Tumpek Landep - Ceremony for Metal / Iron objects 2nd Sept 2017
@kintamanitransport.com
Tumpek Landep is a ceremony held in Bali every 6 months (210 days) of the Balinese Puwakon calendar. The phrase Tumpek Landep is derived from the word ‘tumpek’, which means ‘close’ and ‘landep’ which means ‘sharp’. It always falls on a Saturday and it is uniquely held to bless metallic/iron objects. This can be, cars, motor bikes, boats, computers, TV’s, cameras, machinery etc.
In Balinese Hindu history, the rituals held on this day aim to honor Sang Hyang Pasupati, Lord of Heirlooms, for the creation of steel goods. Initially it was a day of rituals given to specific sharp tools made of steel, ‘tombak’ (spear) and ‘keris’ (a double-bladed dagger). These are symbolic items which are used in temples during festivals.
Tumpek landepToday, it is believed that the significant meaning of this ceremony is to revitalize the magical powers of the metallic tools and to sharpen people’s minds and hearts, as they are the ultimate users of technology and machinery. By doing so, people are expected to fight against misery, darkness and ignorance and to suppress the evil behavior within themselves, and choose what is good and bad.
Tumpek landepCeremonies held on this day can be quite elaborate, you will see around Bali cars and bikes dressed with attractive offerings and an array of colorful decorations. The offerings are made by hand from coconut leaves and usually filled with an assortment of food and flowers, most often the traditional Jepun (frangipani) to thank the gods.
Worship may be done at family shrines and temples, plus businesses which use Tumpek landepmachinery or have a lot of metal (such as a car sales showroom) often pay a local priest to come and conduct a blessing ceremony for all the equipment. Traditional dress for ceremonies is worn by men and women. At temples the priest will say prayer and bless the Hindu people (as ultimate users of the metal), rice is placed on the forehead for good thoughts, on the base of the neck for a good kind heart and flowers behind the ear to hear good things.
Tumpek landep had its own ceremony where a local Mangku (Hindu Priest) who is came to the office to bless all the technical equipment/machinery and the new company car! At the outside entrance to the office, offerings, incense and decorations were laid out. Inside the office, an offering was placed next to all the technology. The Priest conducted the mantra (prayer) and a series of bell ringing, blessing the car and every piece of machinery as well as the Kintamani Transport members in attendance.
The Balinese people believe that if these ceremonies do not take place it will cause problems and malfunctions with the metallic objects. For every new metallic object/piece of machinery, a ‘melaspas’ ceremony is performed before it is used or operated. During the ceremony, it is hoped that the Gods will bless the objects as well as their users.
RISKING AN UBER - SEMINYAK TO UBUD | Indonesia Travel Vlog 131, 2018 | Bali Taxi
Uber in Bali is sort of frowned upon, but Seminyak to Ubud was definitely cheaper than a taxi and worth the risk! ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
Going from Seminyak to Ubud got interesting... Taxis have a bit of a strong hold on the Bali market, (possibly all of Indonesia), theres areas that Uber aren't welcome, other than drop offs, and a lot of Seminyak falls into that area. We're not 100% sure if our location in Seminyak was one of those areas, but we eventually managed to get an Uber and make our way to Ubud.
Ubud is an awesome spot, we have a lot of vlog to come from here soon, its got a very different feel to Seminyak and shows another side of Bali as a whole.
Just keep in mind with Taxis in Bali to stick with Bluebird Group Taxis only, theyre legit and run strictly off the meter so you won't get ripped off.

