World’s largest cherry garden? 10,000 cherries in bloom in Wuhan, China
Located near East Lake in central Chinese city of Wuhan, the Moshan Cherry Blossom Garden has attracted thousands of tourists since mid-March.
This garden covers an area of 260 acres. There are more than 10,000 cherry blossom plants in it. The first batch of cherry blossoms are presented by Deng Yingchao, wife of China’s former premier Zhou Enlai. They were a gift from former Japanese Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka.
Most cherry blossom plants are cultivated by joint investment of China and Japan in the year of 1998.
Now Moshan at East Lake of Wuhan is billed as one of the world’s three largest cherry gardens. The other two are at Washington State of America and Aomori Prefecture in Japan.
Fish seen on flooded streets of central China’s Wuhan
Wuhan, the capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, is on red alert for more heavy rainfall. Now, after the torrential downpours overnight, the city has been inundated. In the latest video showing the current scene of the downtown area, plenty of fish were seen swimming in the flooded streets. Take a look.

US Navy Surfaced 3 Submarines to Warn China
Long-range heavy b0mbers are some of the best forces for crisis stability. B0mbers are powerful, mobile and visible, perfect for signaling strength and intent.
On the other hand, the U.S. Navy’s submarine-launched cru!se miss!les are less effective, even counterproductive for crisis stability, because they’re invisible most of the time.
S L C M could contribute to the instability. The opponent’s anxieties might be magnified by the ability of S S G N or cru!se miss!le submarines to posture in stealth nearby.”
But one instance when the US Navy’s Ohio-class S S G N actually did help stabilize a crisis back in 2010, a feat mostly lost to history.
“In July 2010, three S S G N surfaced nearly simultaneously in Western Pacific and Indian Ocean waters, allegedly to signal U.S. displeasure over Chinese m!ss!le tests in the East China Sea.”
Major m!ss!le tests are potentially provocative and destabilizing. America’s intent in the aftermath of the Chinese tests was to signal U.S. strength with just the right amount and kind of potential force.
Submarines seemed to fit the bill, as if Washington were saying to Beijing, “Sure, you might surprise us with your m!ss!les. But we remember we have plenty of m!ss!les of our own and they’re not far from you.”

The summer nights of Wuhan are full of colourful neon lights.
Take a look at the Yangtze River Light Show and leave a gorgeous photo.
Hang out on Han Street for the boutiques and buyer’s shops.
If you are a foodie, what about calling up three or five old friends, enjoying the evening breeze, having spicy crayfish on the side of the road.
If you are keen on live house, there is always a small band in Lumo Road's VOX to ease your nerve.
Every summer comes as scheduled. One side of neon lights, one kind of life.

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Wang Ding, director, Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences:
They have some water out of their mouth, spitting to your body. It kind of connects between you and the animals, so you can feel their happiness, and it can help you to feel happiness.
7. Mid shot of Wang getting a kiss from a porpoise
8. SOUNDBITE: (English) Wang Ding, director, Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences:
So, it's still pretty much in danger, and based on our analysis, it will go extinct in the next 15 years. So the next 15 years is a very much critical time for us to try to help this animal.
9. Mid shot of trainer with porpoise
10. Close shot of trainer's hand feeding porpoise
11. Mid of porpoise getting blood sample taken and then being fed
UPSOUND: (English) Wang Ding, director, Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences:
This is kind of training for collecting blood samples. For example, if we want to monitor the status for reproduction, we need to collect samples very frequently. We used to have to drain all the water, and then get them to lie down on some kind of foam. And it takes time, and also a lot of money, because of water and electricity and it's also not good for the animal.

A lot of illegal fishing activities were going on here. So every year we found animals that were injured. But since the nature reserve was established, especially after the year of 2003, because of the relocation of the fishermen, (which) found new livelihoods for the fishermen, we found less human disturbance, less illegal fishing activities going on here. That's why the population here is increasing all the time.

Could seawater rice determine the future of food security?
China is home to 100 million hectares of wasteland – that's an area the size of Egypt – where crops cannot grow due to high soil salinity or alkalinity. For decades, the Chinese government and scientists have made great efforts to improve soil quality, and now, hope is on the horizon. A hybrid crop called saltwater rice is able to grow and yield in various saline-alkali soils, including tundra and dessert.
