Sailing in Croatia: Vis Island and Mljet Island
This is the first Episode of our time sailing in Croatia. In this Episode we arrive in Split, Croatia, hop aboard our 40-foot sailboat “Kodo”, and set off on our 2-week sailing adventure in the Dalmatian Coast with our friends, Carey, Demir, Captain Rohan. We spend our days relaxing on the boat, exploring hidden coves, cliff jumping, snorkelling, enjoying the beautiful views and clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, and stop to check out the islands of Vis and Mljet.
We quickly learn that Croatia is the land of great food, beautiful little coastal towns, and is home to the most adorable cats in the world!

Day 1: We sail from Split to Brač, at Milna to the lovely restaurant only a walk away.
Day 2: Brač to Zečevo for a swim, to Hvar's town of Vrboska for the night.
Day 3: Vrboska to Bol on Brač to see Vidova Gora and onto a party at Zlatni Rat
Day 4: Bol to Vis for mopeds around the island.
Day 5: The town of Vis to Komiža to go scuba diving then to dinner.
Day 6: Vis to Hvar Town to eat and party.
Day 7: Hvar Town to Split.
Shot with the GoPro Hero 5, GoPro Hero 4 Silver, DJI Mavic Pro, Canon 7D and iPhone 7.
Check out the full article here:
Saturday, June 10: Depart from ACI Marina Split for the far southwestern side of the island Brač, near the town of Milna. We walked to Kapetanovo Lozje for dinner (personally, probably my favorite meal of the week).
Sunday, June 11: The next morning, I emerged from the cave that was our cabin to find us passing an ex-Yugoslavian military shelter for submarines. “What the what?!” It was a concrete tunnel leading into the island and I wanted to go iiiin. .
Monday, June 12: From Vrboska we headed for Bol on the island of Brač. We anchored for a bit here and a few of us jumped in, but for some reason in this area the water was a bit “oily” (but nothing even close to the TX coast; it was still stunning. You must realize how spoiled we were at this point.).
Tuesday, June 13: Slightly hungover, we made our way to the island Vis. Here, on the north side of the island, was that other submarine shelter Bruno had promised.
Wednesday, June 14: Wednesday brought us to the Green Cave (part of a tiny island on the southeast side of Vis). Wednesday brought many others there as well.
Thursday, June 15: Marina Palmižana was our next stop (cheaper to dock here and taxi than dock at Hvar Town). After showers at the marina, we boat-taxied to Hvar Town. Suh-wanky!
Friday, June 16: Our last full day on the boat, we set sail to island Šolta, where we casually ate, swam, and lounged in the Stomorska inlet (one of the only sandy areas we encountered in all of the Dalmatian coast, and a very calm, quiet area).

Split
Split is the second largest city in Croatia and the largest one on the Dalmatian coast so it stands to reason that you will have a blast when visiting. It is an old city, full of history and culture and also a great starting point for all your adventures along the coast.
Sailing Croatia Boat Tour - Boat Walk-through and Tour
A tour of a typical boat that is used in the Sailing Croatia experiences. I want you to know what the boat is like before you get there! So, here, I walk you through all of the boat and show you what a typical room looks like and how big(small) it is, the bathrooms, eating area, hangout areas, sun-deck, bar, showers, everything.
After seeing this video, you will know exactly what the boat will be like before you go to Croatia and take a sailing tour or cruise.
These boats are used for the Split to Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik to Split, Split to Split, and Dubrovnik to Dubrovnik Croatia sailing tours/experiences. Almost all of the boats are exactly the same or very similar. There are different size boats and slightly different configuration boats, but, the basics and the cabins/bathrooms will be almost exactly the same between the boats.
I was on this boat for a one week sailing experience in Croatia this year. Also, I went with the tour company Busabout, but it doesn't matter which company you use because most of them use the Katarina Line boats; this is the company that actually owns the boats and rents them to the tour companies that then sell the cabins to you.
Also, if you are watching all of my videos in order, note that this video is released out of order.

Croatia VLOG: Setting Sail! The food, Our Sailboat, and a Typical Day
In June of 2019, six of us set sail on a Lagoon 42 catamaran destined to explore the Croatian coastline off Split. This video shares our experiences with the food, the culture, a typical day on the boat, and more!
Tour Croatia in 8 Days by Boat with Go Croatia Sail
It’s no secret that Croatia is quickly becoming one of Europe’s fastest-growing travel hotspots (and it’s not only due to its association with Game of Thrones). If you’re wondering why this sun-soaked destination is moving to the top of so many travellers’ bucket lists, you’re in luck! Today, we’re heading to the glimmering Adriatic coast with Go Croatia Sail, and we’re inviting you to come along for the ride. Join us as we wander through the ancient streets of Dubrovnik, sample local wine in Korčula, and more!
With its stunning natural setting, breezy islands, and glorious seascapes, Croatia sets the stage for a dreamy Adriatic escape of epic proportions. Whatever you want in a holiday, you’ll find it here — whether it’s jaw-dropping scenery, captivating history, or heart-pumping adventure. The variety of things to see and do here is certainly part of its appeal; Croatia is the type of place where you can sunbathe on striking beaches, eat at the finest of restaurants, or party until the sun comes up (or all of the above!).
Dubrovnik may get much of the attention, but there’s so much more to Croatia than this magnificent walled city. Not sure where else to go? Look to this eight-day trip for itinerary inspiration - or just straight-up book it to keep things simple! Covering a mix of fan favourites and lesser-explored locales — from Split to Makarska, Mljet and Hvar — this sailing trip makes for an Adriatic adventure like no other.
If you want to see the best of Croatia (while soaking up as much sun as possible along the way) a sailing trip is the way to go! Are you ready to uncover the treasures of this Balkan gem? Then we think it’s about time you start planning your very own Croatian adventure. Head over to TourRadar today to check availability on this itinerary and tons of others just like it!

