Winter Storm - Salem Maritime National Historic Site
Winter Storm Juno dumped more than 24 of snow on Salem Maritime National Historic Site in Salem, MA beginning on January 26th, 2015. The park experienced blizzard conditions for almost 24 hours, including winds over 45 MPH and a 2FT storm surge at high tide. This 48-hour timelapse documents the entire storm as it descends on the park and the city of Salem.

The Salem Maritime National Historic Site is a National Historic Site consisting of 12 historic structures, 1 replica tall-ship and about 9 acres (36,000 m2) of land along the waterfront of Salem Harbor in Salem, Massachusetts. Salem Maritime is first National Historic Site established in the United States (March 17, 1938)[1]and interprets the triangular trade during the colonial period; privateers during the American Revolution; and global maritime trade with the Far East, after independence. The Salem Maritime National Historic Site is a National Historic Site consisting of 12 historic structures, one replica tall-ship, and about 9 acres (36,000 m2) of land along the waterfront of Salem Harbor in Salem, Massachusetts. Salem Maritime is the first National Historic Site established in the United States (March 17, 1938). It interprets the Triangle Trade during the colonial period, in cotton, rum, sugar and slaves; the actions of privateers during the American Revolution; and global maritime trade with the Far East, after independence. The National Park Service manages both the National Historic Site and a Regional Visitor Center in downtown Salem. The National Park Service (NPS) is an agency of the United States Department of the Interior.
In 2014, the National Park Service, which runs the Salem Maritime National Historic Site, released figures and statistics for 2012: there were 756,038 visitors to Salem who spent an estimated $40,000,000. The National Park Service celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2016.

Plaques found on many of the historic buildings in Salem indicate when the building was built and often other information such as who the home was built by/for and other information, such as occupation.
A Paul Revere Bell cast out of the bell foundry of Paul Revere.
The House of the Seven Gables, the home made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel by the same name. The property is now a museum offering tours of this building and Nathaniel Hawthorne's Birthplace (which was moved from its original location and relocated adjacent to The House of the Seven Gables).
The First Church in Salem, founded by Puritans in 1629, today is a Unitarian Universalist Church in downtown Salem.
The Witch House, the only structure still standing in Salem with direct ties to the Witchcraft Trials of 1692, offers tours.
The Ropes Mansion, an historic Georgia Colonial mansion build in the 1720's. It is operated by the Peabody Essex Museum and open to the public for tours.
The Pickering House (circa 1651) is Salem's oldest house.
And many other historic yards and buildings along Derby Street and Chestnut Street, near Salem Common, and in other historic neighborhoods in Salem.
