Taiwan 1000km cycle tour
A video showing highlights from me and my friends cycle tour around Taiwan from the 23rd December - 31st December 2016. Neither of us were experienced cyclists and had never done any long distance cycling. Taiwan is a beautiful country and a great place for cycling.

Info for anyone else considering a similar trip:
Bikes - Giant touring bikes rented from Giant Bicycles and came with paneers spare inner tubes etc. Cost NT1500 for the first three days, and NT200 for each additional day. Bike shop address- No. 432, Minsheng West Road, Datong District, Taipei City, Taiwan
Navigation - Excellent 3G across the whole of island. Used sims on emome network costing around NT700 with unlimited internet.
Accomodation - booked on the day easiest and cheapest with online booking apps such as booking.com, many hotels often having deals.
Route - We cycled around the island following the coast. Roughly following the route in this cycle guide(takes a while to load) Roads mainly flat and very good condition often with cycle lanes averaged about 100kms a day. North west part of the route {the guide advises to get train for this part) is more mountainous with much narrower roads making it considerably more dangerous but it does have some of the best scenery of the tour. Tea trading history had been developed from Dadaocheng. After Taiwan was opened up to Western, Dadaocheng was where the European settlers lived. I was standing at the riverside of Dadaocheng and took some pictures.
