Triceratops & T-Rex Scene - NRC Opening - Part 4
I research, design and sew animal costumes for the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, Raleigh NC.
The Museum's Discovery Room uses the costumes for Early Childhood Education programs. Kids can dress up as these different critters just for fun! They are a great teaching tool as they highlight each animal's anatomy and adaptations while displaying cool species diversity.
Take a look at all my costumes and how they are made at:
The Museum's New Wing, The Nature Research Center, held a 24-hour Grand Opening Event April 20-21, 2012. The animal costumes were featured in the Grand Opening Parade and also in their own Fashion Show. Take a look at the entire show or just at each short clip.
In this scene, dinosaurs frighten our narrator, MT Fiore. ROAR!
The models were wonderful students from The Holly Springs Dance Studio. Their movements brought each species to life. They did a perfect job and were a delight to work with.
Live music by Karen and the Chorus Frogs accompanied the show - with Karen and Terry Linehan, and Wade Smith. Their closing song All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir is a tune I find myself humming daily.
Special thanks to The Pumpkin Lady, Ann Smith, for her generous support of this project!

That photoshop teacher might be a North Korea Fanatic
The idea for it came up while watching an surprisingly uninformative yet somewhat entertaining tutorial video on Adobe TV. I got there by coincidence while being on a search for (guess what?) Photoshop Tutorials which ideally would expand my knowledge.
After all I can say that I wasn't able to do the INCONCEIVABLE, ENHANCING MY ENDLESS EXPERTISE IN PS, however my imagination got inspired by the video, leading me to do this!
If you think you got what it takes make yet another That photoshop teacher might be a [insert random word], feel free to download the Photoshop Guy Pack, it includes the layers I made use of, an After Effects project file and the original video. If you are acquainted with AE, you can easily do such a video in less than 2 minutes!
What are you still waiting for? Download the file and play with the files inside! Tell us in the comments if you have done a That photoshop teacher might be a [insert random word] yourself!

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

Dr. Stephen P. Beaudoin - Faculty Colloquium
Colloquium Topic: Let's Hope Something Sticks...
Abstract of Dr. Beaudoin's talk and full bio:
Professor Stephen P. Beaudoin has spent his research career working on problems related to how particles and powders adhere to surfaces. Some of the applications of that work have been in ultraclean manufacturing of microelectronics, while others have centered on pharmaceutical processing. Recently, the focus has turned toward understanding the adhesion of explosives for applications in detection of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and for improving the performance of munitions.
Stephen P. Beaudoin is a Professor in the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University, where he also serves as the Academic Director, Teaching and Learning Technology, and as the Director of the Purdue Energetics Research Center (PERC). He received his B.S. from MIT in 1988, his M.S. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990, and his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in 1995. All of his degrees are in Chemical Engineering.
