In the heart of the world capital of cinema, Cannes, French Riviera Luxury.
Cannes, one of the Riviera’s most popular regions...a long shoreline outlined with the popular The Promenade de la Croisette. The Carlton, ideally located on the legendary Croisette, is a mythical palace hotel overlooking the Mediterranean, where the rich and famous have been coming since 1912. Its Art Nouveau style, its U shape, its two-tone facades in false stone and its domes dominating the Croisette give the building a very definite sense of architectural nobility. Opened by the future Alexander I of Yugoslavia, it was the holiday destination of European aristocracy. This area contains high-end hotels, restaurants, cafes and boutique shopping, which is crowded during peak season-now through the end of August. Enjoy!

Cannes Travel Guide: Vacation in Cannes and Your Next Holiday Destination
Cannes is one of the most popular cities on the French Riviera, and carries a reputation of glitz and glamour. Cannes is most known for hosting the annual Cannes Film festival as well as the Cannes Lions Festival. Every year, the city attracts many of the world's celebrities, who have the city as their favorite summer hideout place.
Cannes offers a number of luxury hotels and restaurants, and has become a popular summer resort
Unlike most other cities on the French Riviera, there's always something going on in Cannes. The city is full of life all year around, but it is especially in the months of July and August when the streets get crowded, and people come from all over the world to experience the wonderful atmosphere of Cannes, and discover the reason why so many have Cannes as their favorite city on the Riviera.
During the summer, luxury cars crowd the streets of Cannes, especially along the seaside street, the Boulevard de la Croisette.
The Promenade de la Croisette is the waterfront avenue in Cannes, lined with palm trees. The Croisette us unarguably the most iconic landmark of Cannes, most known for its beautiful seaside promenade, its restaurants, cafés, popular beaches, and maybe most importantly, luxury shops from most designer brands you can think of.
Today, it may seem unlikely that Cannes was originally just a small fishing village, but it was in the early-mid 19th century that Cannes began developing into what it is today, as the British aristocracy started spending time here due to the pleasant climate.
Le Suquet
If you want to experience a more authentic side of Cannes, you can visit the old district of Cannes by the name of Le Suquet. The old town of Cannes is a part of the city which shows a different personality of what you may associate Cannes with. The old town of Cannes is the original fisherman’s’ residential area of Cannes. The houses belonging to the fishermen, the majority of which are still standing today in the narrow streets are more than hundred years old. In 1088, the Château de la Castre is the main attraction that draws tourists to the old town today. The area around the Château de la Castre is the oldest part of the old town in Cannes, and on the hill, you'll also find the watchtower which you can see from the harbor and even from the festival place.
Taking the petit train to the top of Le Suquet hill is a popular activity among tourists, and once on the top, you can admire the stunning views over Cannes. The petit train departs from the Croisette, close by the Place De Festival.
If you don't mind walking, you'll be able to see the beautiful narrow streets and the picturesque houses on the way up.
Shopping
Cannes is unarguably the go-to city for shopping on the French Riviera, with countless stores for every taste - from luxurious designer brands to traditional French shops.
On the Boulevard de la Croisette, you'll find the most luxurious stores, but the main shopping street is Rue d'Antibes. Here, you'll find more affordable stores which carries everything you may need. Rue d’Antibes runs parallel to La Croisette, and this shopping street is simply a must-visit when you are in Cannes.
Cannes Croisette beach
Cannes is one of the most popular beach towns on the French Riviera, mainly due to the fact that Cannes has sandy beaches, unlike most others which have pebbles. During the high season, the beach is packed. Depending on your budget, you can choose between free public beaches, or private beaches where you have to rent a sunbed. The mainland coastline of Cannes is 7.5 kilometers, and is lined with plenty of incredible restaurants, cafés, and most importantly, sandy beaches.
FORVILLE MARKET
The most iconic shopping in Cannes takes place in the Forville market. If you're looking to experience a traditional French market with locally produced provencal products, this is the place to go.
The market was pedestrianized in 2012 and is situated close to the Croisette and by the foot of Le Suquet. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 7am–1pm, and is closed on Mondays. The Forville market truly is the best way to experience a more local and authentic side of Cannes, and in addition to that, it is the best place to find fresh vegetables and fruit.
Cannes is a city which offers something for everyone. From Michelin-starred restaurants to a day on the beach, to run along the beautiful coastline, or perhaps enjoying a cocktail on one of the rooftops along the Boulevard de la Croisette.
When will you visit to experience everything that Cannes has to offer?

