Saturday, June 10: Depart from ACI Marina Split for the far southwestern side of the island Brač, near the town of Milna. We walked to Kapetanovo Lozje for dinner (personally, probably my favorite meal of the week).
Sunday, June 11: The next morning, I emerged from the cave that was our cabin to find us passing an ex-Yugoslavian military shelter for submarines. “What the what?!” It was a concrete tunnel leading into the island and I wanted to go iiiin. .
Monday, June 12: From Vrboska we headed for Bol on the island of Brač. We anchored for a bit here and a few of us jumped in, but for some reason in this area the water was a bit “oily” (but nothing even close to the TX coast; it was still stunning. You must realize how spoiled we were at this point.).
Tuesday, June 13: Slightly hungover, we made our way to the island Vis. Here, on the north side of the island, was that other submarine shelter Bruno had promised.
Wednesday, June 14: Wednesday brought us to the Green Cave (part of a tiny island on the southeast side of Vis). Wednesday brought many others there as well.
Thursday, June 15: Marina Palmižana was our next stop (cheaper to dock here and taxi than dock at Hvar Town). After showers at the marina, we boat-taxied to Hvar Town. Suh-wanky!
Friday, June 16: Our last full day on the boat, we set sail to island Šolta, where we casually ate, swam, and lounged in the Stomorska inlet (one of the only sandy areas we encountered in all of the Dalmatian coast, and a very calm, quiet area).

Split Croatia Cruise Port & Jadrolinija Ferry
The cruise terminal at Split, Croatia was not the most modern, but at least the ship we were on, the Norwegian Jade, was able to dock. In the video in you see a pair of Jadrolinija ferries, and also a floating platform with a mechanical grabber lifting dirt out of the water. There were also plenty of tour buses parked alongside the dock.
Hvar & Pakleni Islands - Boat Tours from Split
One of the favorite summer destinations in Croatia is definitively town Hvar on Hvar island. Right next to it stands an island archipelago consisting of 16 islands called Pakleni islands. On our boat tours from Split you can browse our tours heading to these islands and experience their beauty first hand. Hvar and Palmizana (main settlement on Pakleni islands) will surely reveal to you all the beauty of this Dalmatian region.

Join us for a ferry from Split to Hvar, Croatia in this travel vlog where we start off the day in Zadar taking a scenic bus ride to Split. Finally it is time to board the ferry and travel from Split to Hvar Island. Witnessing a gorgeous sunset in Split it doesn't take long for it to get dark outside when we arrive in Hvar. After dropping of our bags at rental apartment we then go out for pizza. A long but satisfying travel day!

Ferry from Split to Hvar, Croatia travel vlog Video Transcript:
Well good morning good morning. Good morning guys. Today is a travel day and we're actually it sure is running a little bit late. So let's make this look down at my shoe at the moment. Like I am tying my shoes and we're running out the door. We really don't have a second to spare. Haha. Okay, so basically we're currently in Zadar. Today we're taking the bus to Split and then the ferry to Hvar. We've got a bit of a long connection so that will be great. Maybe we'll do some sightseeing, maybe we'll get some work done but now let's do a quick apartment tour and let's get out of here. Let's do it.
The update is we have arrived here in Split. Yes. And guess what? The bus terminal is right across from the ferry terminal. It couldn't have been any more conveniently located. Yeah. And we weren't sure which bus terminal we were going to get dropped off at because there are two and one of them would have involved a 20 minute walk. Yes. But we are right out on the water. Yep. It is just incredible. And that bus ride that was something spectacular. Like the scenery was just stunning the whole way. It almost felt like we were on a sightseeing trip as opposed to like a normal bus ride. I just couldn't put my camera down so. Yeah, you were filming the whole way.
We've found a little quiet corner here in the ferry terminal. And Sam is making me do math. Yes. So let's talk prices. Bus tickets, we booked them online with Get By Bus and it was 86 Kuna per person which was about 13 US dollars. Yeah, and that was coming from Zadar this morning. Yep. Yeah, Zadar to Split. And then the ferry also booked it online with Jadrolinija and it was 40 Kuna per person which we said was 6 dollars? A little over 6 dollars. Yeah, yeah. So that is pretty good. And something to keep in mind is the bus was what 3.5 hours?
I had my little jaunt around Split. It was wonderful. Like this city is awesome. And you're probably wondering like this is a pretty famous city in Croatia. Yeah, why are we skipping it right now Sam? Why are we skipping it?
The reason being is that we're going to come here next year with my parents. Yes. So in March. We're doing Split and Dubrovnik with them. Yeah, yeah. Exactly. So we're skipping it this time and going to Hvar instead. But uh it certainly looks beautiful and yeah I can't wait to actually properly explore here. Okay, and now time to go find our ferry.
We've arrived! Now it is time to go find our apartment and then go out for dinner to find some pizza and pasta.
Okay guys we picked up some groceries on the way back. Yeah. We are absolutely destroyed. Knackered. Knackered to the next level. So we're going to say goodbye to you from here and yeah thanks for following along on this journey and we can't wait to show you around Hvar. Bye.

