We had amazing road trip from Split - Krka - Vodice - Sibenik - Trogir. In this video you can see our stop in amazing town of Sibenik , Croatia. In Sibenik we visited old town , St. Nicola's Fortress , St Michel's fortress and fortress Barone.

Sibenik (Croatia) Vacation Travel Video Guide

On Croatia’s Mediterranean-like coast, one of Dalmatia’s most beautiful cities is situated within a sheltered bay, the mediaeval city of Šibenik. Sveti Jakov, the Holy Jakob Cathedral, was its architectural masterpiece and today the most important sacred Renaissance building in Dalmatia. The oldest of the city’s three castle complexes has a magnificent view across the red tiled roofs of the old town. Where today a cemetery occupies this strategic location, this was once the defensive centre of the city until the fortress that was located here was destroyed by lightning. From 1797 to 1918 Šibenik was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, interrupted by a short period of French occupation. Next, the Second World War, and then numerous warring factions. Outside the remains of the double city walls and a Franciscan monastery church, is a small monastery garden, a tranquil place whose splendour captivates and reminds those who come here of the city’s long and dramatic history. Today it is a splendid mirror that reflects the city’s dramatic and colourful past.

Šibenik is a political, educational, transport, industrial and tourist center of Šibenik–Knin County and also the third-largest city in the historic region of Dalmatia. It is the oldest native Croatian town on the shores of the sea.
Unlike other cities along the Adriatic coast, which were established by Greeks, Illyrians and Romans, Šibenik was founded by Croats. Excavations of the castle of St. Michael, have since proven that the place was inhabited long before the actual arrival of the Croats. It was mentioned for the first time under its present name in 1066 in a Charter of the Croatian King Petar Krešimir IV and, for a period of time, it was a seat of this Croatian King. For that reason, Šibenik is also called Krešimirov grad (Krešimir's city).”

KRKA National Park is fantastic. You take a boat and sail into the park, and then at the bottom of all together 9 waterfalls, you can take a swim. It's cold BUT so much fun:) We did the hole loop hike and let me tell you, don't miss the top part with the shallow water, it's like an enchanted forrest:)
For dinner we headed to Sibenik by the coast and had an amazing dinner on a square right across from the cathedral:)

D-Resort Šibenik Croatia
The D-Resort Šibenik is a stunning hotel that sits on the Croatian Adriatic coast. We got a chance to stay at this beautiful resort with friends of ours on our summer Šibenik Croatia trip.
My wife and I don’t usually splurge like this when we travel, but our best friends joined us so we decided to raise the bar and rented out an exclusive villa. This villa had everything, including a giant pool on our patio that overlooked the ocean.
D-Resort Šibenik sits right above D-Marin Mandalina, Croatia’s only super-yacht marina. During the day you can watch these massive super yachts dock right below the hotel.
We spent most our time at our private pool and on daily excursions throughout Šibenik. If you’re staying at D-Resort Šibenik, I recommend taking a boat excursion out to sea and visit one of the many islands for lunch. We also took advantage of the 15min drive to Krka National Park where we swam underneath the Krka waterfalls and walked the Skradinski buk trails. The Krka waterfalls are a MUST see, you can learn more about that day trip in my Krka waterfalls vlog here:
Šibenik Croatia:
The city of Šibenik was fantastic! Most people stay in Split or Zadar when visiting Croatia but Šibenik sits right in the middle of both cities. Šibenik is an ancient town with so much to offer. For the best views, take a short climb up to St. Michael’s Fortress. Then go get lost in the city streets. These marble stoned streets are filled with shopping and amazing seafood. The local mussels in Šibenik are very yummy and they serve an endless platter to you no matter where you go. On our last night we went to Pelegrini, michelin star restaurant where they serve you a 6 course meal in style. When the sun goes down, join the locals for a movie downtown as they project it on a screen for all to observe. We’ll definitely be back to this cute little city the next time we’re in Croatia.
