Rome is the capital of Italy, and its largest city. The mixture of the modern city and the plethora of monuments, piazzas, villas, museums, churches, Egyptian obelisks, along with the Colosseum, the Forum and Vatican City results in an epic, glorious ambience that will have you hooked and anticipating your next visit.
The early history of Rome is legendary. According to tradition, the city was founded by Romulus, the twin of Remus. The twins decided to build a city, but in an argument Romulus killed Remus and established the city and named it after himself.
Rome is synonymous with history. Where else can you walk in the same footsteps as the Caesars, St Peter, the Popes, Michelangelo, Dante, Raphael to name but a few? Rome also served as the capital city of the Roman Kingdom, the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire.
The Eternal City of Rome is the largest open-air museum in all of Europe with dozens of must-see, photogenic sites. Major attractions in the City Center are shown on the metro map above.
Pantheon, RomeThe real charm of Rome is that you can easily walk to most sites. For example, after a mid-morning tour of the impressive Pantheon, one could stroll through Piazza Navona, enjoy a gelato in Campo De Fiori, then walk across the historic Ponte Sisto Bridge into Trastevere - Rome's oldest neighborhood - for an enjoyable lunch. Total miles walked? Less than three!
From Trastevere, it's only a 20-minute walk along the Tiber to the Vatican. After a tour of Saint Peter's Basilica, another short walk to Castel St. Angelo, where the best views of Rome are found atop that impressive castle.
As you can see, Rome is a walkable city, and by walking you get a real feel for the ambiance of Rome and the Italian way of life. Good, free walking maps are available all over the city, so hit the cobblestones.
Italy was certainly influenced by many powerful cultures and political forces over time, including the Byzantines, Etruscans and Greeks, but it was the world-changing impact of both the Roman civilization and the Italian Renaissance that contributed most-significantly to its status in the modern world.

Climaveneta for Roma Convention Center La Nuvola
The Rome Convention Center 'La Nuvola' designed by Architect Fuksas, was developed in three distinct bodies:a hotel of 439 rooms; an underground area, which includes smaller auditoriums, meeting rooms, annexed services and parking; and the congressional area, and the so-called Nuvola with its 1,850 seat auditorium. The central air-conditioning system, which is based on Climaveneta variable-flow units, allows the system to optimize the energy consumption considering the real thermal loads of the building.

Places to see in ( Rome - Italy ) Auditorium Parco della Musica
Places to see in ( Rome - Italy ) Auditorium Parco della Musica
Parco della Musica is a large public music complex in Rome, Italy, with three indoor concert halls and an outdoor theater in a park setting, hence its name. It was designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano; Jürgen Reinhold of Müller-BBM was in charge of acoustics in the three concert halls; Franco Zagari was landscape architect for the outdoor spaces. Parco della Musica lies somewhat north of Rome’s ancient city center, where the 1960 Summer Olympic Games were held, and is home to the world-famous Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
The halls are Sala Santa Cecilia, with about 2800 seats; Sala Sinopoli, in memory of conductor Giuseppe Sinopoli, seating about 1200 people; and Sala Petrassi, in memory of Goffredo Petrassi, with 700 seats. Structurally separated for sound-proofing, they are nonetheless joined at the base by a continuous lobby. (Collectively they have acquired nicknames, such as “the blobs,” “the beetles,” “the turtles,” and “the computer mice”.) The outdoor theater, called the Cavea, recalls ancient Greek and Roman performance spaces. The complex has a fan-shaped layout around its central piazza.
During construction, excavations uncovered the foundations of a villa and an oil-press dating from the 6th century BC. Renzo Piano then adjusted his design scheme to accommodate the archaeological remains and included a small museum to house artifacts discovered, delaying the project’s completion by a year. Parco della Musica was inaugurated on 21 December 2002. Within a few years it became Europe’s most-visited music facility. In 2014 it had over two million visitors, making it the second-most-visited cultural music venue in the world, after Lincoln Center in New York.
