Taiwan's Spectacular Motorbike Tsunami-Rush Hour in Taipei
The motorbike Tsunami is the offramp of the Taipei Bridge on the Taipei City side. This bridge connects New Taipei City to Taipei City in Taiwan crossing the Danshui River. The Taipei Bridge divides motorbikes and cars and other motor vehicles giving the bikes their own bridge/offramp that gives the impression of a wave of traffic, especially during rush hour. Taiwan boasts the highest per capita motorbikes in the world. I've heard estimates of 14 million motorbikes on the island-the population is 23 million! This has been an exciting site to broadcast. Last year I broadcasted live from the motorbike tsunami on Periscope and have had over 142,000 views.

The Tamsui Lover's Bridge is a bridge in Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, Tamsui District, New Taipei, Taiwan. The bridge was opened on 14 February 2003.
The shape of the bridge resembles the mast and rigging of a sailing ship. There are lamps illuminating the bridge at night.

Tamsui Lover's bridge, New Taipei, Taiwan
Located in Tamsui, New Taipei City (Taipei County), Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is one of the popular scenic spots in Taipei since its opening in 2001. It is also ranked at the second place of viewing the most beautiful sunset spot by Japanese traveling magazine TRiPORT. It was established for two reasons: fishing and sightseeing. The sunset view here at the Fisherman’s Wharf is considered as one of the eight famous must-see sceneries of Tamsui. The Lover’s Bridge is another must-see spot of the wharf, and visitors may see the changes of light projecting on the bridge at night. Couples and families are fond to relax and enjoy their leisure time here. There are many seafood restaurants and coffee shops nearby so visitors may taste fresh seafood or drink coffee while appreciating the beautiful view.
Since art performances and concerts are held frequently here, visitors may enjoy several interesting performances for free. At the wharf, visitors may also travel to Tamsui Old Street or Bali by taking a cruise or ferry ride and to experience the local culture.
How to go there: Reach Tamsui station by Taipei metro. Its the terminal station of metro red line. Then Tamsui bus stand is just outside the station (on the right side). Catch bus # R26 and it will go directly to the Fisherman's wharf/Lover's bridge.

Shocking Bridge Collapse in Taiwan Caught on Camera
This is the moment a 104-meter-long bridge fell in Yilan, eastern Taiwan.
It collapsed at 9:30am and reports from the National Fire Agency say 10 people were injured.
Authorities enlisted the help of soldiers and set up an emergency centre to run the operation.

Searchers recovered five bodies from the wreckage of a bridge that collapsed and crushed three boats on the morning of October 1, 2019, in a small fishing village in Taiwan’s northeastern county of Yilan.
The victims, all described as being non-Taiwanese, are believed to be fishermen.
The incident also injured at least 12 people, including two rescue workers who were among those searching for another missing person.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the collapse.