Travel to The French Riviera (Nice and Monaco) with Monica Walton | Jetsetter.com
With its Michelin-starred restaurants, yacht-filled marinas, and idyllic beaches, the French Riviera is the definition of glamorous. Here's how JS tastemaker Monica Walton spent a weekend in Nice and Monaco. Don’t forget to subscribe!
Nice, France
Nice, on the southern coast of France, is the perfect introduction to the French Riviera. It’s both easy to get to and even easier to explore once you arrive. Tourists never tire of its year-round sunshine and glorious water views, and you could spend all morning and afternoon hitting the charming restaurants and shops lining the Promenade des Anglais.
DO
The beaches that border Nice are some of the most iconic seafronts not just along the Côte d'Azur but in all of France. One of the best spots to take in the views and the sun is the pebble-strewn Plage Publique de l'Opera. Located near the Opera House and Castle Hill, it features both a wide stretch that's open to the public and a private beach-restaurant that keeps the crowds at bay.
SHOP
Set aside an afternoon (or more) to explore the colorful Cours Saleya flower market, in the heart of town near the Old Port. Here, stalls brim with fresh blooms, fruits and vegetables, and spices. On Mondays, the area transforms into a flea market peddling arts and crafts and antiques. No matter what day you visit, Cours Saleya is a perfect spot for picking up souvenirs and getting an authentic taste of local life.

Saint-Tropez, France: A Travel Guide to Saint-Tropez and Your Next Vacation Destination
Are you planning on visiting Saint-Tropez?
In this video, we'll take you on a guided tour through Saint-Tropez and everything it has to offer. This travel guide will introduce you to the beauty of Saint-Tropez, while also teaching you more about its history and what makes it so special.
Video script:
Saint-Tropez is a town in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, situated in the south of France, in what is also known as the french riviera. Saint-Tropez is located west of Nice and Cannes.
It was originally a small and calm fishing town, but at the end of the second world war, Saint-Tropez developed into a lively town and an international seaside resort. It is known for being popular among the jet-setters, the rich and famous, and it was after the war that Saint-Tropez gained its reputation of glitz and glamour as a result of the French New Wave in cinema. Today, Saint-Tropez is despite being a small town, a world-famous resort for the European and American jet set tourists, and now also other international visitors.
The harbor has a capacity of 734 moorings divided between two basins on an area of nine hectares. Its innovation, top quality service, and high standard have made the port into one of the most famous marinas in the world.
Today, Saint-Tropez still keep the character of a traditional fishing village, but now, its harbor is filled with large private yachts instead of small fishing boats and the shores of the harbor are now lined with exclusive bars and restaurants instead of small shops. The houses have remained small and colorful in a picturesque style as the medieval town center at the harbor offers pastel-colored where fishermen once lived.
Located next to the Mediterranean, Saint-Tropez is an obvious stop for the yacht owners enjoying their summers along the beautiful French Riviera. It is now one of the most famous and trendiest resorts on the Riviera which offers its visitors luxury boutiques, a baroque church, restaurants, and some of the best beach clubs on the Riviera.
Saint-Tropez is situated on a peninsula known as the Saint-Tropez peninsula, and the town is facing the azure blue St Tropez Bay.
In the summer, tourists flock to Saint-Tropez to experience a seaside vacation of glamour, and the number of inhabitants is doubled many times over. In the winter, however, the crowds disappear, and the resort goes into hibernation.
Being a town which welcomes the rich and famous, the streets of Saint-Tropez are lined with endless of luxury shops of most famous designer brands, most of which can be found on the main shopping street in Saint Tropez Rue Francois Sibill.
In the center of the city, you'll find the great baroque church of Eglise de St Tropez from the 19th century, which has become an iconic landmark for the city.
The name Saint-Tropez comes from the semi-legendary martyr Saint Torpes. According to the legend, his body was placed in a rotten boat along with a rooster and a dog. Eventually, the body landed at what is today known as Saint-Tropez, thus giving the town its name.
Saint-Tropez welcomes the majority of its visitors in July and August, but some people choose to visit outside of these months as it allows you to feel a sense of authenticity and enjoy the calm atmosphere of Saint Tropez.
In the morning, there's a market on the quay where you can buy fresh vegetables, fruits, and flowers. furthermore, the fishermen also sell their fish on the market so you can eat fresh fish every day.
With picturesque houses, the azure blue Mediterranean, and its gorgeous pine trees, Saint-Tropez is a town well-worth visiting all year around.