Bali Taxi Driver - Airport Service - Day Trips & More
Best Bali Taxi Driver & Bali Airport taxi service. Ubud & Seminyak taxi and transportation services. Meet Raka, your driver. He owns his own taxi service in Bali and is an exceptional tour guide. He speaks great English, knows the best restaurants, tourist activities, and places to visit in the country.
He will even accompany you as you tour the town, go hiking, or exploring if you need a tour guide and want someone to be your personal photographer! He is that good.
Raka's is a great bali taxi driver who also offers a large van that can fit up to 4 people plus luggage. He is a safe driver and plays incredible music in his ride. (he has an upgraded sound system)
Best of all Raka's taxi rides include exceptional air conditioning which you'll need and want with the humidity and warm summers and winters. Couldn't recommend Raka more.
10 TIPS on how to get through BALI'S ARIPORT
Traveling to a new country, arriving at the new airport can sometimes give us a little bit of anxiety so in today’s episode I’ll share few tips and information about Bali’s airport so when you finally arrive here, it’ll be much easier and less stressful.
Bali's Airport, officially known as Ngurah Rai International Airport is located in the south of Bali and it's very close to most of Bali's main tourist areas. Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu and Tanah Lot are some of the popular spots located in the north of the airport, and Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Benoa and Uluwatu are to the south of the airport. Their two terminals, the international and domestic terminals are right next to each other.
Ok, here are 10 quick tips on how you get through the airport as quickly as possible:
1. When you get off the plane it’s best to move quickly towards the arrivals hall. Depending on the time of day the lines can be pretty long with waiting times that can be longer than 1 hour.
2. Might sound silly but if you can, take a bathroom break on the plane before arrival, it’ll save you a lot of time as the airport’s bathrooms always have big lines, especially ladies rooms.
3. Make sure to complete your immigration arrival form on the plane. Sometimes there’s no more forms left in the arrivals hall, and definitely never any pens, so make sure you grab one from the flight attendant and have one ready and completed. You only need one form per family.
4. If you’re staying in Bali for less than 30 days, you don’t need a visa but if you planning on staying for more than 30 days, remember to head to the VOA Payment counter to Pay for your Visa on Arrival.
5. Keep your passports ready (remember it has to be valid 6 months valid, and have enough space for the sticker). Aside from your passport and filled-out arrival form, make sure to also have your boarding pass as it is required from the immigration officer to complete your entrance into Bali.
6. When you have passed through immigration go towards the conveyor belt to pick up your luggage (check the number on TV screens according to your flight number). Unfortunately, this airport is known for its slow baggage handling, so just be patient.
7. Once you have collected your luggage proceed to the customs line where you hand over your arrival form and will be directed either to the exit or towards the X-ray screening.
Make sure you do not bring more than IDR million 100,000,000 (7000 US$)
8. You’ll need some IDR to pay for the taxi so you can either withdraw money from the ATM located at the airport or there are also a couple of reputable money changers at the airport alongside the ATM’s. You can use these without any risk of being ripped off as they are completely trustworthy.
9. Transportation - As far as getting a taxi I would recommend organizing your transport beforehand. But you if haven’t done so you have couple options:
A). You will be confronted with a wall of taxi drivers all trying to catch your attention, the drivers can be very aggressive and persistent. You need to do some research on where you going and how much more or less the fare should be and than try to negotiate. Never agree on the first price, it’s always way too much. If it’s your first time in Bali, the experience can be nerve-racking, as I mentioned the drivers can be very abrasive. Again, it’s your first time and you don’t feel comfortable negotiation the price, just organize your taxi prior to your arrival.
B). If you don’t have a lot of luggage, you can just ignore all the local taxi drivers at the airport, walk outside the airport and order GRAB or GOJEK which is their version of UBER and it works the same exact way. The prices are way cheaper than the local taxis. Remember to download the app and register beforehand.
C). We haven’t used that option yet but there is a TAXI SERVICE counter at the airport. Metered and fixed fares are offered. Just remember to agree on a fare before getting into a taxi.
10. You can buy your sim card at the airport but you’ll usually pay about 3 times the price. I won’t get into details in this video about prices but if you want to get an Indonesian sim card right away I would recommend asking your taxi driver to stop at the legit phone store and purchase it there versus buying it at the airport.
I think that’s all the tips I have for you guys regarding the airport. Hope this will make your arrival into Bali a little easier. If you have some additional tips please share them in the comments below. Safe travels guys!

Use Grab Bali, Not Taxis | Cheapest Airport Transfer, Better Than Uber, Private Driver
If you're looking for the best and cheapest way to travel in style during your stay on Bali, look no further than your phone and the app Grab. I've been a huge fan since I first moved to Malaysia earlier this year. I use their service Grab Car instead of taxis almost daily in Kuala Lumpur, I've used their drivers the couple of times I've travelled to Singapore, and I used Grab Car instead of taxis or Uber exclusively during my recent month in Bali. From the airport to Jimbaran, in and around Seminyak, from the Sheraton in Kuta to Ubud, and from The Mulia near Uluwatu to the ferry port in Padangbai. They offer the cheapest rides to and and from Denpasar's International airport and their drivers are kind and keep new, well-maintained vehicles.
For copy/paste instructions to share with the driver in Bahasa to tips on using the Grab app all around Bali (including IMPORTANT how-to instructions for flawless airport pick-ups and drop-offs), visit my full review:

THIS VIDEO:
So now its time to leave gili-air and head in more central to the main area in bali, wich is kuta. kuta is like a big city in bali, almost kinda like denpasar. But the reason why we went here was because it was close to the airport and we felt that it was easier to get their if we lived nearby. so a busy day after going by boat ( wich splashed and kept us soaking wet the entire ride) and shuttle bus. first thing that happens when we arrive to kuta is that 2 guys that were friends appereantly ( a guard and a cab driver) was offering us a ride to the hotel and tried to tell us their was just way to long to walk.. luckily we got rescued by another couple and were set of to discover kuta by our own. after that more salesman tried to sell us things and the weather didnt change for the better. however a decent first day of kuta i shall not complain that much as i do in the video but overall i was still happy. i was probably to relaxed after leaving gili air so i wasnt used to the high tempo in kuta.. anyways hope you guys enjoy!

BACKGROUND:
IF YOU ARE NEW! On my channel you will be tagging along on my daily adventures or just see me to do what I love which is to make an entertaining video. I do daily vlogs, producing music, reaction videos you name it! Why? Well, the reason is simple. It’s because storytelling and to entertain has and will always be my passion! Youtube has become this storage bank where I basically can save all my memories and look back at whenever I want. Like a big diary if you will! Anyways in my videos you will not see any professional material or exclusive or extremely expensive things that I can brag to you about. No in my videos I will show you who I am and what I do. I will not make videos just to earn some quick bucks or make some videos that collect many views. No I will make videos that I personally will feel good about.

Riding Taxis in Bali - Easy and Safe
- Riding Taxis in Bali is Easy and Fun!
As I travel the world and people find out that I have been to Bali so many times that they ask for a bit of advice on Riding Taxis in Bali.
The first piece of advice I give anyone about Bali is about the Taxis that service Bali.
You will first experience taxis at the airport. After a brief stop at customs that is usually painless comparing to many countries.
You buy your taxi for a zone price. The closer to the airport the cheaper the ride will be. It’s a set price and no need to pay anymore to the driver. No meter is involved in an airport taxi ride.
When you start using taxis while moving around town make certain you ask the driver if he has a meter and that it’s working before getting into the taxi.
Taxi drivers that don’t use a meter seem to be the one that like to over charge or negotiate for a set price. Usually the meter will get you a much better price.
Riding Taxis in Bali is usually very inexpensive and by following my # 1 rule when in Bali you will save more money to use while having a great time.
