Dramatic Closed Circuit Television footage shows the moment a two-year-old girl was caught as she fell from an apartment window in Turkey.
The Syrian toddler, Doha Muhammed, was caught by 17-year-old Algerian immigrant Feuzi Zabaat who noticed she was about to fall from the window of her home in the Fatih district of Istanbul.
Zabaat, who was working in a frame workshop on the same street, positioned himself underneath the second floor apartment window and caught the girl before she hit the ground. Muhammed survived the accident without any injuries. (Reuters)

Hero lad catches two-year-old girl who fell out of second floor window
A toddler has been dramatically saved after plummeting from a two-storey-high apartment window. Straight into the arms of a hero teen.
Video footage shows the heart-stopping moment Feuzi Zabaat, 17, lurches forward in the street and manages to catch the falling tot, with just centimetres to spare.
The Demirören news agency in Turkey said that the two-year-old girl, Doha Muhammad, survived the fall in Fatih, Istanbul, without even bleeding.
She had apparently wandered to the window while her mum was busy cooking.
In the agency's footage of the incident, obtained from nearby security cameras, Feuzi, who works in a frame manufacturing workshop, can be seen in shorts and a yellow t-shirt standing in the road, while other kids chat on the footpath nearby.
He suddenly looks up, and notices the toddler balancing precariously on the window above him.
Striding towards the path, the teen leaps forward with his arms stretched out and – amazingly – manages to catch her.
While he clutches the shocked child, another man dashes over the road to help him, collecting the girl’s clothes which had fallen onto the street through the force of the fall.
As a small crowd gathers around them, the boy then gently rocks Doha to calm her down as she starts crying. While the other kids chat on the footpath nearby.

Man Saves Baby Falling From 2nd Floor Window in Turkey
A young man turned into the hero of the hour in Istanbul after he was seen catching a toddler as she plummeted from a second-floor window.
Fawzi Zabaat, a 17-year-old Algerian, was walking in the working-class district of Fatih when he saw the two-year-old Syrian girl playing near the open window of her apartment last week.
On the video, released this week, he is seen trying to alert those around him, before stepping in to catch her as she hurtles towards the pavement.
The teenager has remained modest, when interviewed on Wednesday by the Dogan news agency, which published the images.
I was just walking in the road when I saw the little girl at the window. She fell, and thanks to God, I caught her before she hit the ground, he said.

This is the shocking moment a building collapses on top of a bulldozer.
Alper Acer captured a supporting beam fall from a construction site in Istanbul, Turkey, on July 24.
After the metal barrier fell to the ground, parts of the wall above slowly but surely follow.
Finally, a huge pile of rubble, mud and trees crashes to the ground on top of a bulldozer at the bottom.

Hagia Sophia, Istanbul, Turkey. Video 2
The great Church/Mosque from the second floor.
Military Museum (Askeri Muze),Harbiye,Istanbul
The Turkish Military Museum (Asker Müzesi) is located just north of Taksim, easily walkable. The military museum is an enormous 2 story building that houses countless military artifacts from Turkey's Byzantine and Ottoman past, as well as from the Republic. The top floor is a monument to the splendor of the Ottoman army. There are rooms full of armour, guns, swords, cavalry equipment, and a Turco-German friendship corner that commemorates the cooperation between the two during WWI. On the top floor there is also a room dedicated to Atatürk, as well as his old military school classroom. Also on the top floor is another of one of the most impressive sites, the giant chain that the Byzantines used to block off the Golden Horn during the Ottoman seige of Istanbul. The bottom floor contains an amazing display of captured flags from Italy, Britian, Byzantium, as well as others. There are also some of the imperial pavillions, as well as a giant wall in which are carved all the major battle of Turkish history, everything from Manzikiert, to the Seiges of Vienna, to Gallipoli. One of the main reasons to come to the military museum is to see a performance by the mehter who were the Ottoman military band, and supposedly the first military band in history. The band wears perfectly replicated uniforms, and plays the music exactly like it was over 5 centuries ago. The Asker Müzesi is definitely worth a trip for its historic value, because it is hardly crowded, and just because it so cheap. Although note that cameras require an extra fee.