Nice, France, along the Côte d'Azur - the complete movie
Please subscribe:
We are taking you to Nice along the beautiful shores of the French Riviera. We will walk the little lanes and look at some shops, we will show you the beach, the open market Cours Saleya and bring you on a walking tour through the old town. We will be spending three days in Nice, because there is so much to see in the city and also in the nearby towns along the Côte d'Azur. This is a longer version of three previously uploaded movies.
The south coast of France along the sunny Mediterranean Sea is one of the world’s most beautiful destinations dotted with colorful seaside towns and inland villages. You'll find that Nice makes the perfect home base from which you can easily reach those other destinations like Cannes and Monaco. Nice has got the biggest collection of hotels, it's got a wonderful old town, a very attractive new town, great transportation with the tram and the major train station and just a beautiful place to be.
One of the great street markets of France is located here in the wide Cours Saleya. This plaza features fresh produce and flowers throughout the day and many the stalls are open right into the early evening, except on Mondays when it becomes an antique market and some other used goods peddled by colorful vendors.
Just inland from the Cours Saleya you'll find the Old Town of Nice. For many visitors it will be the highlight of the city, wandering through these narrow pedestrian lanes lined with historic buildings and shops, lots of restaurants, bars, town squares with fountains and statues, a church here and there. It's just a great spot to explore and hang out. The old town consists of narrow labyrinths, not really streets, more of a maze with blocks of shops of every kind along these narrow twisting lanes.
The old town of Nice is something very special - not so much because of historic monuments or great churches or important single buildings that are inside the old town, but just the total atmosphere, the environment, the simple walking lanes, the shops and the people. There are actual locals living here, there are kids out playing, the residents are upstairs looking down from their windows and you really get a feeling of community here, of authenticity, especially in the off-season when it's not too crowded with tourists walking through the lanes - that helps quite a bit.
You'll find souvenir shops with the typical Provençal items especially the colorful fabrics and the pottery. There's also lots of food in the stores, go for the cookies maybe. We’re just rolling along together, this is part of our visit to the south of France a small group of us traveling together and sharing in the sites.
We especially enjoyed the local cuisine of this casual restaurant. They specialize in crepes and socca and salads and that's really all you need for a very nice lunch. Creperie Breton.
We're also going to have a look at the very attractive downtown of Nice. We'll take you down the main shopping street, show you some of the side lanes and do a little winetasting.
You'll obviously take time to explore Nice’ s main commercial Street, Avenue Jean Medicin, stretching about 10 blocks from Place Massena north to the train station and packed with many boutiques and anchored at the lower end by the large department store, Galleries Lafayette.
This is the kind of really local and authentic neighborhood that's often overlooked by typical guidebooks and video tours, but this is really part of the heart and soul of Nice. This is where locals hang out, where they go shopping, where they get a bite to eat, go to the café, have a beer, which makes it a good place for shopping and for people-watching.
It's so amazing how these pedestrian streets have transformed the cities of Europe. Just a decade ago these kinds of streets would've been filled with cars and trucks in pollution and noise, and the movement swept through the continent to convert these little streets in the heart of the town into pedestrian malls.
Then we're taking you to an evening viewpoint to watch the sunset along the shore, and then up to the top of Castle Hill for a spectacular view looking down over the town.
To get this view you walk along the east end of the waterfront promenade on the Quais des Etats Unit, and to the end you'll have this rocky outcrop with a terrace, with a commanding view looking back along the pebbly beach of Nice.

Fantastic low key morning in Cannes. A stroll on the Croisette.
Cannes in the morning... The air is fresh, the light bright and clear. It’s just the perfect time to have a running session or just walk. The splendid Croisette promenade curving around the bay is the stage for the spectacle. The luxurious hotels are on the other side of the road, the belle époque Carlton Hotel, the modern Palais Stéphanie (now known as the JW Marriott), and the art deco Hotel Martinez. You’ll see beautiful young couples, tanned elderly couples, joggers, all providing a performance for the people-watchers seating on the side.

Lyon, a day trip from Paris. Lifestyle, food, family, and the art of Joie de Vivre.
Paris-Lyon as a same day side trip is a great idea! Lyon is the capital of the Rhone-Alpes region and the third largest city in France. Lyon is a diverse place which offers a lot: great food, historical heritage, modern architecture and exceptional events. After crossing the pedestrian bridge from Quai Saint-Antoine to the Palais de Justice you will see this amazing statue. Somewhat ordinary, at first glance...a man standing carries another, inanimate in his arms. Closer inspection reveals that both individuals are identical! There is an opportunity for much introspection 0:33...Whether by funicular 3:47 or by tram, on foot or in a car, a visit up to La Notre-Dame de Fourvière, Our Lady of Fourvière, is an absolute must when visiting the wonderful city of Lyon, 3:47. The famous church was designed by Pierre Bossan in the mid-late 1800s, in a Romanesque and Byzantine architectural style which was quite unique for the time. Well worth seeing. There is also a amazing view of the city from the church, 4:57. Now, a little bit about Lyon lifestyle...what I love most about Lyon is the original and authentic French feel and the food. Lyon is known as the gastronomic capital of France. You can't visit Lyon without popping by an authentic bouchon lyonnais. Bouchons 2:34 are traditional eateries in a family atmosphere, often run by a family. This is the absolute must-do. Bouchons as located in the old part of the town, in Vieux Lyon on the bank of the La Saone River. A great place to wander, soak up the atmosphere and relax. A little history about the bouchons...Lyon first made its mark on the French culinary scene in the 19th century, when the city was the center of the booming silk industry. Hungry silk workers clustered in tiny bistros, called “bouchons” to consume the robust, cheap meal, but good meal necessary to carry them through their 18 hour work days. Then, bouchons were bare-bones, family-run establishments, lacking in style and décor but infused with a welcoming, home-style atmosphere. Lyon is known for its dishes of sausage 1:31. My personal favorite is the “gratin dauphinois”, 1:21 sliced potatoes cooked in the oven with cream and grated cheese. Enjoy!
