During our visit to Kuala Lumpur in April 2014 I attended an Easter Mass at St. John's Cathedral. When I lived in KL some years ago I attended mass there every Sunday. At St. John's Cathedral I can always feel the true spirit of the believers. Jesus died for us and his resurrection will save us all. God be with you.

One of the oldest Anglican churches in the country, this cathedral serves as a reminder of the colonial times. Features of Early English Gothic style can be spotted. Interestingly, the impressive pipe organ you can find here was built by the same man who built the one in St Paul's Cathedral in London.

Chinese New Year Mass in St. Mary's Cathedral, Sandakan, Malaysia
In keeping with tradition, the Chinese New Year Mass is always celebrated on the first day of Chinese New Year at 8.00am. Chinese New Year is also called Spring Festival, it falls on 5th of February this year.
The main celebrant is His Lordship Bishop Julius Gitom and con-celebrated by Fr. Thomas Makajil and Fr. Christopher Ireneus.
The cathedral is a sea of red with most parishioners wearing red which symbolizes fortune and joy.
Mandarin oranges and Red packets are distributed which symbolizes good luck.
Immediately after mass, a lion dance provides entertainment which also comes with the noisy beating of drums, cymbals and gongs.

Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall visited the St. Mary's Cathedral on Saturday morning. Their visit is in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the bilateral ties between Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
