The Wild Pigs' Home - 309 Road - Coromandel, New Zealand
Wireless Docs: Pig Man
Stu is a gentle soul who lives with dozens of pigs he calls his mates. He wants a simple life on his family’s old Coromandel farm, but it’s not easy – the farm is in the middle of pig hunting territory, and Stu is forced to defend his pigs and way of life.

Coromandel Wild Pigs with the caretaker legend Stuart
Weekend get away in the Coromandel was like hopping in a time machine!!
The highlight was meeting Stuart and his extended family of beautiful piggys.
However it was sad to see some of the tourists that did stop to take pxts look down on him for his lifestyle choice but to me he was a living legend with a massive heart for all living things and everything that lived with him showed their adoration for the Man.
Those people could learn a thing or two about excepting all things as they are then they might have shown a little more compassion.
I enjoyed Stuart's slice of paradise and I will be committed to going back many times in my lifetime.
A wonderful man, on an open hearted mission. Make sure if you stop, go down to the local FourSquare and ask the lovely ladies if they could check the back for any scraps they have. Beautiful town and lovely people with so many treasures including the four legged kind :-)

The 309 Road in the Coromandel – New Zealand’s Biggest Gap Year – Backpacker Guide New Zealand
Day 7: Today, we take the 309 Road in the Coromandel seeing Waiau Falls and arriving in Whitianga for some classic New Zealand fish and chips!
Yesterday - Day 6 -
Tomorrow – Day 8 –
About this video:
It’s Day 7 of New Zealand’s Biggest Gap Year and a whole week since we started our challenge of 365 activities in 365 days in New Zealand. Today’s activity is a road trip on The 309 Road in the Coromandel. Along the way, we stop off at Waiau Falls, a stunning waterfall just off the side of the 309 Road among beautiful forest scenery. The trip takes us on a winding gravel road through the stunning valleys as we travel from the west coast of the Coromandel to the east coast.
We arrive in the Coromandel town of Whitianga where we treat ourselves to a classic New Zealand meal: fish and chips! We take them down to the Whitianga waterfront, but little do we know that we are being followed... Someone, or something, is after our fish and chips!
After the fish and chips incident, we check out the relaxing Whitianga Beach for a taste of coastal life on the Coromandel Peninsula.