Hagia Sophia Interior Panorama Istanbul Turkey Vacation Old Town Ottoman Empire
I enter Hagia Sophia and do a Panorama view including the interior dome.
From Wikipedia:
Museum (1943--present)
In 1935, the first Turkish President and founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, transformed the building into a museum. The carpets were removed and the marble floor decorations such as the Omphalion appeared for the first time in centuries, while the white plaster covering many of the mosaics was removed. Nevertheless, the condition of the structure deteriorated, and the World Monuments Fund placed Hagia Sophia on 1996 World Monuments Watch, and again in 1998. The building's copper roof had cracked, causing water to leak down over the fragile frescoes and mosaics. Moisture entered from below as well. Rising ground water had raised the level of humidity within the monument, creating an unstable environment for stone and paint. With the help of financial services company American Express, WMF secured a series of grants from 1997 to 2002 for the restoration of the dome. The first stage of work involved the structural stabilization and repair of the cracked roof, which was undertaken with the participation of the Turkish Ministry of Culture. The second phase, the preservation of the dome's interior, afforded the opportunity to employ and train young Turkish conservators in the care of mosaics. By 2006, the WMF project was complete, though other areas of Hagia Sophia continue to require conservation.[32]
Today, use of the complex as a place of worship (mosque or church) is strictly prohibited.[33] However, in 2006, it was reported that the Turkish government allowed the allocation of a small room in the museum complex to be used as a prayer room for Christian and Muslim museum staff.[34] The museum's hours are 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, Tuesday through Sunday; entry fee is 20 TL, or free with the use of a Museum Card.
Turkish fine arts photographer Ahmet Ertuğ's close-up pictures of the restored mosaics can be viewed in the upper northern gallery of the Hagia Sophia in a permanent exhibition.[35]

Most INSANE Doner Kebab in Istanbul! (and Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to Rome)!

►Check out my Istanbul travel guide:
Day 13: Istanbul to Rome on Turkish Airlines - On Day 13 of our Round The World Trip with Star Alliance, I first had the most insanely amazing doner kebab I’ve ever had, and then we went to the airport, enjoyed the Istanbul Turkish Airlines lounge, before flying with Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to Rome.
00:53 Tarihi Karadeniz Döner - My friend Tuba from says this place serves the best doner kebab in Istanbul, and she’s no joking around. The first thing you notice when you arrive to Tarihi Karadeniz Döner is the biggest round of doner that you’ll likely ever see in your life - it’s absolutely incredibly beautiful. Many people order their doner kebab for takeaway, but they have some seating upstairs where you can grab a seat and enjoy your doner kebab immediately after its shaved off. I ordered a plate of doner kebab meat, which was absolutely awesome. The meat was shaved perfectly, so it was slightly crispy, yet juicy and flavorful all the way through. Then I also ordered the iskender kebab (İskender kebap), another Turkish food I had been longing to eat. The doner kebab meat is sliced off, then combined with tomato sauce, sheep butter, and yogurt. Finally, to wash down the doner, I also had a cup of ayran. Total price - 46 TL ($15.45)
7:19 Taxi to Istanbul Atatürk Airport - After the amazing doner kebab at Tarihi Karadeniz Döner, we then checked out of our hotel and jumped in a taxi to the airport. Price - 57 TL ($19.14)
8:13 Turkish Airlines Lounge - I haven’t been to too many lounges, but the Turkish Airlines lounge in Istanbul is one of the most amazing airline lounges in the world. There was so much good food and so many drinks and beverage options. I was honestly pretty full after devouring all that doner kebab, but I did have a chance to try Turkish manti and then I went in for some salad.
12:05 Turkish Airlines Flight from Istanbul to Rome - We then caught our flight on Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to Rome. Turkish Airlines is an amazing airline with great service, and I love how there’s a chef on board. For lunch I had the kebab and it was pretty good.
16:45 Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport - The flight from Istanbul to Rome didn’t take too long, and we arrive to Rome!
17:16 Bus to Termini Station - 5.90 EUR ($6.59) per person - To get from the airport to the center of Rome we took the bus, which dropped us off at Termini station. From Termini Station we took the Metro to Spagna station.
18:13 Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora - During out time in Rome, we stayed at Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora, located in a great location.

EXPLORING ISTANBUL: The Upper Gallery of historic Hagia Sofia (Aya sofya, Ἁγία Σοφία)
SUBSCRIBE: - The Upper Gallery of Hagia Sofia (Aya sofya, Ἁγία Σοφία), Istanbul (Turkey). A rarely seen part of this magnificent structure, that is, the second floor or level (also called the upper gallery).
Istanbul is a major city in Turkey that straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait. Its Old City reflects cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here. In the Sultanahmet district, the open-air, Roman-era Hippodrome was for centuries the site of chariot races, and Egyptian obelisks also remain. The iconic Byzantine Hagia Sophia features a soaring 6th-century dome and rare Christian mosaics.
Turkey is a nation straddling eastern Europe and western Asia with cultural connections to ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Cosmopolitan Istanbul, on the Bosphorus Strait, is home to the iconic Hagia Sophia, with its soaring dome and Christian mosaics, the massive 17th-century Blue Mosque and the circa-1460 Topkapı Palace, former home of sultans. Ankara is Turkey’s modern capital.
