Nolichucky River, Erwin, TN, USA Raft
My raft trip down the lower Nolichucky with USA Raft through the lens of my Sony Handycam. (Audio isn't as good on a handycam and I can't see what I'm videoing.) I would like to have a dollar for everytime I said, “ Oh My Goodness, Oh My Gosh, Oh My, Oh No, etc.” This was the highlight of my week and the rain stopped just in time for our #threehourtour. So, just sit right back and take a look if you think you might want to try this. It was fun! A 3rd grade student sat in front. We encountered class 1,2,3 rapids. The Nolichucky Gorge is much more extreme. I'm doing it next, then the French Broad in NC. I learned several things. The instructor was so helpful and kind. I had an awesome trip. Have a Great Mother’s Day, I sure do miss mine! #usaraft #3hourtour #sony #sonyhandycam

Great Trips with Great people - SPELLMANBM
Trip advisor screen shot: I've taken part in multiple rafting trips with Wahoo's Adventures and have
never been disappointed. This company has a small town feel with big time fun! My family
went with Wahoo's in 2010 while vacationing in Blowin Rock, NC. We decided to go with Watauga River
package; complete with a post-rafting-trip lunch served on the banks of... - SPELLMANBM
Beautiful - Ella S.
Trip advisor screen shot: We kayaked down a river just out of Boone that's supposedly one of the
oldest rivers in america. It was beautiful to experience the serenity of plant and animal life of what seems
pristine nature. This was amazing to get a taste of the area before the town was occupied by people. Our
guide Jeffrey was so helful and friendly... - Ella S.
Best rafting outfit in the high country - Darrell W.
Trip advisor screen shot: I have utilized Wahoo every Fall for the past three years and will
continue to do so as long as I organize our annual cohesion event. Professionally run and great mountain
experience!! - Darrell W.
Great Time - Diveprovo
Cold Day but great adventure - Dculbertson
Trip advisor screen shot: My family and I just rafted the Nolichucky on a cold and windy April day.
Patrick, our guide, helped us prepare with wet suites and water shirts and we stayed relatively
warm for the 8.5 mild river run. What could have been a miserable day turned into a great family fun beacause
Patrick's attention to our needs. He was awesome! - Dculbertson
What a fabulous Day - Billnobody
Trip advisor screen shot: What a fabulous day! We had an amazing trip down the Nollichucky with
guide Patrick on a beautiful day. Everything was so perfectly planned and executed! The lunch was
both comprehensive and thoughtfully done. The instructions were clear. Patrick can make that raft both
tango and two step accross the water. We were in very skilled hands. - Billnobody
Great Fun - Veronicaftms
Trip advisor screen shot: We had a ton of fun kayaking the New River. Our guide, Jeffrey, was
very informative and helful. The reason for the 4 star rating was bcuz the directions flyer is WRONG,
We got lost high in the mountains with no 4g or cell service. Its obvious they need to correct it. I think
it shows a lack of regard... - Veronicaftms
A Google user: I am so pleased that I did not let previously posted reviews
dissuade me from planning my trip on Wilson Creek in the funyaks! There are many specifics
to a situation and for me I wanted to give them the benefit of the odubt. I have kayaked but...
A Google user: I'm not sure what the complaints are about. They do have a
ridiculous cancelation policy, but everyone was extremely polite nad professional. We
took kayaks on the New River and had a great time. Since this is not a dam-controlled river
I don't...
A Google user: They are utterly disorganized. It is overpriced. And the worst part it -
they know this and couldn't care less. We went with a group of 17 and they booked
us no problem at their office on HWY 321, then it was about a 45 minute drive to
where the...

Tubing at the Nolichucky Campground
Laze away the summer days with camping & tubing down the Nolichucky River in the Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee - a great family vacation destination, or a simple day trip! The campground has everything you need from hiking, boating, tubing, swimming and floating the river during the daytime to bonfires at night. Cozy cabins provide a relaxing stay and you can tent camp or use the RV hookups, too.
Raft Surfing the Nolichucky River
I had heard that folks from all over the country visit the small Tennessee mountain town of Erwin to take on the whitewater rapids of the infamous Nolichucky River. And, when I stepped on a bus full of folks that had traveled for a few days just to feel that cool mountain breeze against the natural flowing waters of what the Cherokee Indians daunted as “rushing and dangerous,” I knew I was in for a day of spiked adrenaline. This is a segment of river surfing with USA Raft.
Three Crazy South Africans Raft/Tube Down The Raging Rapids Of The Flooded Kaap River March 2014
Here you see 3 crazy South Africans setting off to tube down the raging rapids of the flooded Kaap River in Mpumalanga, South Africa after the March 2014 floods.
What seemed like an exciting adventure turned a bit hectic after they were out of sight. Due to the floods, they were faced with allot of debris along the way with a few close calls. They also had encounters with a cobra, hippos and a river otter that looked allot like a crocodile when they first saw it coming towards them.
No alcohol or drugs were involved with this crazy idea. Just some adrenaline seeking guys looking for a crazy adventure.
All three guys decided that it was the stupidest thing they had ever done and they were lucky to be alive, but what a story to pass on to their grandkids one day. :-)
If you are our FB friends, tune in there for more photos of their adventures from the worried wives' point of view. :-P
Thanks for watching.
Lower Nolichucky River
Only 5.5 miles but almost continuous rapids for first 2 miles, capped off by Radio Wave (III)... Oh sh!!!.
Go past the sawmill on Jonesborough Rd by about 100 feet to official take-out. We exited at the sawmill instead. Owner was not happy, and piled hay big round hay bails on the trail. Glad he had a sense of humor. No problem, but respectful of the owner.

Barton Springs Pool: A steady 68 degrees? Not so
Barton Springs Pool is always a reliable source for a cooling dip on a hot summer day, but is it really a steady 68 degrees year-round? It has been a long-held belief that the spring-fed pool is 68 degrees, no matter the weather, but on Wednesday the average temperature across three points in the pool tested by City of Austin Hydrologist David Johns and intern Walker Stone was 72.4 degrees. 131 Water Tank Road, Butler, TN 37640
Have you ever wished you had someplace to get away from it all. Someplace that you can just forget about the cares of everyday grind and enjoy peace and quiet. Well we have just the place for you, a little slice of heaven situated next door to the Cherokee national forest and one of the most pristine lakes in the nation, Watauga lake. Imagine escaping for the weekend with your family to some of the best fishing, hunting, and water skiing around, all from your very own log cabin. This 1500 sf 3 bedroom cabin is nestled under a canopy of mature trees so there is always a shady spot on the deck to take in the wild life or just read that book you have been meaning to read. The kids can explore the woods where a civil war fort once stood, or meet dad at the deeded lake access for a cruise on the lake. No boat then you can rent a water toy from one of the local marinas. The grown ups can have a great meal while watching sail boats on the lake at the Captains table. There is always something to see or do here.

Things to do in Arizona --- Salt River Tubing
A top summer activity in Arizona is tubing the Salt River in the Tonto National Forest!
Make sure to grab a recreation pass to park in this area (we didn't know this!) You can buy them at all Circle K's in the area and some other select convenience stores.
Two ways to tube
1. Salt River Tubing Company - ($17)
2. Buy your own tubes and go with some friends -- take two cars and park 1 at stop 4 and one car wherever you choose to start (stop 1 or 2)
So refreshing and chill!