BEST VIEWS IN SPLIT | Trogir to Split Ferry | Croatia Travel Vlog
Split is one of the most popular travel destinations in Croatia, so if you're planning to visit on holiday definitely check out the view! ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
We got some recommendations from some Croatian locals about a place we had to make a travel vlog about - it's overlooking Split harbour. Today we set out from Trogir to Split ferry to track down those views and we're glad we did.
Split is known as one of the main holiday destinations in Croatia, but sadly most people will spend their time exploring the inner city or old town itself and never really explore much further. We're here to tell you that your holiday should involve a very small amount of exploring. Definitely head up to the overlooking headlands and get a view back down on Split! Thank us later.
The ferry from Trogir to Split and back was easy by the way, we highly recommend it as a great way to see both places and the incredible Croatia coast.
Thanks to Squarespace for sponsoring todays video. We've recommended Squarespace for some time now and Stace is using the platform to build out her portfolio - it's fresh, an amazing back end and everything just works so easily so we can highly recommend them. V043 // SPLIT, CROATIA - THE YACHT WEEK CANNOT BE EXPLAINED.. IT CAN ONLY BE EXPERIENCED.
2013 AUG
Filmed during Week 34, 2013 Croatia South Red Route.
The Dock Week
It all began in a town called Spliff,
Correction, that's what our captain called his joint, I mean Split.
A group of 9 friends sharing a mansion apartment with a view,
But we would soon be a family aboard Lina 2.
We spent a fortune on groceries...
Yet somehow only ate salami and cheese.
Who cares anyway,
It's basically free.
I guess all the nutrition we needed to hack it,
Was in those cans...yellow or red jacket?
We met our skipper Kevin,
Or was he just a stow-away in our cabin?
Either way he turned out fucking awesome
We love you, feet and all, captain Kev-cum!
SS Hvar Out was all set to sail Yacht week.
But instead we started Dock week.
Anyone up for a schmoke and a peek?
We had no idea what Dock week would bring,
Fluid girls, shit geysers, and Regatta racing.
Non-stop raging, Harlem shaking.
Pirate ships, and one-way blackout train tix.
We danced in the castle moonlight with glowsticks galore.
...I've never heard this song before.
We jumped from high rocks, all of us so brave.
And we took our family dinghy through the Blue Cave.
No troughs, no sleep, just recovery on this ship.
You can fix your boliglava with an Adriatic dip.
So here's to the crew: Fluid Vla, Unsta-gator, Handstand,
7 Tickets To Blackout Train, Rage, Google Drix, The Pro,
Captain Kev-cum and me, Dr. G
One cannot explain The Yacht Week.
You have to experience it.
So to my forever friends,
Love you, MEAN IT!
...just one more thing, has anyone seen our skipper???

Croatia: Adriatic Delights
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | A fascinating land with a hard-fought history in a complex corner of Europe, Croatia is emerging as one of Europe's top destinations. Sampling the very best of Croatia, we start by exploring the fabled Dalmatian Coast from dramatic Dubrovnik to crusty Adriatic island ports. Heading inland, we hike through Plitvice Lakes National Park and enjoy the thriving capital city Zagreb. Our Croatian finale: the Istrian Peninsula and its enchanting port town of Rovinj.

28. AMAZING BLUE LAGOON!!! Sailing croatia | sailing around the world | sail
This week on Kawai we are happy to share our sailing lifestyle with Trace's brother, also named Jase, who has come to visit us from Australia. We collect him from Split in Croatia and after a night out celebrating his arrival and a storm the following day, we head for the Blue Lagoon. We had heard so much about Blue Lagoon and needed to check it out. Jase took the drone up and filmed Kawai under full sail which we really appreciated.
Blue lagoon lived up to expectations, the water was very clear and much like a swimming pool. It was quite busy and getting busier, due to this and some stronger winds predicted combined with a sketchy anchorage, we decided to move on to a better anchorage for the night. We chose Vinisce Bay close by which was a great place to anchor.
We moved quickly down the Croatian Coast visiting many different anchorages including Uvala Donja and Ulava Necuiam on Solta Island and Uvala Smrka and Zlatni Rat on Brac Island. Zlatni Rat is a favourite of ours and we enjoyed the night anchored as we always planned to bring Kawai back here. The weather was perfect with crystal clear water and an incredible sunset, everything we had hoped for while in Bol.
With so much to see we left early and set sail to Jelsa on the Island of Hvar. We had booked for wine and olive oil tasting at Dubokovic winery and it was fantastic, i would definitely recommend this if in Jelsa. We also visited Hvar Town on Hvar Island and the Pakleni Islands, which are beautiful and very popular, especially for those looking to party. After sailing to our last stop on Jase's trip, Mljet, we enjoyed a unique dinner where we were picked up in the restaurant's RIB and enjoyed a beautiful traditional meal of fish peka.
After saying sad goodbyes to Jase we made the most of the Zaton Bay anchorage we were in, enjoying day trips to Dubrovnik and visiting Ston.
About us:
Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai.
We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia.
Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :)