Split, Trogir, Blue Lagoon and Hvar, Croatia
This vlog includes drone footage of the Blue Lagoon, Trogir and Hvar
Travel video blog about Split, Trogir, Blue Lagoon and Hvar in Croatia.
We drove from Sarajevo to Split in Croatia at the end of September 2016 (end of summer). Split its best known for its beaches and it is the largest city on the Dalmatian coast. The town also has the largest ferry port in Croatia, so it’s an important base for travelers who wish to visit Croatia’s nearby islands.
We stayed in an Air BNB just 5 minutes’ walk from Split’s main tourist attraction: the Diocletian’s Palace. Split has a vibrant nightlife, with many bars, nightclubs and restaurants and everything can be easily accessed on foot so make the most of your trip, I recommend staying near the palace.
There are many day tours available from Split, and the first day trip we had decided to take was to Trogir and the Blue Lagoon. Our tour departed in the afternoon and after 20 minutes by boat we arrived at our first stop: the Blue Lagoon. We stayed there for a couple of hours swimming and snorkeling and it was very relaxing. Blue Lagoons in Croatia do not have a coral reef, they are normally formed by different small islands which are separated by the shallow lagoon between them. We managed to record some aerial footage of the blue lagoon with our drone which has been incorporated into this travel video.
After leaving the blue lagoon, he headed to the beautiful historical town of Trogir. Trogir, which is a Unesco heritage site, is a little bit smaller than Split but it has a charm of its own. Surrounded from all sides by the sea, the town is colourful and has beautiful architecture. We spend a couple of hours there wandering around and trying some delicacies from the local Market before we headed back to Split for the evening.
On our second day in Split, we decided to visit Hvar, which is the most popular island of Croatia. We could have done it on a day tour, but we had decided to do this trip on our own: early in the morning, we purchased our ferry tickets to go to Hvar from Split and half an hour later, we departed. The ferry ride was smooth and in just under two hours we arrived at our destination. Upon arrival, we did some research about the beaches we could visit for the day and we decided to take the taxi boat to Mline beach, which was just 20 minutes away. I believe this is probably the reason why Hvar is so popular as a travel destination, from there it’s easy to get a taxi boat to many different islands and it is usually cheap (under $20 per person return) so if you stay there, you can visit a different island every day.
Miline beach was located on the Muronkovac Island, and it was the perfect place to relax. As it was the end of summer when we were there, the beach was not busy, the water was crystal clear and the weather was just the way I like, around 25 Celsius degrees (not too hot). I imagine that during summer Hvar and all the islands around must be packed with tourists, so travelling in September was ideal to me. At the end of the day, we returned to Hvar, had dinner in one of its many restaurants and took the boat back to Split.
The next day we would be leaving early in the morning to visit one of Croatia’s main attractions: the waterfalls of Krka National Park. See the link for this video at the bottom of the page.
This video was recorded with three cameras:
1. Go pro 4 in HD videos
2. Panasonic Lumix GX85 in 4K videos
3. Drone footage recorded with a DJ Phanton 3 standard
At the end of our trip to Dubrovnik we travelled to Mostar and then Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, stopping by in places like Kravice Falls, Blagaj, Pocitelj and others. To watch my videos about Bosnia, please find the links at the bottom of this page.
Thanks for watching. If you like the video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe.
I hope that this travel guide and video can help you plan your trip to Split, Blue Lagoon, Trogir and Hvar,
