%), France (11.1%), United States (6.8%), Switzerland (5.7%), United Kingdom (4.7%), and Spain (4.4%).In the post-war period, Italy was transformed from an agricultural based economy which had been severely affected by the consequences of the World Wars, into one of the world's most advanced nations, and a leading country in world trade and exports. According to the Human Development Index, the country enjoys a very high standard of living, and has the world's 8th highest quality of life according to The Economist. Italy owns the world's third-largest gold reserve, and is the third net contributor to the budget of the European Union. Furthermore, the country's private wealth is one of the largest in the world.
Italy is a large manufacturer (overall the second in EU behind Germany) and exporter of a significant variety of products including machinery, vehicles, pharmaceuticals, furniture, food, clothing, and robots. Italy has therefore a significant trade surplus. The country is also well known for its influential and innovative business economic sector, an industrious and competitive agricultural sector (Italy is the world's largest wine producer), and for its creative and high-quality automobile, naval, industrial, appliance and fashion design. Italy is the largest hub for luxury goods in Europe and the third luxury hub globally.Despite these important achievements, the country's economy today suffers from structural and non-structural problems. Annual growth rates have often been below the EU average with Italy being hit particularly hard by the late-2000s recession. Massive government spending from the 1980s onwards has produced a severe rise in public debt. In addition, Italian living standards have a considerable North–South divide: the average GDP per capita in Northern and Central Italy significantly exceeds the EU average, while some regions and provinces in Southern Italy are dramatically below. In recent years, Italy's GDP per capita growth slowly caught-up with the Eurozone average while its employment rate still lags behind; however, economists dispute the official figures because of the large number of informal jobs (estimated between 10% and 20% of the labour force) that lift the inactivity or unemployment rates.
