The Southwest Florida city of Punta Gorda is located on Charlotte Harbor between Fort Myers and Sarasota. In 1996 and again in 2003, Money Magazine named Punta Gorda as one of the top 10 Best Small Cities to Live In, with distinctions from other entities including Top Ten Greatest Places to Sail (Men's Journal), Top 10 Small Metropolitan Areas (Forbes), and overall Best Places to Live (MSN). The city offers a variety of activities, including boating, fishing, and golfing; it is sprinkled with numerous shopping and dining venues, as well as galleries, a botanical garden, and waterfront marinas and parks, including the popular Fisherman's Village.
