Cheers Enjoy Your Beer
Great Frontier Brewery Lakewood, Colorado
Meet the father and son behind the brews of Great Frontier in Lakewood, Colorado, the city's third brewery.
Colorado Experience: Cheers to Beers
The history of Colorado may best be seen through the bottom of a beer mug. From quenching the thirst of Gold Rush miners in the 1800s to modern craft brews pouring $3 billion into Colorado’s economy, beer has either borne witness to or helped create some of the most interesting chapters in the state’s history. From stowaway Adolph Coors to craft brew revolutionist Charlie Papazian, meet the pioneers of this now booming industry. Cheers!
American Craft: What Beer Can Teach Us About Well-Crafted Laws
There’s never been a better time to be a beer drinker, with thousands of breweries across the country offering a virtually endless variety of beer. But it wasn’t always this way. After Prohibition ended, lawmakers didn’t legalize homebrewing—whether by design or by accident is unclear. While this didn’t dissuade underground homebrewers, it did prevent the commercialization and spread of craft beer. By the 1970s, fed up with the lack of variety in beer, consumers began to demand more freedom… and President Jimmy Carter delivered. (Yes, Jimmy Carter.) This documentary short by FedSoc Films explores the story behind the craft beer renaissance and the importance of well-crafted legislation.
Six experts and beer drinkers discuss the story of American Craft: Trevor Burrus (Cato Institute), Garrett Peck (historian and author), Daniel Vilarrubi (Atlas Brew Works), Justin Cox (Atlas Brew Works), Candace Moon (Dinsmore & Shohl), and Anastasia Boden (Pacific Legal Foundation).

The Untold Truth Of Twin Peaks Restaurants
If you've visited a Hooters at any point in your life, you're probably already pretty familiar with the overall Twin Peaks concept. But behind those cheerful smiles and skimpy uniforms lies something of a dark side. Let's take a look at the untold truth of Twin Peaks.
Twin Peaks customers have plenty to look at as they drag another tortilla chip through that crock of queso, and of course, the barely-there uniforms of the servers and hostesses are a big part of the attraction at each restaurant. If the concept doesn't seem wholly original, there's a good reason: Twin Peaks co-founder and then-CEO Randy DeWitt wasn't shy about citing his inspiration for the restaurant, talking about it in a 2014 profile by Bloomberg.
According to the magazine,
What was salacious three decades ago has now become family-friendly; it's not unusual to see children at Hooters, doodling in coloring books. And compared with the clothes at some popular teen retailers, Hooters' white tank tops and orange shorts seem almost demure. Last year, sales at the chain were virtually flat.
In 2005, DeWitt decided to experiment with a new concept that might recapture some of the original buzz of Hooters, creating what he deemed a more upscale version of the bird-themed breastaurant pioneer. DeWitt wanted to offer better food, a full bar, and a trendier, rustic mountain lodge theme, while encouraging waitresses to show more of themselves. He explained, quote, Hooters just wasn't racy enough.

Highway 66 in America's first transcontinental road heading to the Grand Canyon, across the desolate Arizona. Of course, old look is not the same. Williams, 66 villages through roads is a very big pride seems to Highway 66 to the gateway to the Grand Canyon. I had to go by train from Williams Station. 10:00 a.m. once, sightseeing trains that run daily flooded the yen heunggyeoum with families coming from all over the world to find. All while listening to the wonderful songs of Cowboy Uncle ppaetgin mind the scenery outside the car window. Is Grand Canyon is like? It arrived two hours hanging only about 10 minutes walk from the Grand Canyon a huge spectacle unfolds in front of the station. Sotguchin highest peaks in each one standing below the surface are packed with a wide valley de a special look. The depth of the bottom stream flows whopping 1600m in far-off bottom. The Colorado River. The average width of the valley 17km, 30km best is also danda over a wide area. Kyeokyeoyi by eons of geological time are piling up the river is a violent rainstorm and found a huge, majestic daehyeopgok brew. One sees soaring throw the boulder on the valley below. This suits perfectly the name of the Grand Canyon. I'm a little dizzy watching carefully because of a fear of heights. But really beautiful.

As craft beer market grows, so do wild flavors
(29 May 2019) LEADIN:
Anyone for steak and onion Kolsch? Or a macaroni and cheese pale ale?
Brewers have always experimented, but in the US craft beers are now being offered in a variety of weird flavours such as bacon and egg, double toasted marshmellow and strawberry French toast.
STORYLINE:
The craft beer competition is getting crazy.
Over 7,000 US brewers are battling for their share of the nearly $30 billion USD craft beer industry.
Last year the U.S. had 7,346 craft brewers, up 93% from 2014, according to the Brewers Association, an industry trade group. Craft beer sales rose 7% to $27.6 billion last year, about one-fourth of the total U.S. beer market.
And brewers are constantly coming up with new recipes with unique ingredients to stand out from the crowd.
I think it's exciting, says Beth Wathen, the co-owner of San Francisco's City Beer Store.
I think anytime that you add creative elements to a much-loved beverage like beer, it's fun.
From breakfast beers to dessert beers, many new brews are innovative, others are odd and some sound kind of gross.
Wynkoop Brewing Company in Denver uses grilled buffalo testicles in its Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout.
It's pretty popular, we get a lot of travelers from all over that have heard about it and would like to try it, says head brewer, John Sims.
Some of the weirdest beers around were available for tasting at the annual Strange Brew festival in Reno, Nevada.
Beer aficionados are always looking for the next thing, the next new thing, says the festival's host, Zach Cage.
I think that's where your sours and your really hoppy triple IPAs and your really eclectic craft brews come from.
Some of the more eclectic beers here included a mac and cheese ale.
It's delicious. It literally smells like my childhood, says taster Danielle Paradise.
A steak and onion kolsch.
You can definitely taste the onion. You get a little of that Worcestershire sauce in the back, says taster Andrew Martin.
And a brew made with sushi.
It's shockingly good, actually. It's got a hint of ginger, wasabi and little bit of lemongrass, says taster Leah Whittler.
One brewer, who made a chipotle pepper beer for the festival, says experimentation is important. But the bottom line for longevity is... it has to taste good.
It's got to make you want another one, says Hal McConnellogue from Drake's Brewing Company in San Leandro, California.
If it doesn't, then it's just gimmicky and you're going to be out of the spotlight pretty fast with that.
In this competitive beer landscape, consumers can decide what stays and what goes by putting their money where their mouth is... literally in the case of this beer. It's made with real bits of dollar bills.
