Hello everyone!! This is the channel of GOTO ISLANDS focusing on the highlights of the Goto Islands(an archipelago of some 140 islands)on the East China Sea. Today, unlike other uploaded my videos, I uploaded self introduction video of my tour. (2nd one!!)
The destination of the tour is a castle town of SAKURA located in Chiba, that is approximately 1,100 km far away from the Goto Islands and unexpectedly has many things in common with the archipelago in terms of history and culture. That's why I have offered the tour of the town!!
For example, SAKURA Castle used to serve as a strategic point to protect the east of Edo(old Tokyo), which reminds me of the historical fact that Ishida castle in the Goto Islands was constructed as an early warning post for foreign ships approaching the Japanese shore at the end of the Edo Period,and was ideal fortress to be used as a coastal defense.
Incidentally,I'm now planning the tour of the Goto Islands, too!!

(皆さん、今日は!! 東シナ海を臨む140余りもの島々からなる五島列島の見所を中心に取り上げる番組、“GOTO ISLANDS”です。今日は、ちょっと他のビデオと違って、マイツアーの紹介ビデオです(二本目です)。当ツアーは、五島列島から、遠く1100km離れた千葉の城下町佐倉ですが、意外にも文化歴史面で五島とは共通点が多い事からツアーを用意してみました。例えば、佐倉城は、曾て江戸の東の守りを固める戦略拠点の役割を果たしましたが、その事は、五島列島の石田城が、幕末に日本沿岸に近づく外国船に備えての警戒駐屯地として築城され、沿岸警備に供されるべき砦として理想的な城郭であったと言う史実を想起させるものです。

Ishiguro Samurai House - Akita - 石黒家 - 4K Ultra HD
Located in the center of Akita prefecture in the city of Kakunodate, the Kakunodate samurai district, which used to house about 80 families, is one of Japan’s best examples of samurai architecture and housing.
While most of these houses remain intact only six of them are open to the public. Ishiguro’s family house is one of them. Nomura Samurai House is a historic house and garden located in Nagamachi, a well-preserved area west of Kanazawa Castle. The house belonged to the Nomura, a rich family of samurai who served the Maeda family in power from the sixteenth century until the end of the Edo period in the mid-nineteenth century.

Hello everyone!! This is the channel of GOTO ISLANDS focusing on the highlights of the Goto Islands(an archipelago of some 140 islands)on the East China Sea. Today, unlike other uploaded my videos, I uploaded self introduction video of my tour.
The destination of the tour is a castle town of SAKURA located in Chiba, that is approximately 1,100 km far away from the Goto Islands and unexpectedly has many things in common with the archipelago in terms of history and culture. That's why I have offered the tour of the town!!

Cherry blossom in Kakunodate 秋田・角館の桜(sakura)祭り 武家屋敷・桧木内川堤 角館観光 Samurai houses
撮影：2013年５月10日。今でも桜並木と武家屋敷の町並みが残る角館は、江戸時代に佐竹藩の支藩が置かれた町。各家屋敷のシダレザクラは、今から350年前、京都から迎えたお姫さまのお嫁入り道具の中にあった3本の苗木が最初。それが元となって長い年月を経て、今日まで残る「角館のしだれ桜」になったと言われている。樹齢300年以上の老樹を含む町内には約400本あり、162本が国の天然記念物に指定されて華麗に咲き乱れる。「みちのくの小京都」と呼ばれるだけあり、町並みが武家屋敷の黒板塀が続き、江戸時代の城下町にタイムスリップしたかのように歩いて楽しめる。桜はシダレザクラで、木立が大きいのが特徴。

Cherry blossom in Kakunodate
Kakunodate is a former castle town in the eastern region of Akita.
And it is the location of one of the Tohoku Region's most popular cherry blossom spots.
Three-hundred fifty years ago, a noble lady from Kyoto brought as part of her dowry three saplings.
From those humble beginnings many years have passed, and those saplings have become the famous Weeping Cherries of Kakunodate. Delicate pink blossoms shine against the black boards of samurai mansion walls, making the town a study of elegant contrasts.
The river that runs through the town is lined with cherry trees, the pride of the district.
