Single Track MTB Ride along the South Platte River, near Denver, Colorado, USA
Take a spring time ride along the South Platte River on a trail used by those who fish, ride horseback, hikers, birders, photographers, and -- naturally -- mountain bike riders. The location is near Waterton Canyon, just inside Chatfield State Park, upstream from the lake (reservoir).
South Platte River Trail Colorado Scenic and Histroric Byway
Beginning at the Colorado Welcome Center, this 19-mile loop features interpretive signage at the original Julesburg townsite, the location of Colorado's only Pony Express home station, and Fort Sedgwick, established in 1864 to protect the trail and telegraph line.

The video 4K City Walks: Denver, Colorado Cherry Creek Area - Virtual Walk Treadmill City guide beginner Treadmill workout Video is a free tour around the large park on the southern side of the city between downtown and Denver University. I filmed using my new GoPro8 but this was the first time I used it and had some issues with the Horizons. Sorry about that. We walk starting out in the little commercial area with a few shops, restuarants, bars, and even a marijuana dispensary. We make our way through a residential area and into the park itself where many people are out being active. We walk past the pond and boat house and then back towards the little neighborhood bars and shops. I hope you enjoy this late afternoon fall walk through Denver's Washington Park Neighborhood.

On a sunny fall afternoon, I filmed 4K City Walks: Denver, Colorado Cherry Creek Area - Virtual Walk Treadmill City guide beginner Treadmill workout Video as a free tour around the fancy Cherry Creek shopping area and then through the Country Club area with it's large fancy houses and up to Cheesman Park and past the Botanical Gardens. It was a nice quiet afternoon with lots of trees shedding their autumn foliage in one of the nicest areas of Denver.

Fly fishing South Platte River Colorado
Caught a few rainbow and brown trout. Using nymphs no indicator and my friend using an indicator on 5x. My current gear is Redington Path, redington waders and korkers greenback boots.

Day 2 Western America Getaway 18/9/19 Denver, Colorado Area
Today was the 2nd day of the tour and as we were staying in Thornton, Denver we visited the Capitol Building, Confluence Park where the South Platte River and Cherry Creek meet, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Evergreen Lake where we walked around the lake,shopped in the town and had ice cream.
It was a great day but not too intense so that we could settle in and get over all the jet lag!

Platte River Trail (Clear Creek to Confluence Park) - Denver, CO
This is a sparsely used section of the Platte River trail that is not particularly scenic. Starting from where the Clear Creek Trail connects to it north of Denver, it follows the Platte River all the way to lower downtown Denver. If you are following the Clear Creek trail, then taking this route is a good way to get to downtown. From there, you can continue going south on the Platte River trail or follow the Cherry Creek trail southeast.
Platte River Trail (Bear Creek to Confluence) - Denver, CO
This 8.5 miles of the Platte River Trail starts south of Denver and ends at Confluence Park near downtown Denver. The trail continues further north and further south (as the Mary Carter Greenway Trail) along the Platte River, this is just a small segment.
Cycling - South Platte Trail to Denver
Cycling South Platte to Downtown Denver. Overall route runs from Highlands Ranch to Chatfield to Confluence Park via the South Platte Trail then to Cherry Creek Reservoir via the Cherry Creek Trail, then to the C470 trail to home. Cherry Creek Trail - Denver, CO
The Cherry Creek trail extends through Denver and beyond. This video captures the approximate 3.4 miles from the country club to Confluence Park by the Platte River. This section of the trail is particularly impressive in that the whole thing is below street level. It follows along Speer Blvd, but never has to cross any intersections. The mile or so closest to the Platte River has bikes and pedestrians split on different sides of the creek. It is a very convenient trail for people to get to and from downtown.

On a crisp fall morning, I filmed 4K City Walks: Denver, Colorado 16th Street Mall to Capitol - Virtual Walk Treadmill City guide beginner Treadmill workout Video as a free tour around downtown along the Sixteenth Street Mall to the state Capitol. I also veer off to look at some of the rest of Downtown including the Brown Palace. Denver is, of course, famous for being the Mile High City. In this walk, I take you downtown and the area known as LoDo. We pass two stadiums including Coors Field, several hotels and restaurants, and lots of coffee shops as well as the train station.
Denver is the gateway to the Colorado Rockies and sits at the intersection of several interstates including I-70, I-25, and I-74. Interstate 70 leads up into the mountains and over to Utah and provides access to several ski resorts. Denver has several universities and professional sports teams including the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Rockies, the Avalanche, and the Nuggets.

Did a nice 27 mile and change loop from the Highlands of Denver, past Mile High Stadium down the South Platte and back up the Cherry Creek trail. Weather was like 80 degrees and perfect sunshine. A great day to be on a bike.
