Shakespeare & Company - Paris, France - Classic Bookshop
Classic bookshop Shakespeare & Company located in Paris very close to Notre Dame. Awesome shop with a lot to discover. They had all kinds of recent books, but also a lot of antiques in showcases and import literature from Russia, Spain, Germany ect.!
What is worth to mention about this shop is that you can use it as a youth hostel that, if I'm informed correctly, does not require to be payed for - guests are asked to help out in the shop instead.

Mosaïque concert series - Brick-5 Vienna AUSTRIA
Mosaïque is an innovative concert series brought to life by
pianists Deirdre Brenner and Chanda VanderHart. It takes place once per month in Brick-5, a beautiful, lofted space that was once a pea-shucking factory in Vienna's 15th district.
Each concert features performers of the highest class and combines art song with at least one other element such as dance, instrumental chamber music, declamation, visual art, choir, stage design, video installation or fashion.
This marriage of song with other artistic forms makes the concerts attractive to a broad audience. The relaxed atmosphere of the venue creates an intimacy between artist and audience, with performers often sharing their thoughts and feelings about the works they perform. Every concert has its own unique theme and many contain elements of surprise and humor.

Romeo and Juliet in Sarajevo. A Shakespeare Musical
Sergei Dreznin. Composers Notes
We came from Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, Russia, the United States and Austria, and met here in Vienna, where every visitor wandering the ancient narrow streets can feel how the past mingles with the present. Where else to create a show in which Shakespeare's play is pierced through with scenes from the war in Bosnia, part of Austria's 19th century empire, now just an hour's flight away? As the Broadway hit Rent brought Puccini opera into the 1990s world of New York's Lower East Side, we take a classic and create a modern, multiethnic musical. Shakespeare's immortal lines are sung and infused with new life through the rhythmical power of rap, the seductive sounds of rock and the sheer appeal of jazz. Through this, we seek to share the beauty, passion and tragicomedy of our world as it looks on the verge of a new millenium. After playing in Austria, Croatia and Bosnia we bring our production back to its birthplace Vienna, where its 1995 premiere -- on the day the Dayton peace accord was reached. In September 1996 production opened the International Multicultural Theater Festival In Vienna.
Music: SERGEI DREZNIN
Text: William Shakespeare

Swan Theatre wrap | 2015 | Royal Shakespeare Company
That’s a wrap: Swan Theatre’s new look
As we restore the Grade II* listed Swan Wing, which is the oldest part of the RSC’s theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon, we have wrapped the building with a replica photograph of the Swan Theatre frontage. In this film watch as the 26 M wide x 16 m high banner is lifted over the building. The restored building and a new exhibition will open in 2016, to coincide with the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

Reading of Arthur Schnitzler—Being Jewish
Performed by Annabelle Gurwitch and Sam Tsoutsouvas
Arthur Schnitzler—Being Jewish, a staged reading based on Schnitzler's journals and correspondence, focuses on the renowned and controversial Austrian writer's conflicted feelings about his Jewish identity. After the performance, a panel discussion situates Schnitzler and his contemporaries, including Gustav Klimt, in the cultural and political context of 19th- and early-20th-century Vienna.
This event was organized by the Getty Research Institute and the J. Paul Getty Museum with the support of the Austrian Consulate General in Los Angeles, the Austrian-American Council West, and the Austrian Cultural Forum New York.

Shakespear's Sisters - A Fickle Favours Production
Fickle Favours is a new, Belfast-based theatre company that creates and stages work showcasing women's writing, acting and directing. There is a noted imbalance in the representation of women in theatre here in NI and in the UK in general and we are seeking to address this .
Shakespeare was chosen as our first project because the frequency with which Shakespeare plays are produced in the UK seems to be adding greatly to the gender imbalance in theatre. Shakespeare wrote his plays as a man of his time, mostly for a male audience and cast, intending even the female characters to be played by men.
We wanted to give modern Northern Irish female writers, directors and actors a chance to explore the perspective of some of Shakespeare's most memorable female characters.
