Coming to Malaysia we didnt expect Penang Street Art to be the coolest street art we've ever seen, right here in Georgetown! Chew Jetty was also on todays list - we share them both in this vlog. ⬇ Click 'Show More' to expand ⬇
Georgetown is such a cool spot, the street art is all pretty close in a bunch but can be found all round the streets of Penang as well as in some of the Art Gallery spots. This vlog was filmed early November 2017, just before the storms hit :(
If you're also spending some of your Malaysia trip down in Penang be sure to check out Chew Jetty - it's a little touristy but worth having a look around. Chew Jetty is probably one of the most popular spots to visit, but you can also go a bit further down and see Tan Jetty which is much less busy.
All in all, if you visit Penang be sure to check out the street art and Chew Jetty.

Somit nehmen wir euch in einem möglichst authentischen Follow me around (FMA) mit und wünschen euch viel Spaß beim anschauen des Videos :)
TIPP:
Man kann sich auch für einige Stunden oder auch einen Tag eine Rikscha bzw. Trikscha (da dreirädrig) mit Fahrer mieten und sich zu den Streetart Malereien fahren lassen.
Wir hätten es auch gern gemacht, aber es wäre vielleicht zu viel Wind an Jessis Auge gekommen.
Da hatten wir aber wegen der soeben abgeklungenen Entzündung noch zu viele Sorgen drum.

30 Days In PENANG - George Town Malaysia Street Art
We’ve arrived for our 30 days in Penang and our first stop is the incredible George Town Malaysia street art! George Town Penang hosts some of the best street art in the world and we are here to show you guys what it’s all about.
George Town Malaysia is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Malaysia. When researching the best things to do in Penang George Town, street art is always high on the list so we just couldn’t miss it. In 2012, the city hired a Lithuanian, London trained street artists named Ernest Zacharevic. I apologize for saying he was British in the video! The George Town Penang street art is a must see Penang attraction. You can even rent a bike or take a ride on a trishaw for a leisurely roll around the streets of Georgetown.
After enjoying the historic streets of Penang, we decided to head down to the Clan Jetty area for a beer and sunset. There are 8 Clan Jetties that are owned by private Chinese Malaysian families, passed down through generations. A fun fact about the Clan Jetty is that the residents don’t have to pay taxes for being built over water. What a loophole! Penang Island history is seen here at the Clan Jetties, a place where Anthony Bourdain chose to stay and experience authentic Chinese Malaysian culture.
If the best street art in Malaysia doesn’t draw you to George Town Penang, the history, colorful streets and architecture is surely worth a visit. Plus, this is where some of the best food in the entire country resides. The capital city of Penang Island is George Town. This Unesco World Heritage Site is a perfect exploration of the majestic neo colonial buildings. Follow me exploring mural, street art, exotic penang food and street of the historical city in Penang Island. This area bears many similarities to market street in Chennai, Mumbai or Delhi and it is an Penang attractions. It is located in center of George Town Penang Heritage Zone. One of the iconic penang food is the tandoori chicken which I tasted in the video.

Penang Street Art George Town, Penang Malaysia
Georgetown is the capital city of the island and province of Penang. It is the second biggest city in Malaysia and was recorded by UNESCO in 2008 as a 'World Heritage Site', together with individual previous Straits Settlement, Malacca.
It has a history going back to the beginnings of British imperialism in South-East Asia in the eighteenth. century, with its multi-social intrigue reflected in its design, celebrations and nourishment.
In 2012 Penang's city board contracted London-prepared Lithuanian craftsman, Ernest Zacharevic and accused him of breathing new life into a portion of the climatic Chinese shop-houses around the internal city.
A push to bring forth familiarity with the rich history of the roads, the undertaking was a triumph with Zacharevic transforming certain zones into flourishing traveler goals that additionally turned into the much-discussed object of consideration among local people.

Street Art meets Culture. George Town Penang | Travel Malaysia
Zwei Tage haben wir in Georgetown verbracht, eine Stadt auf der Insel Penang, im Nordwesten von Malaysia gelegen.
Gerade in den frühen Morgenstunden und nach dem Sonnenuntergang versprüht die Stadt ihren ganzen Charme. Sobald der Berufsverkehr losgeht und die Sonne ihre ganze Arbeit leistet, verliert sie diesen etwas. Dann flüchtet man am besten in die abseits gelegenen Tempel am Berg (Kek Lok Si Tempel), oder den Penang Hill. Die Altstadt ist für eine asiatische Stadt wunderschön, die Einheimischen geben sich zum Teil richtig Mühe mit ihren Street Arts. Die Clan Jettys, Häuser direkt auf dem Meer gebaut, führen einen etwas in die Vergangenheit Asiens.

LITTLE INDIA & UNIQUE STREET ART in Georgetown, Malaysia - Penang Island (Pulau Pinang) // 178
Today began with a hunt through historic Georgetown, Malaysia on Penang island for great vegetarian food. I set off for Little Indie in Georgetown, which is a vibrant part of the city offering a variety of Indian restaurants with cheap vegetarian options.
If you're looking to eat vegetarian in Penang, Malaysia, don't miss Little India, Georgetown because the options are nearly endless at a wonderful price. However, if you're a digital nomad in Penang, beware. Once I realized the wifi in my hostel would take twelve hours to upload my video, I headed to the local Starbucks. As it turns out, the Starbucks wifi in Penang is horrendous. (I have since found local cafes with much more promising wifi speeds.) As a digital nomad, wifi is crucial. You've probably noticed the irregular YT uploads this week, and that's due 100% to the unbearable wifi.
Another interesting fact about Georgetown, Malaysia is the street art! Street art in Georgetown is eccentric and immensely detailed. It springs up on you on random walls around the city, making you stop and wonder about the world for a few moments.

A day in GEORGE TOWN, PENANG | Street Art, Temples & World Heritage Site!
After taking the train from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Penang, we spent out very first day in the vibrant town of George Town and quickly fell in love with this bustling town!
We enjoyed searching for brilliant street art which was at every turn before visiting some of George Towns many beautiful Temples. Beaten by the humidity, we wolfed down refreshments from a street vendor before finishing our day at the world Heritage site of George Town, Penang.
