Come join us on a little road trip to the River Bend Nature Center in Wichita Falls, Texas. Take a walk through nature with us and experience the sight of one hour old butterflies. Watch the turtles swim and learn a little about black lights & scorpions as well as see a 12 year old Desert King Snake.

Welcome to River Bend Nature Center. This is a very nice place to visit with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The cost to tour the facility is $5 for adults but well worth it. You can learn more about RBNC at Plan to spend at least two hours when visiting so you will have time to see all that is offered.

Nature is the star at River Bend Nature Center in Wichita Falls, TX. You can explore more than 17 acres of bottom land forest and wetlands, come face to face with native species and learn more about conservation and the natural world.

River Bend has been connecting the public to the natural environment of North Texas for more than 20 years. Last year, more than 40,000 children and adults were educated, enlightened and entertained by our exhibits, programs, and activities. Of the visitors to RBNC, 45% were from outside of Wichita Falls including all 50 states and 42 countries. River Bend is truly a treasure for our community and schools.
Proceeds from River Bend’s programs and events fund only a third of our operating needs. The remaining operating needs are met through charitable and educational grants and through contributions from our supporters – like you! Thank you for your support!

Things To Do Outside For Physically Limited Individuals in Wichita Falls TX
Find yourself looking for something to do outside that does not require you to be athletic? Take the express route down a stairwell and now can't get around very easily? That is the position I have found myself in recently. So it got me to thinking what can I do in Wichita Falls that is outside in nature?. So I got out recently just to see. Now what I have in this video probably is not all there is to do, but it was a start. If you know of something, be sure to leave it in the comments below.

Pedaling Along – Wichita Falls, TX
Take a ride along with us as we explore a new section of the Wichita Falls Circle Trail. Starting in the 4000 block of Seymour Hwy, just east of the Eskimo Hut beside the entrance to the Tangle Wood edition. This is a semi-hilly concrete path along the bluffs overlooking the Wichita River. Wildlife as well as several varieties of plants and trees can be found along your way. There are plenty of benches to rest and take in the scenery as well as large covered pavilions that can be rented for your events. Contact the City of Wichita Falls Parks department for more information 940-761-7491.

Budget Trip To River Bend: Eating Flowers, Petting Prairie Dogs and Hiking the Switchback
When adventuring on a budget that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the unique things around you! Instead you might just realize what amazing affordable options you have in your own back yard.
I took this adventure to River Bend Nature Center in Wichita Falls, TX and spent about 2 hours enjoying the nature center, the animal residents and the hiking options available for only a $5 budget.
I even tried to eat some of the native plants, with assistance and guidance of course! Don't limit yourself by thinking an adventure has to be costly, instead just look nearby and you might be surprised what you find!

Kemp Center of the Arts is located at 1300 Lamar in Wichita Falls, TX. The building it's self was built in 1917 by Joseph Kemp and was designed to be a library.
